The Urban Medical Martial Immortal

Chapter 704: Chapter 700 Meiling’s Past Residents (First Update!)

“The River God Sect, this Xiangjiang Province territory is a subsidiary of our Central Continent, and you’ve come all this way without so much as a greeting. Isn’t that a bit ungracious?”

The leader of the Asura Sect, a man enveloped in swirling True Energy, exuded a terrifying aura. Suppression swept through as howling winds whipped around him. He stood with his hands behind his back, his clothes flapping in the wind, and looked down at Shangguan Bai with an icy gaze, filled with lethal intent.

Standing behind this man was a group of Asura Sect disciples, all of whom were also menacing, their bodies radiating a fierce aura.

Most of these people had a cultivation of the eight or seventh layers, including several at the Qi Refining Ninth Level Peak.

Their terrifying auras spread around the area, following the lead of their leader.

The loose cultivators who hadn’t left yet were all watching with hearts pounding in fear.

Many of the faint-hearted had already quietly turned around and fled the scene!

The faces of Shangguan Bai and the others from the River God Sect had turned ugly, their expressions grave.

“The Asura Sect?”

Shangguan Bai raised his head to look at the leader in the blood-colored robe, his eyes showing shock and suspicion.

In all the information he had gathered, the Asura Sect was not known to have such a powerful presence.

Compared to their River God Sect, the Asura Sect’s strength could be said to be a notch lower.

But now, a Mid-stage Foundation Establishment expert had appeared.

“The Asura Sect, Huo Xingteng!”

The man at the forefront gave a cold smile, narrowed his eyes, and said indifferently to Shangguan Bai, “Now, will you give us an explanation?”

“An explanation?”

Shangguan Bai took a deep breath, assessed the situation, and his voice involuntarily weakened a bit, “Dragon Creek Mountain has always been unclaimed land. The valley holds Earthfire Stones guarded by the Dead Swamp Netherworld Snake. We have already gravely wounded it, so its treasures should rightfully be ours. Now you swoop in like a cuckoo taking over the nest, wanting to reap the benefits of the fisherman. How could you be the ones asking for an explanation from us instead!”

“Unclaimed land?”

Huo Xingteng’s face was briefly stunned, he turned back in astonishment to look at the group of Asura Sect disciples who had followed him.

“Hahahaha… Elder Huo, that ‘unclaimed land’ statement was quite something!”

Many of the disciples couldn’t help but burst into loud laughter.

“What are you laughing at!”

Huo Xingteng’s face darkened as he shouted at that group of disciples, “Elder Shangguan’s words are perfectly correct!”

At that, everyone was taken aback.

The faces of Shangguan Bai and the others eased slightly, thinking that there might be a turning point in the situation.

However, Huo Xingteng suddenly grinned, his smile cold and devilish as he said ominously, “Mr. Shangguan is quite right indeed. These Earthfire Stones were guarded by the Dead Swamp Netherworld Snake; they belonged to it. And since you’ve gravely injured it and seized the treasure, it’s yours now! However…”

Puchi puchi~

As he finished speaking, Huo Xingteng flicked his wrist, and a half palm-sized rusty and damaged Blood Blade suddenly shot out from his hand, piercing through the throats of several River God Sect disciples.

Instantly, they fell dead, mowed down like straw and ceased to breathe in the blink of an eye!

“Magic Artifact! A damaged Ancient Magical Artifact that can be completely refined and controlled through the air like a Flying Sword!”

Having seen the Damaged Blood Blade flying through the air, Shangguan Bai’s expression drastically changed to one of panic as he exclaimed, “The Asura Sect actually possesses such a powerful Ancient Magical Artifact!”

It was no wonder that Shangguan Bai was so agitated and fearful. Even their River God Sect only possessed a damaged Magic Artifact in the Sect Master’s hands, which was only slightly more powerful than the so-called divine weapons of the common folk.

And now, an Elder of the mere Asura Sect held an Ancient Magical Artifact that could be fully refined and controlled!

“Fellow Daoist has good eye power!”

Huo Xingteng retracted the damaged Blood Burial Saber, not sparing a glance at the several new corpses on the ground. The pungent scent of blood carried with the wind, and he couldn’t resist taking a deep, pleasurable breath before smacking his lips, and praised Shangguan Bai, “This magic artifact, named Blood Burial Saber, claims lives at the sight of blood! However, even without this weapon, killing you all would be like slaughtering ants! Now, if I kill you all, won’t the Earthfire Stones that once belonged to the Dead Swamp Netherworld Snake become ours? According to what you said earlier, if I snatch from you what you snatched from the Dead Swamp Netherworld Snake, in the end, everything would belong to us!”

