Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

Chapter 977: Chapter 981: Troubling the Young Master

”Miss Xia, are you okay? What are you thinking about?” Maria saw Xia Qingqian lost in thought and waved her hand in front of her eyes, really worried that Xia Qingqian might become unresponsive again.

”Oh, oh.” Xia Qingqian shuddered and quickly came back to her senses, ”Maria, can I eat...?” She hadn’t finished speaking when her stomach growled, completing her sentence for her.

Maria understood immediately and nodded repeatedly, ”You’re hungry, aren’t you? I’ll prepare dinner for you right away.” With that, Maria rushed downstairs at an incredible speed.

Xia Qingqian felt she had caused them a lot of trouble and glanced at the tightly closed door before heading downstairs.

With her hand on the railing, she walked down step by step, fragments of memories surfacing in her mind, as she tried hard to piece them together.

”Miss Xia, you’re awake?” A kindly voice came from the foot of the stairs. Xia Qingqian looked over and smiled at Uncle Quan, who was beaming at her.

She brushed aside the fragments from her mind and quickly walked down, smiling at Uncle Quan, ”Uncle Quan, your leg isn’t well, you shouldn’t be standing.” She said this while supporting Uncle Quan to the living room.

”Haha, you are so considerate.” Uncle Quan laughed heartily, saying with satisfaction, ”My grandson is not even as good to me as you are.”

”Uncle Quan, have I been troubling the Young Master these past few days? Didn’t he refuse to pay the ransom for me? How am I here safe and sound?” Since the Young Master didn’t pay the ransom, how could she be sitting here unharmed?

”During the five hours you were missing, the Young Master reported to the police and sent people to search for you, but then received a ransom call.” Uncle Quan blinked lightly and continued, ”The Young Master was furious, genuinely furious, and he wasn’t willing to pay a billion to ransom you...”

Uncle Quan purposely paused here, suddenly wanting to tease Xia Qingqian and see how she would react. Sure enough, she lowered her eyes, covering the dim light in them, her lips slightly drooped, looking every bit like a little wife.

”Oh...” She just gave a faint response, her body slightly hunched, unconsciously twisting her fingers, biting her lips tightly, trying hard to hold back the tears hovering in her eyes!

”Haha, how could the Young Master easily compromise with those kidnappers? Of course, that money couldn’t be given. The Young Master hired a special ops group to handle those kidnappers and rescued you.” Uncle Quan was very pleased with Xia Qingqian’s reaction, ”Girl, I hope you don’t mind me calling you that, the Young Master has been sleepless the past two days because of you, I’ve been worried about him.”

Xia Qingqian looked at Uncle Quan, puzzled, ”Uncle Quan, what are you worried about? Did something happen to the Young Master because of me?”

Uncle Quan lightly coughed, quickly raised his hand to his mouth, and after a moment said, ”The Young Master has lost weight, and despite his severe cleanliness, he hasn’t shaved his stubble in two days. You’ve seen how thin he’s gotten, right? If the elder masters find out, they’ll surely blame me for not taking care of the Young Master...”

Xia Qingqian suddenly raised her eyes, imagining the Young Master’s sleeping face, and felt a tight grip in her heart, frowning, ”Uncle Quan, it’s my fault, I shouldn’t have been willful and left the company out of spite with the Young Master.”
