Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

Chapter 900: Chapter 902: Recuperate Well

”Only one week.” He said in a low voice, ”But you can only go to see your Qiao Zhenyu after you recover!” His tone was rather uncomfortable, with a hint of jealousy.

Recover? She almost forgot that when the back of her head hit the ground, she felt a piercing pain, followed by the oozing of blood. She thought, she really thought, she could see Brother Zhenyu.

But, she was saved after all.

In the days that followed, because of her injury, Xia Qingqian didn’t have to go to work at the company; she just stayed in the villa to recuperate.

The stews and supplements that Beitang Yao brought back were prepared by the servants, and when they were placed on the table, she consumed them all.

It wasn’t because she was extremely hungry but because she wanted the wound to heal quickly. This way, she would be closer to Brother Zhenyu, truly getting closer.

Moreover, she forced herself to adjust her mood, not allowing herself to think about anything. Yet, at night, she was always scared to be alone and couldn’t sleep peacefully. Often, she woke up from nightmares.

As soon as Beitang Yao finished work, he went straight home, just to see her a bit more. Seeing that she was still at home, he felt relieved.

When he returned, he saw her sitting by the dining table, attentively drinking the stew, but she seemed to be lost in thought. She didn’t even notice him standing behind her, watching for a long time.

It was as if she rejected everything in this world with those indifferent eyes. He wanted to step into her inner world, but no matter how he tried, he couldn’t find the entrance.

”Young Master, you’re back?” The servant came out of the kitchen, holding the prepared dishes and placing them on the dining table.

Beitang Yao frowned slightly, walked over, and sat down opposite Xia Qingqian. Only then did she lift her gaze and give Beitang Yao a lazy smile, even the smile was so perfunctory.

”Young Master, you’re back.” She looked up, surprised to see him, just said lightly, and then buried her head to drink the last bit of soup in her bowl.

She gently put down the bowl in her hand, ”Young Master, take your time eating.” She got up, intending to leave.

”Sit down, have dinner with me.” At the moment she turned around, he hastily called out to her. He gave her a week’s time; it wouldn’t be too much to ask her to have a meal with him, would it?

Every time he rushed back, he wanted to have dinner with her, but she always found various reasons to leave the table, and he didn’t even know if she was full or not.

She always seemed to calculate whether he would come back early or late, always intending to leave at the moment he sat down at the table.

She hesitated for a long while, and under the servant’s urging glance, she slowly sat back down. She clearly saw the servant gently exhale a sigh of relief.

The servant served soup to Beitang Yao, and then half a bowl of rice to Xia Qingqian.

Neither moved their chopsticks, Xia Qingqian just stared blankly at the dish closest to her.

Seeing her like this, a strange anger welled up in Beitang Yao’s heart. He took the spoon handed by the servant and placed it forcefully into the soup bowl.

The golden spoon clattered loudly against the porcelain bowl, and the soup splashed out.

The sudden noise made all the servants standing by lower their heads and gasp, casting sidelong glances.

Xia Qingqian was so close to Beitang Yao that when the soup splashed out, a few drops landed on her face. She abruptly raised her eyes and sat up straight, a chill rushing toward her.
