Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

Chapter 978: Chapter 982: Young Master, Are You Okay?

”Is that it?” Uncle Quan seemed to be guiding Xia Qingqian to continue speaking, but Xia Qingqian was too clueless to understand Uncle Quan’s cryptic hints.

”Uncle Quan, I will never let Young Master worry again.” She promised while biting her lip, tears glistening like stars in her eyes.

”Girl, what Uncle Quan wants you to do is precisely the things that make Young Master worry. If it weren’t for this kidnapping incident, Young Master would never truly understand his own feelings! See, reality proves that Uncle Quan was right; Young Master indeed cares for you, cherishes you.” Uncle Quan looked at Xia Qingqian with a guilty and unbearable expression, feeling a sense of satisfaction!

Xia Qingqian was stunned, looking at this strange old man in front of her, even more confused, and lightly laughed, ”Uncle Quan, what are you talking about? I’m not quite sure what you mean.”

”Don’t understand, right? Then Uncle Quan will clarify a bit for you; you need to seize the happiness with Young Master and absolutely not let any other woman interfere!”

”Ah?!” What kind of reason is this, what kind of words are these? She could never possibly reach Young Master’s level, she was just Young Master’s contract plaything, and once time is up, there would be nothing between them.

Uncle Quan even asked her to seize the happiness with Young Master? This was truly the funniest joke she had ever heard...

As Uncle Quan intended to say more, a cold voice came from the stairs: ”Uncle Quan, this is disrespectful for your age! My matters require no interference from any of you!”

It was Beitang Yao, who had already cleaned himself up and dressed neatly in a well-tailored suit, once again exhibiting his usual cold and refined aristocratic demeanor, without a trace of fatigue on his appearance.

He stopped at a distance of thirty feet away, twisted his wrist, and continued coldly, ”Between her and me, there’s only a relationship of demand and giving, nothing else!”

Upon hearing this, Xia Qingqian’s face instantly turned pale. Hastily getting up, she tremblingly asked, ”...Young Master, are you alright?”

”Are you...feeling better?” His tone was indifferent as he bypassed Xia Qingqian, grabbed several documents from the coffee table to browse through, not caring for her reply.

”Make me a cup of coffee!”

Xia Qingqian was momentarily bewildered, then fled in confusion to the tea room to brew coffee.

She gazed absentmindedly at the coffee pot. So, were those fragments just illusions? Were the words Young Master said to her just fleeting utterances? Only meant to make her let down her guard?

She gulped with difficulty, facial muscles twitching several times, and her eyes rimmed with moisture. As she reached to turn off the switch and was about to pick up the coffee pot, she accidentally touched the scalding pot body, a piercing burn spreading from her fingers throughout her body.

”Ah!!” She yelped in pain, bringing her hand to her mouth and blowing on it, trying to soothe the sharp pain, but alas, that sharpness stimulated her nerves!

The coffee spilled from the pot all over the table, running along the table’s edge and dripping to the floor.

Xia Qingqian’s shout broke the silence of the house, bringing Uncle Quan from the living room, Maria busy in the kitchen, and Ye Feng just out from the infirmary, all rushing into the tea room immediately.

”Miss Xia, let me handle these things. Are you hurt anywhere?”

”Girl, is it painful? Such heavy work shouldn’t be your job!”

”Miss Xia, is it a burn? I’ll put some medicine on it for you.”

Everyone appeared simultaneously at the doorway, in unison, asking about Xia Qingqian’s condition.
