Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

Above the sea domain, the Chessboard Bead expanded into a massive chessboard.

Two sharp gleams shot from Ye Jingcheng’s eyes as he stared at the Cold Flood Dragon with an awe-inspiring presence. He pushed the Nine Yin Profound Soul Spirit Manual and the Star Illusion Eye to their absolute limits. Accompanied by the Thousand Moon Soul Needles floating behind him, Ye Jingcheng looked like a Demon God ready to devour souls.

Ye Jingcheng had pulled out all the stops to subdue the Cold Flood Dragon. Based on its earlier brief words, the beast knew of the Celestial Flood Dragon Sea but clearly did not belong there.

At this moment, the Cold Flood Dragon’s claws were still bleeding. The Jade Qilin Flood Dragon, the Earth Dragon Demon Emperor, and the Red Flame Fox did not relent in their assault. Under the siege of the Three Beasts, it retreated steadily. It had no doubt that if it refused to surrender, it would be instantly riddled with holes and roasted into dried meat, or even swallowed alive by that white Flood Dragon.

Its eyes were filled with unwillingness. After all, having cultivated to Tier Five, who would willingly submit? Back in the Celestial Flood Dragon Sea, it had refused to be disciplined and was severely injured and driven out after stealing and consuming the treasures of other Flood Dragons.

It had traveled an unknown distance before finally arriving in this sea domain. The absence of a Demon Saint here had left it overjoyed and utterly unbridled. It was exceptionally intoxicated by the thrill of suddenly swooping in to snatch the fruits of others’ labor whenever a treasure matured.

As it hesitated, an excruciating pain from its claws nearly twisted its face. It finally stopped wavering.

”I surrender!” the Cold Flood Dragon finally compromised. As soon as the words left its mouth, its massive Flood Dragon body seemed to deflate, completely losing its former imposing aura.

The surrounding Jade Qilin Flood Dragon, Red Flame Fox, and Earth Dragon Demon Emperor ceased their attacks, finally giving it a moment to catch its breath.

Seeing this, Ye Jingcheng dispersed the Soul Needles behind him in utmost satisfaction. He then quickly condensed a drop of Essence Blood and flicked it straight toward the Cold Flood Dragon.

However, just as the Essence Blood was about to land on the Cold Flood Dragon, a cold glint suddenly flashed in its eyes. Its ferocious nature erupted as it spat out another Cold Bead.

The Cold Bead instantly expanded countless times in size, revealing a tiny, blue-and-white Flood Dragon Shadow within it. Clearly, it had been brewing this attack in its mouth for a long time and even utilized its Demon Infant.

The next moment, the Cold Bead collided with the Essence Blood, exploding with a resounding BOOM.

Terrifying Cold Qi wreaked havoc within the Pocket World Bead, several times more freezing than the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon’s Profound Cold Domain.

It had evidently exhausted its origin Cold Qi. Finally, the bead’s internal space could no longer withstand the pressure and tore open a massive rift. The Cold Flood Dragon then transformed back into a wisp of blue mist and scattered in all directions. Its bizarre Secret Technique even caused the Cyan Yang Flame to fall off its body.

On the periphery, Ye Xuecang had also set up an Array. However, his Array came from Ye Xuefan and lacked Tier Five power, so it was cleanly shattered in an instant. Ye Xuecang deployed his four Lifebound Magical Treasure Flying Swords, but the gap between the Nascent Soul and Golden Core realms was simply too immense. The Cold Flood Dragon merely exhaled a breath of Cold Qi and froze him solid. Fortunately, the four swords were powerful enough to break open the Profound Cold Ice Coffin, or else a Golden Core Cultivator would have been frozen alive inside.

Luckily, the Cold Flood Dragon did not linger and fled into the distance. The Cold Qi it had transformed into split into four separate streams, making it impossible for ordinary Cultivators to discern its true escape route. Its ability to transform its body into Profound Cold Qi was precisely how it had managed to escape the Celestial Flood Dragon Sea in the first place.

However, not only could the Red Flame Fox track it, but Ye Jingcheng, who possessed the Great Success Star Illusion Eye, also spotted the Cold Flood Dragon at a single glance.

”Since you’re courting death, you can’t blame me,” Ye Jingcheng said, his expression turning exceedingly dark.

