The Urban Medical Martial Immortal

Chapter 749: Chapter 745: Xian Jingzheng (First Update!)

“Master, all the herbal medicine has been delivered! Look, there’s so much over there, Dongdong and I are planning to sort and arrange them properly!”

Leng Caiwei pointed to the corner of the medical hall, where several large bags of Chinese herbal medicine were piled up, weighing at least two to three hundred pounds, a quantity several times more than what Lin Tian had intended to buy.

It was obvious that this was an extra gift from Sun Hongsong, a token of his gratitude for Lin Tian saving his daughter’s life.

“So much?”

Lin Tian glanced at the heap of herbal medicine, which included many more varieties than expected, and expressed some surprise.

“Yes, Boss Sun came in person, but he didn’t make things difficult for us! It’s rather that you took us in that surprised him.”

Continuing, Leng Caiwei blinked her beautiful eyes at Lin Tian, full of anticipation, “Master, you mentioned you would teach us things, is that really true?”

Zhou Yadong also couldn’t help but look up at Lin Tian, his face brimming with eagerness.

They had witnessed Lin Tian’s astounding medical skills with their own eyes; even Master Tan Guangji had admitted inferiority. If Lin Tian could teach them even one or two techniques, it would be a lifetime’s worth!

“Of course, it’s true! But first, you must sort out the herbs and recognize them all. After you’ve done that, I’ll teach you! If you can’t manage that, then forget it!”

Lin Tian nodded slightly to the two and fell silent for a while before he raised his head again and said, “Also, you can call me Master when you’re in front of me but when you’re outside, in front of others… just say you’ve learned things from me! I don’t take disciples lightly, so for now, it’s just a title.”

Upon hearing this, Zhou Yadong and Leng Caiwei first looked puzzled, but they quickly understood and nodded in agreement.

Then the two buried themselves in identifying all the herbs in front of them. Despite having seen and recognized them before, they took it very seriously, taking out notebooks to list each herb’s appearance, characteristics, uses, and growing environment, among other details.

Watching from the side, Lin Tian couldn’t help but nod in satisfaction.

If the two were diligent and eager to learn, Lin Tian wouldn’t mind teaching them medical techniques that ordinary people could use, which would undoubtedly benefit them for a lifetime.

With nothing else to do, Lin Tian simply sat on the sofa, staring blankly at the entrance of the medical hall, with a look of longing in his eyes.

“By the way, Master, the advertisement outside is quite exaggerated. What if no patients come for treatment?”

Suddenly, Leng Caiwei lifted her head to look at Lin Tian, a hint of worry in her voice.

She had already warned Lin Tian earlier, but seeing his indifferent manner, it seemed he didn’t understand that running a medical hall required income to sustain it.

“No matter, they come if they want! I have my plans for opening this medical hall!”

Lin Tian saw that Leng Caiwei meant well, so he shook his head and replied with a smile.

“Oh…”

Seeing the meaningful smile on Lin Tian’s face, Leng Caiwei smartly chose not to inquire further.

She understood that some things were best left hinted at, and pressing further could easily anger Lin Tian.

What Leng Caiwei and Zhou Yadong didn’t know was that Lin Tian’s aim was to lure the Ghost Raising Taoist.

Whether the medical hall had patients or who came for other reasons didn’t concern him; what mattered most was the Ghost Raising Taoist’s prompt appearance.

If the Ancient Map Fragment could be pieced together, it should reveal the whereabouts of another Taiji Tripod, or perhaps even more.

Moreover, Lin Tian had an inkling that the Ancient Map might point to the most important one among the nine sub-Chaos Pearls of the Nine-Turned Chaotic Pearl!

At present, in the nine illusive indentations of the Nine-Turned Chaotic Pearl, only one Fire Pearl had been placed.

Ever since the Fire Pearl found its place, Lin Tian’s mastery over Fire Magic had increased more than tenfold.

As a result, the Samadhi True Fire he wielded was much more powerful than that of a typical cultivator.

What a pity.

Lin Tian had yet to find a suitable Fire Based Battle Technique for someone at the Foundation Establishment Stage to practice because all the Fire Based Combat Techniques in his mind were high-level, impossible to cultivate!

