One-Eyed Monster

Kadi and Master Lao took no time at all to polish the two knives until they gleamed, while Igor and Stan Sol finished discussing the lyric they were looking at during this time.

”These knives are really something!” Stan Sol couldn’t help but praise them after seeing the knives. For an ancient hunter, this compliment was immensely valuable. An old hunter has seen all sorts of rare treasures, and naturally, has encountered many such weapons. Saying it’s good means the knife is indeed exceptional.

Kadi petted the butterfly and then smiled at Stan Sol, saying, ”Of course, this is good stuff. This butterfly was crafted by none other than Master Artisan Lao of the Yonder Travel Academy. How could it not be stunning!”

”Indeed, stunning! Only now do I notice that both of you have impressive weapons!” Stan Sol, having said this, glanced at the Meteor Sword Igor was carrying, revealing a look of astonishment in his eyes.

Igor understood and directly took the Meteor Sword from his back and handed it to Stan Sol.

Stan Sol received the Meteor Sword like it was a precious treasure, his eyes full of amazement, as if he hadn’t encountered such a fine sword in a long time.

”Did this drop after you defeated that Puppet Monster?” Stan Sol asked without thinking, not yet forming the concept in his subconscious that this Meteor was crafted by Master Lao.

”Uh...” Igor scratched his head, unsure how to explain to Stan Sol that the sword wasn’t something from any Puppet Monster.

”Having such a treasured sword, and one with a Sword Spirit no less, indicates the creature’s strength wasn’t lacking.” Stan Sol marveled to himself, not noticing the strange expression on Igor’s face.

”Haha, that’s right, the creature with this weapon indeed isn’t weak!” Kadi eagerly chimed in, picking up where Stan Sol left off. By ’creature,’ he naturally meant Igor, and in this moment, he was mocking Igor and Stan as two dummies!

”Kadi! Cut it out!” Igor was a bit anxious.

”I’m not causing trouble! Stan didn’t see through it himself, how is that my fault? His eyes were just missing it!” Kadi shrugged, utterly pleased with himself at this moment.

”Uh...” Stan Sol looked at Kadi, then at Igor, suddenly seeming to understand something. Realizing slowly, he became extremely embarrassed. Only then did he realize that the sword he was playing with was also crafted by Master Lao in front of him.

”I’m sorry, I’m sorry, my eyes deceived me!” Stan Sol promptly apologized to the master. Failing to recognize this weapon’s craftsmanship was indeed quite indefensible for Stan.

”It’s nothing, really nothing.” Master Lao was also quite embarrassed by Stan’s apology and didn’t quite know how to respond for a moment.

”This sword is so sharply made, not something an ordinary blacksmith could produce. Just like the pair of knives in Kadi’s hands, it’s a top-notch weapon.”

”Whether a weapon gains renown depends on the user; we who craft them are just passing by, no big deal.” Master Lao waved his hand lightly, viewing all this with a detached perspective. He enjoyed the crafting process, not really the sense of accomplishment after completion.

”Craftsmen are the parents of a weapon, and users are just a catalyst in the weapon’s growth process!” Stan Sol commented, momentarily turning into a weapon appraiser.

”Alright, let’s not dwell on this. Good weapons find good owners, just as Igor and Kadi are destined for these two weapons, so there’s nothing more to say.” Master Lao thought it best not to continue entangling with Sol, as the more entangled, the further it stretches, endlessly like an abyss without a bottom…

”This weapon is truly marvelous!” Stan Sol stroked the Meteor, tapping his fingers on the blade, which instantly emitted a humming sound.

”The Sword Spirit!”

”The sword body!”

”The sword edge!”

...

Stan Sol’s words were full of praise, indicating his deep affection for this sword.

This made Kadi grip his knife tightly, contemplating that he must under no circumstances let Sol see the butterfly, lest this perverse guy starts coveting it.

”If you really like it, I can make a weapon for you!” Master Lao couldn’t bear it anymore, having never seen someone covet another’s weapon so shamelessly as the person before him.

”Uh, sorry, I lost my composure!” Stan Sol came back to his senses and reluctantly returned the Meteor to Igor’s hands.

”Honestly, I can craft one for you.” Master Lao enthusiastically offered to Sol, evidently getting excited at the prospect of crafting weapons.

”Thanks, but I don’t need one!” Stan Sol sincerely declined.

”Oh, you have a weapon already?” Master Lao was very curious.

”Him? He doesn’t need a weapon. His cloak can transform into various weapons, each with a spirit entity.” Igor commented from the side, specifically patting the cloak on Stan Sol, indicating that this creature called the Sharkmon was quite extraordinary.

”Such a magical cloak.” Master Lao was quite eager to see it.

”Yes, I am an ancient hunter, and this cloak is an ancient beast.” With that, Stan Sol showcased the cloak before Master Lao.

The cloak transformed into a sword and then a knife, morphing into numerous forms in an instant.

”I’m a hunter, and I have an innate urge for treasures and curious things. Igor’s Meteor Sword has a Sword Spirit, which fascinates me, hence my earlier excitement!”

”What are you planning?” Igor felt Stan Sol’s gaze on the Meteor shift again, seemingly tinged with greed.

”I want to capture it. How about this, Igor, when your Sword Spirit fully matures, be sure to let me meet it.” Stan Sol straightforwardly made a deal with Igor.

This was a kind of instinct coursing through his veins, a reflex of sorts. As a hunter, Stan Sol harbored the desire to hunt anything that intrigued him.

Igor reluctantly nodded, finding that he didn’t understand his own sword as well as Stan Sol did.

”Oh, this is truly exciting! This feeling is genuinely wonderful!” Sol felt buoyant, having not encountered such a hunting target for a long time, and found it hard to restrain himself.

Master Lao and Kadi both stared blankly at Stan Sol, still unable to fathom why this guy was so thrilled and where his inexplicable joy came from.