Although it was a Mid-stage Tier Five Flood Dragon, its rebellious nature was far too strong. Compared to the Primordial Shark Demon Emperor, its vigilance and ferocity were leagues higher. Naturally, there was no reason to keep it alive.

Ye Jingcheng first shot out three Thousand Moon Soul Needles. Then, the wings of the Taiyin Ancient Crow suddenly materialized behind his back. Utilizing a terrifying Fire Escape technique, he rapidly gave chase.

Demon Beasts generally had relatively weak Divine Souls, and the Flood Dragon Race was no exception.

As the Cold Flood Dragon was delayed for a moment by the Thousand Moon Soul Needles, Ye Jingcheng activated both the Holy Spirit Tower Spiritual Treasure and the Blood Soul Pearl Spiritual Treasure. When the Cold Flood Dragon’s gaze turned sluggish, the Holy Spirit Tower manifested a Holy Spirit—the Bi Fang Divine Bird—which descended in a deluge of monstrous flames, burning the beast until it wailed miserably.

”Master, I was wrong! This time I truly submit! I can even help you find treasures,” the Cold Flood Dragon pleaded for mercy again upon seeing the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon, Red Flame Fox, and Earth Dragon Demon Emperor converging from afar.

But at this point, how could Ye Jingcheng possibly accept its pleas? The Ye Family could not tolerate such a volatile element.

In truth, most Demon Emperors did not have overly convoluted minds. Those like the Primordial Shark Demon Emperor, the Tai Peng Demon Emperor, and the Xuanming Demon Emperor were the Ye Family’s favorites.

Then, there were those like the Earth Dragon Demon Emperor and the Cold Flood Dragon before him. While the Earth Dragon Demon Emperor had struck out on its own for a period of time, it originally hailed from the Ye Family. It had always guarded the clan and still harbored feelings for them, only leaving because it saw no hope for advancement.

As for the Cold Flood Dragon, Ye Jingcheng had no doubt that without a Soul Contract binding it directly to him, it would immediately flee if handed over to any other Ye Family Member. Its earlier pretense of surrender had even managed to fool him for a moment.

Ye Jingcheng took out the Purple Extreme Sword. Although it was merely a Tier Five Middle-Grade Treasure, its sharpness went without saying, as it was once the Lifebound Sword Embryo Treasure of True Monarch Ziji.

Under the suppression of the Holy Spirit Tower and the fiery assault of the Bi Fang Divine Bird, Ye Jingcheng effortlessly severed the Cold Flood Dragon’s head. The escaping Demon Infant was similarly trapped by the Holy Spirit Tower.

Ye Jingcheng then released his Dream-Devouring Worm, allowing it to devour the Demon Infant piece by piece.

Because the Flood Dragon Demon Soul’s Divine Soul was extraordinarily powerful, the Dream-Devouring Worm took a long time to consume it. Once it finished swallowing and refining the soul, the Nightmare Spirit Patterns all over the Dream-Devouring Worm’s body seemed to come alive. Its aura surged restlessly, as if it were on the verge of breaking through to the Late Stage of the Fourth Tier at any moment.

Seeing this, Ye Jingcheng was naturally overjoyed. The Dream-Devouring Worm was becoming increasingly useful to him, so the stronger it was, the better. If it could advance to Tier Five before the Earth Immortal Realm opened, the Ye Family’s Combat Power would become even more terrifying.

Unfortunately, the Advanced Pill Formula for the Dream-Devouring Worm was incredibly difficult to find, and obtaining the Essence Blood of a Tier Five Insect Emperor was nearly impossible.

After the Dream-Devouring Worm finished devouring the Divine Soul, Ye Jingcheng allowed the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon, which had been stirring restlessly on the sidelines, to swallow the remaining husk of the Flood Dragon Infant.

Of course, despite Ye Jingcheng letting it eat this, the beast was far more interested in swallowing the entire Cold Flood Dragon raw. But the Cold Flood Dragon’s entire body was covered in supreme treasures. How could Ye Jingcheng possibly let the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon devour it whole?

The Flood Dragon Scales, Sinews, Horns, and Bones would undoubtedly be highly sought after at any Tier Five trade fair. Even the Flood Dragon Meat, if given to the family’s Body Cultivators, could nourish their physical bodies and highly increase their chances of a breakthrough.