Hearing this, the complexions of Shangguan Bai and the group of cultivators from the River God Sect changed drastically, a chill rising in their hearts.

The surrounding cultivators couldn’t help but take a deep breath as well.

Even Nie Xingchen and Tian Ce, who stood beside Lin Tian, were starting to tremble slightly.

These individuals, being so close, if Huo Xingteng from the Asura Sect decided to go on a killing spree, they wouldn’t escape being hunted down either.

As for turning and leaving now, that action could very well draw upon them Huo Xingteng’s thunderous fury!

At this moment, they could only stand in their spot, rooted by a mix of fear and alarm, while Tian Ce and Sheng Zishu couldn’t help but glare fiercely at Lin Tian, filled with infinite regret.

“What is your intention, Fellow Daoist? We won’t take any of the items, just let us leave! Or, do you intend to keep us all here? If we die, do you realize it will provoke a great battle between two sects?”

Shangguan Bai knew the situation was beyond salvaging and could only fully capitulate, taking a deep breath, he said, “I think, Fellow Daoist, you would not wish to see such a scenario!”

Upon hearing this, Huo Xingteng’s brows furrowed, and after pondering for a moment, he spoke coldly, “Lay down everything you possess, then sever one of your arms and crawl back to the East Continent! Otherwise, death!”

Huo Xingteng was also looking for an easy way down from his aggressive stance. Actually killing Shangguan Bai and the others would definitely cause great turmoil.

Although the Asura Sect was not afraid of the River God Sect, if this provoked other rival sects to take advantage and attack, it would be a disastrous blow!

“We sever one of our arms? Impossible!”

Shangguan Bai’s eyes turned cold as he shouted angrily.

Puchi~

But the response from Huo Xingteng was the Blood Burial Saber in his hand, which once again harvested several disciples from the River God Sect.

Shangguan Bai’s expression faltered, and, gritting his teeth, he could only stand up and drop all his possessions, including some spiritual medicine and various treasures, ready to sever his own arm.

To survive, this was the only way out.

“Umm… may I say something?”

Just as Shangguan Bai and the group of cultivators from the River God Sect were about to take action and sever their arms, Lin Tian stepped forward, looked at the people on both sides, and smiled, “They can’t leave. I did say earlier, if you miss your chance, you won’t be able to leave!”

Lin Tian’s sudden move startled everyone, whether it was Tian Ce and the others, the loose cultivators still enjoying the scene, or Shangguan Bai and Yang Zhixi along with the River God Sect cultivators.

Huo Xingteng and his group of disciples from the Asura Sect were equally taken aback, their gaze swiftly shifting onto Lin Tian.

Just as Huo Xingteng was about to speak, a cold laugh came from afar, “That’s right, they can’t leave! If we let them go, would that still reflect the demeanor befitting the Asura Sect?”

With the cold laughter settling, two figures were seen swiftly approaching from a distant mountain ridge.

They were a young man and woman; the man towering and robust, with a handsome and resolute appearance and overwhelming cultivation surging towards the heavens, the woman smiled, radiating charm.

Boom~~

The young man arrived in an instant, waving his hand and sending out a blood-red True Energy Blade that pierced through the body of a River God Sect disciple. The red haze spread, and in a blink, the disciple’s body burst into a blood mist.

Just as Huo Xingteng was about to deal with these people and claim the Earthfire Stones, he turned his head towards the young man upon hearing the voice.

When he saw who had arrived, his eyes suddenly narrowed. It turned out to be an old acquaintance – Zhang Wanchun, who had studied together with him at Meiling High School and later was taken away with Huo Xiaoyu by Wang Jin of the Gale Sect, and about whom there had been no news.

Back in Bin City, this person was notoriously arrogant. He had been repeatedly bested by Lin Tian and afterward followed Wang Jin, relinquishing any presence until now.

Lin Tian had thought Zhang Wanchun had met with misfortune just like Wang Jin; he didn’t expect to encounter him again here.

And furthermore, the man’s cultivation had astonishingly reached the peak of the Qi Refining Ninth Level!
