The Urban Medical Martial Immortal

Chapter 737: Chapter 733 Picking Up Someone (Second Update)

At that moment, Zhou Yadong and Leng Caiwei were extremely nervous.

They thought Lin Tian was coming to seek accountability, and here in front of them stood a youth who seemed even a year or two younger than them, yet even Tan Guangji had to respectfully bow and pay homage to him!

The two had cold sweat forming on their anxious faces, their heads lowered, not daring to look at Lin Tian, and their bodies trembling slightly.

They had struggled hard just to get the opportunity to intern at Sun Hongsong’s medicine store as ordinary lower-class students.

Facing someone even more eminent than Tan Guangji, how could they calm down?

“Don’t be nervous, I am just passing by!”

Seeing them like this, Lin Tian smiled slightly and asked, “Are you still in school? Which school? What are your names?”

Puzzled by Lin Tian’s consecutive questions, both hesitated.

Realizing that Lin Tian wasn’t there to seek accountability, they finally let out a sigh of relief, and the tense expression on their faces eased slightly.

The young girl Leng Caiwei and the boy exchanged glances, then respectfully said to Lin Tian, “Master, we are junior students at Liiu Yuan Chinese Medicine College. My name is Leng Caiwei, and he is Zhou Yadong! We are clas… classmates!”

“Just classmates?”

Lin Tian looked at them with a faint smile, his words bearing a deeper meaning.

“Uh…”

Leng Caiwei’s pretty face turned red like the evening sky, and she pursed her lips, bowing her head.

The nearby Zhou Yadong also scratched his head awkwardly.

Clearly, the two were in a romantic relationship.

“Given that you are from the Medical College, you should be very familiar with the basic Chinese Herbal Medicine of traditional Chinese medicine. How could you possibly grab the wrong one?”

Lin Tian glanced at them and asked.

They followed Sun Hongsong’s instructions for grabbing the support medicine ingredients. Even with both handling it carelessly, grabbing the wrong one should have been difficult.

Hearing Lin Tian’s words, both had a downcast look on their faces, showing a hint of frustration.

“I don’t know what happened! We grabbed it exactly as instructed by Sun Store Manager, and we checked again and again!”

Zhou Yadong clenched his teeth, his voice filled with reluctance.

Lin Tian pondered for a moment, then asked, “What medicine? Do you still have it?”

“Yes…”

Zhou Yadong took out a few particularly fine herbal materials from his body and handed them to Lin Tian, saying, “These herbs are called Dark Fragrance Grass, used as a supporting medicine in traditional Chinese medicine. It was Sun Store Manager who asked us to grab these herbs, but he and Master Tan both said it was wrong, that it’s poison…”

Lin Tian took the herbs, gently rubbing them.

The materials given, all crushed into herbal remnants, were obviously leftovers kept by Zhou Yadong.

“You didn’t grab the wrong medicine!”

After examining the herbs in his hand, Lin Tian then smiled and said, “But you did grab another wrong one, which naturally turned out to be poison. Technically, it’s not your fault!”

“Ah… Master, what do you mean?”

Confused by Lin Tian’s words, both felt baffled as if they were listening to a tongue-twister, unable to react in the moment.

“To put it simply, this Dark Fragrance Grass was mixed with other herbs. Not only you, even Tan Guangji himself couldn’t distinguish it!”

Lin Tian explained patiently: “In addition to Dark Fragrance Grass, there is also a herb called bellflowers here. It is non-toxic and even has longevity benefits for the human body. But when mixed with Dark Fragrance Grass, it becomes toxic!”

“Ah… there are other herbs? And they look exactly the same?”

Leng Caiwei gasped in astonishment.

“That’s why you couldn’t recognize it and mistakenly thought you grabbed the wrong one!”

Lin Tian nodded at them, patiently instructing, “Give me the bottled water you have! If you encounter Dark Fragrance Grass in the future, you can try using water. Herbs looking exactly the same like this are very rare, quite exceptional—Dark Fragrance Grass and bellflowers are an example…”

As he spoke, Lin Tian crushed the stem and leaves of the Dark Fragrance Grass and scattered them on the ground, then poured water over it, soon a faint dark fragrance emerged.

And unbeknownst to Lin Tian, he also scattered the stems and leaves of bellflowers, similarly treating them, but the result was a hissing sound, and the water stain turned dark black.

