Emperor’s Domination

Water and Fog Emissary had the same origin - Xian Baihui. However, Fog didn’t have memories while Water did.

“What were the details of the transaction back then?” Six-style Emperor murmured.

“Depending on the perspective, could be viewed as hard or easy. It did require immense determination and preparation to start over again. Conjure a dao avatar and infuse the grand dao and fortunes for the exchange via the loophole, allowing the true body to escape. They didn’t come up with this method.” Li Qiye elaborated while staring at the bald old man.

She knew the old man was only a dao avatar as well.

“What was Jiao Heng’s role in this?” She asked.

Fog and Water snorted at the same time.

“Don’t be mad at him, he found the method and you were willing. Of course, he did mess around and help the true body reach the apex quickly. Who you actually hate is Baihui for abandoning you here.” Li Qiye said.

“Hating himself…” Six-style murmured. Although this sounded strange, it applied to this situation.

“Everyone hates themselves at times.” The bald old man said sentimentally: “Only by killing the past would one be a good ghost. That’s how it should be.”

“Is that why you don’t hate your true body?” Li Qiye asked.

“I am me, the true body.” The old man said.

“You are enlightened then compared to Water Emissary, which is also why you are so much stronger.” Li Qiye said.

“Was this worth it?” Six-style asked.

“Depends on who you ask. Baihui and Jiao Heng were certainly best friends, which was why Baihui sold himself for Jiao Heng’s desired item.” Li Qiye said.

“Such a deep friendship.” She said.

“Because he owed a favor.” Water glared at Fog.

Li Qiye was correct. Water hated his true body more than Jiao Heng. The guy left him here only to pay back a debt.

Fog, on the other hand, had no idea what was going on. During the final seconds of Old Strike Pact, he melted everything and joined the market, successfully surviving.

“I need this thing.” Fog stared at the pendant in the old man’s possession.

If it had all of Baihui’s fortunes, he would be able to regain his memories.

“An equivalent price that you might not be able to afford.” The old man smiled.

“And it is mine either way.” Water said.

Fog had no response because this was the truth. Baihui channeled all of his fortunes and dao into the dao avatar, so they belonged to the dao avatar. Although Fog was the true Baihui, he didn’t have the right to redeem it. Only Water did.

Six-style found the duo to be rather interesting and strange - two of the same but hated each other. They showed patience and restraint by not fighting each other.

“If he severs the past, then you can redeem it but as I’ve said, the price might be too much. Moreover, you won’t return to being a human either.” The old man said.

Fog understood his predicament. Since he had extinguished everything, he would still be a ghost after regaining his memories. Did they matter that much?

“Severing the past is the reason…” Six-style wondered why Water had exchanged the pendant with the old man. Was it for money or something else? Did he only want to sever the past?

“You will stay as a ghost, there is no escape.” Water sneered.

After a brief silence, Fog smiled bitterly and said: “Just a ghost indeed.”

He did everything with Jiao Heng to escape the exchange. Now, he was subjected to the same fate. This seemed like the machination of fate.

“Still want to? Fine, since we’re all emissaries and you two used to be the same, I’ll make the price the same as the original amount.” The old man smiled.

Water didn’t stop Fog this time.

“I don’t want to anymore. Since I’m a ghost, I’ll be a good ghost.” Fog sighed.

“Do you think that’s enough to make up for your mistakes?” Water sneered.

“Even if you didn’t replace me then, we were as one, so both of us would have been trapped here.” Fog said.

Water couldn’t argue with this logic.

“I have accepted my fate as a ghost, so this is yours. You can redeem it if you wish, or I can redeem it for you.” Fog said with sincerity.

Six-style thought Baihui’s true body had accepted the consequences of his action and wanted to make it up for the dao avatar.

“Very well, I will keep this here for now. Either of you can redeem it later.” The old man put the pendant away.

Fog and Water stood there in silence.

“Would you allow your true body to make it up for you?” Six-style couldn’t help but ask the old man.

He shrugged and said: “Unfortunately, he won’t have the opportunity. It’s all gone so what’s there to redeem? Moreover, he had never thought about it either, no repentance or redemption.”