”ROAR!” The Jade Qilin Flood Dragon was still very obedient to Ye Jingcheng’s commands. Therefore, it merely let out a disappointed roar and drooled over the Flood Dragon Body as it slithered around the carcass. If its tongue had been long enough, it would have definitely given the body a few licks.

”I’ll give you some meat once the essential Spirit Materials are extracted,” Ye Jingcheng promised.

He then took out another carcass from his Storage Bag and tossed it to the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon. Catching sight of the massive chunk of Spiritual Flesh, it wagged its tail in utmost satisfaction.

At the same time, Ye Jingcheng rewarded the Red Flame Fox and the Earth Dragon Demon Emperor with two Spirit Pills each. Only after doing all this did he stow away the entire Flood Dragon Body.

”What a pity.” Ye Xuecang hurried over from afar. His complexion was rather pale, indicating that he had suffered significant injuries.

Of course, he wasn’t lamenting the fact that Ye Jingcheng had killed the Cold Flood Dragon. Rather, he found it a pity that the beast, despite being exceptionally intelligent, had still refused to submit. Logically speaking, the higher a beast’s Spiritual Wisdom, the easier it should be to tame. Yet this Cold Flood Dragon, knowing full well that refusal meant certain death, still chose to take a desperate gamble.

Additionally, he lamented the Ye Family’s severe lack of Nascent Soul Cultivators. If the family had other Nascent Soul experts besides Ye Jingcheng, they could have attempted to establish a contract with the Cold Flood Dragon during its second plea for its life.

”It is indeed a pity,” Ye Jingcheng agreed with a nod.

After swiftly collecting the Flood Dragon’s remains, the two men quickly departed.

Less than an hour after they left, two White Robed Cultivators abruptly appeared above the sea domain.

”How is this possible? An ordinary Late Stage Nascent Soul Cultivator couldn’t even dream of killing that Old Cold Flood Dragon,” the female Cultivator among the white-robed duo blurted out. ”Since when did the Star Sea gain a new Nascent Soul expert?”

”It wasn’t a Nascent Soul expert. There are numerous Flood Dragon auras lingering here. The Flood Dragon Race from the East Sea must have chased it down,” the male Cultivator replied. ”This Old Cold Flood Dragon must have stolen some Secret Treasure. What a shame. We went through so much trouble and even took out the Star Sea Fruit, yet we still failed to lure it out.”

This wasn’t their first or second time clashing with the Old Cold Flood Dragon. They had attacked it before, only for the beast to manage an escape. That was exactly why they knew its strength was nothing to scoff at.

”Husband, could the news of Divine Monarch Xingchen’s Inheritance Cave Mansion have leaked?” the female Cultivator asked, nodding but still unable to suppress her concern.

”There’s no need to worry about that. Rumors of Divine Monarch Xingchen’s Inheritance Cave Mansion spread over a millennium ago. Both the Eastern and Southern Domains know of it. If it were truly imminent, they would have arrived long ago. Furthermore, the Eastern Domain is extremely far from here, and the Profound Celestial Demon Sect is currently tied down by the South Sea Eight-Tailed Demon Saint, so they won’t affect us much. Instead, we need to keep a close eye on the Qianyun Palace and the Moon Sea Sect within the Star Sea,” the male Cultivator explained.

”Besides, the death of the Cold Flood Dragon benefits us. In ten years or so, we’ll be able to hunt far more Demon Beasts. At the same time, once Li’Er breaks through to the Golden Core Peak, we will slay the Primordial Shark Demon Emperor to make a name for her.

”An Early Stage Nascent Soul Primordial Shark Demon Emperor is much easier to kill than the Cold Flood Dragon.”

Hearing this, the female Cultivator nodded in agreement. However, a trace of anxiety still lingered in her eyes.

Cultivators possessed highly sensitive intuition regarding future dangers. She currently had an ominous premonition, though she couldn’t clearly discern what it was about. She believed they had made no major blunders in their recent actions.

”Husband, since the Flood Dragons from the Celestial Flood Dragon Sea are here, could they decide to ravage our sea domain while they’re at it?”

”It is indeed a possibility. Let’s return for now. We should keep a low profile during this period.

”As for those other factions, tell them to lie low as well and avoid stirring up any trouble for the time being.”
