Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

Chapter 855: Chapter 857: Young Master, I Want to Stay and Work Overtime

Beitang Yao lowered his eyes, focusing on her rosy, bright cherry lips, almost ready to approach her, savoring the fragrance and sweetness that belonged to her.

”You can address me as Young Master. I don’t like hearing things I dislike from your little mouth.” He extended his slender fingers, pressing down on her cherry lips. Yet in his ink-black eyes, there flashed a glimmer of unease.

A bright white flashed in Xia Qingqian’s mind, causing her chest to surge with every word the Young Master had spoken before. She couldn’t forget, nor would she, at least for the next two years, she had to firmly remember them.

She had neither the right nor the ability to contend with Beitang Yao; she could only succumb to his authoritarian dominance.

In the moment Beitang Yao stood up, Xia Qingqian hurriedly let her emotions gradually return to normal. She crouched down, half-kneeling, picking up the things that had fallen onto the carpet. Thankfully, she hadn’t dirtied his expensive carpet.

She sighed quietly, truly fortunate amidst the fortunate; she didn’t know if he got angry again, whether her little life would still be intact?

Beitang Yao removed his tie, casually placing it on the back of a chair, his gaze falling upon her, watching her tidy up the aftermath.

”Let’s go home.” After pondering for a long time, once she had tidied up, he finally spoke.

He remained as indifferent as ever, able to find a hint of warmth in anyone. But trying to extract a bit of warmth from Beitang Yao was simply unimaginable.

Xia Qingqian was first stunned, standing beside the desk, at a loss. Her eyebrows knit slightly, but her heart was in chaos; her work was not yet complete, never before had she hated her pace like she did now.

If the work couldn’t be completed, Beitang Yao wouldn’t allow her to go to the airport to pick someone up. Tomorrow was her only chance to approach Nancy and resolve the confusion in her heart; she didn’t know where she would find Nancy if she missed it.

”Young Master, I need to stay late at work.” She must complete the work.

In that instant, Beitang Yao’s indifferent, icy gaze suddenly deepened, ”Do you care a lot about this reception?”

Did she genuinely admire Nancy’s talent?

The air was silent; Xia Qingqian truly lacked the courage to admit it, yet she hoped the Young Master would let her go.

”You won’t receive a penny of overtime pay,” he said lightly.

She also never expected that Young Master would pay her as a secretary; she ate his food, wore his clothes, lived under his roof, and even if Young Master gave her a salary, she wouldn’t want it.

Consider it the recompense for Young Master supporting her.

”Young Master, I am your employee. My work isn’t complete; it’s proper for me to stay late at work.” She gritted her teeth, speaking softly.

”If you stay late at work, the whole company will have to come back to accompany you till the end.” By then, he would become the target of the entire group’s employees’ anger, and let’s see how she’d handle it.

Hearing this, Xia Qingqian quickly looked up, observing Beitang Yao’s cold silhouette, causing her to shiver involuntarily.

During part-time work, some customers would find various reasons to linger in the store, unwilling to leave so early. But those working night shifts wouldn’t want it, spending every night accompanying those who were awake day and night.

No one wants such overtime.

Xia Qingqian held the takeout that Beitang Yao bought in her hand, ”Young Master, let me throw this away first, then I’ll go home with you.” She didn’t want to make the company staff accompany her to work overtime because of her; it was indeed too inconsiderate.