“Ah… there really are two different herbs!”

Both Zhou Yadong and Leng Caiwei were incredibly surprised, staring blankly.

“Do you understand now?”

Lin Tian chuckled and brought the two dazed individuals back to reality.

“Thank you for the master’s guidance!”

Both of them were overjoyed and hurriedly offered their thanks.

“Don’t keep calling me ‘master’; I’m about the same age as you are. Just call me Lin Tian!”

Lin Tian slightly shook his head as he spoke to the two.

They repeatedly waved their hands, insisting that they couldn’t possibly do that.

At the same time, a look of frustration began to appear on their faces. It clearly wasn’t their fault, but now they had no choice but to endure it in silence.

“Would you be interested in interning at my medical hall?”

Lin Tian finally revealed his intention.

“Ah… Master, you want us to be apprentices at your medical hall? You’re willing to take us in?”

Leng Caiwei exclaimed, mouth agape.

Zhou Yadong was also wide-eyed, his face full of disbelief.

Lin Tian was slightly taken aback before nodding and saying, “As apprentices? If you’re willing, you can also learn from me. When I have time, I can teach you some basic and easy concepts!”

“Master, we would love to learn from you!”

Zhou Yadong and Leng Caiwei quickly bowed respectfully, their eyes shining, their faces ecstatic.

This was a mentor of medical skills far more formidable than Tan Guangji. To be able to learn from such a person was something many Medical College students dreamed of!

Those professors in the academy, let alone comparing to the master before them, fell far short compared to Tan Guangji!

How could Zhou Yadong and Leng Caiwei not be thrilled by such a great opportunity?

“Come with me, let’s head back to the medical hall! From now on, my medical hall will need you to help take care of it. I won’t have time to come here every day…”

As Lin Tian spoke, he walked towards the street to hail a cab.

Hearing this, Zhou Yadong and Leng Caiwei were overjoyed. Even if they only learned the basics from following Lin Tian, it would still be far more than what they could gain after several years at school.

The three of them took a cab and returned to the medical hall on Dragon Nest Road.

As soon as they got out of the cab, Lin Tian noticed that the storefront had undergone a huge transformation.

A new sign hung in the middle of the medical hall, with four boldly calligraphic characters—Changsheng Medical Hall.

On both sides of the storefront, there were several pots of fresh flowers and large billboards, plastered with various claims about the ‘Secret of Immortality’ and ‘Spiritual Elixir’—in essence, greatly exaggerating what Lin Tian had previously said.

Just as the three were approaching, a few renovation workers came out of the medical hall, nodded politely to Lin Tian and the others, and left.

“Hehe, how do you like it? Are you satisfied now?”

Yan Yanxin walked out from inside, hands on her hips, her small face lifted proudly, clearly expecting praise.

“Very good!”

Lin Tian smiled and nodded, then turned to Zhou Yadong and Leng Caiwei, saying, “These are the apprentices I’ve invited… Zhou Yadong and Leng Caiwei. From now on, they will look after the medical hall!”

“As you wish. But now, can you come with me to pick someone up?”

Yan Yanxin glanced at the two, greeted them, and then immediately spoke to Lin Tian.

“Sure!”

With someone else having offered so much help, Lin Tian couldn’t really refuse. He agreed and then told Zhou Yadong and Leng Caiwei, “Get familiar here for now. In a while, Sun Hongsong’s people will deliver some medicinal materials. Help sort them out…”

Afterward, Lin Tian got into Yan Yanxin’s car and left.

“Master’s girlfriend is so beautiful! And it looks like she’s from a great clan, a wealthy family…”

Watching the two leave, Leng Caiwei couldn’t help but exclaim.

Beside her, Zhou Yadong also felt a wave of envy.

Liiu Yuan City International Airport.

Lin Tian followed Yan Yanxin out of the car, looked around, and said, “Who exactly are you picking up? Stop playing riddles with me!”

“Hehe, silly, can’t you guess? It’s my best friend Yaya, of course! Xu Huaiya, who won first place as the strongest singer in the Southern Continent!”

Yan Yanxin watched Lin Tian’s somewhat frustrated questioning, laughed joyfully, her eyes lighting up as she pointed in the direction of the airport terminal and called out, “Yaya is coming out, oh, there are so many reporters. Let’s go around to the back. Yaya will meet up with us after she shakes off these people…”