Amidst Lin Tian’s drifting thoughts, time flowed like water.

Soon, the evening approached.

Zhou Yadong and Leng Caiwei had finished sorting the pile of herbal medicine.

“Master, it’s all taken care of!”

Leng Caiwei stood up and, with trembling lips, said to Lin Tian, “It’s just…”

At this, her pretty face turned red, and she looked noticeably nervous, wringing her hands together in a flustered gesture.

Beside her, Zhou Yadong scratched his head and said, “Master… well, Weiwei and I can’t recognize a few of the herbal medicines… Can you still teach us?”

“Show me!”

Seeing the anxious expressions on their faces, Lin Tian couldn’t help but smile wryly as he stood and walked over.

“Here, these are the herbs we haven’t learned about…”

Leng Caiwei placed several different-looking Chinese herbal medicines in front of Lin Tian, her face filled with trepidation.

“This is horned dragon grass; it’s a support herbal medicine…”

Lin Tian began to explain patiently to the two of them.

Zhou Yadong and Leng Caiwei listened intently, their eyes lighting up. They took notes diligently.

After explaining several herbal medicines, Lin Tian began to pass on the secrets of decocting, pulse diagnosis, and acupuncture – secrets he had simplified so that ordinary people could use them. As long as these two were diligent and willing to learn, even with just this knowledge, they could be considered masters of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Naturally, Zhou Yadong and Leng Caiwei were overjoyed and thanked Lin Tian repeatedly. If Lin Tian had not stopped them, they would have even knelt down to formally acknowledge him as their master.

Not until the two had mastered the three secret techniques did Lin Tian stop the lessons, preparing to close up for the night as it was getting late.

However,

Just as Lin Tian was about to send Zhou Yadong and Leng Caiwei home, a series of rushed footsteps came from outside.

A middle-aged man carrying a woman who looked to be in her thirties burst in.

“Doctor, where’s the doctor? Please help me, save my wife!”

The man entered, cradling the woman, and started screaming at Lin Tian and the others, his voice filled with pleading.

“What happened?”

Lin Tian frowned, his gaze falling on the woman as he spoke.

The woman’s face showed a strange array of colors – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet – shifting continuously.

It was a manifestation of her illness. The vibrant colors on her face were like a rainbow, not beautiful to the onlookers but causing them to be filled with fear.

Zhou Yadong and Leng Caiwei instinctively stepped back two paces.

“My wife, I don’t know what kind of illness she has caught. She’s had this condition for some time now, but it was just strange colors on her face, nothing serious, it disappeared after a while, and she also felt weak and fatigued!”

The man, paying no mind to Lin Tian’s status, quickly explained: “We’ve visited countless hospitals and renowned doctors, and they can’t diagnose her! We thought we’d try the Huai Ren Medical Hall next door today when it got serious. The doctors there are too scared to treat her… They… they say it’s a terminal disease, maybe even a deadly virus that could be contagious… My… my wife doesn’t have a contagious disease, I beg you, please have a doctor look at her! Other hospitals won’t take us anymore, they all get scared seeing her like this…”

A deadly contagious disease?

Zhou Yadong and Leng Caiwei’s expressions changed drastically, tension arising.

“Why are you still here?”

Suddenly, a panicked cry came from the entrance of the medical hall, and a plump man holding a briefcase approached the door. Seeing the middle-aged man holding his wife, he turned pale and shouted to Lin Tian: “Why did you let him in? Quickly get the boss of your medical hall, throw them out! His wife either has been cursed or has contracted some terrible disease that could be deadly and contagious…”

“What are you saying! My wife isn’t contagious, we had her checked at the hospital before, it’s not contagious!”

The fear and panic were clear on the middle-aged man’s face, tinged with both shock and anger.

“Who are you?”

Lin Tian looked up at the chubby man and asked coldly.

“I’m Xian Jingzheng, a doctor at Huai Ren Medical Hall! And also the boss! You must get these two out of here fast. If this spreads, we could all be doomed!”

Xian Jingzheng covered his mouth, warning Lin Tian: “If you don’t heed my advice, you’d better lock up your medical hall well, to prevent the spread… Pfft, seeking death!”

Having said that, Xian Jingzheng hurriedly left, looking very panicked.
