One-Eyed Monster

Igor looked around; there were no more flames jumping out, nor were there any flying stones coming at him. It seemed everything had quieted down.

This is really interesting. Came without a sound, no warning, left without any commotion, like coming and going without a trace.

Oh, actually there was some commotion when leaving, the sound was from Nonoa cutting through the flames, but when the flames disappeared, besides seeing a sky full of sparks, there was truly no sound at all.

”I’m asking you a question, why are you zoning out, you fool!”

”Oh oh, I forgot,” Igor was too busy noticing his surroundings and forgot the question Nonoa had just asked, ”I’m here looking for someone, I’m seeking Tobin Sol!”

”Tobin?” Nonoa seemed familiar with the name, ”What are you looking for him for?”

”I want to bring him back!” Igor said with an innocent face.

”Bring him back, what kind of joke are you pulling, you’re truly a thorough fool!” Nonoa said, with great disdain in his tone.

”What’s wrong, is there a problem?” Igor was confused; he couldn’t understand, isn’t this the Inner World; what’s so mysterious about it.

”No problem, fool, haha.” Now Nonoa’s tone carried a bit more sarcasm.

”Don’t keep calling me fool, is it never-ending? I told you my name is Igor.” Igor was also dissatisfied with being called a fool; he didn’t want to be called that.

Nonoa looked at Igor and then nodded: ”Okay, I won’t call you that, I was wrong, I should call you Fool Igor!”

”Ugh!” Igor was speechless, Nonoa was deliberately provoking him!

”You really are, Fool Igor, look at the commotion you’ve stirred up, even the Flame Demon was alarmed by you, aren’t you a fool!”

”To be honest, I don’t quite understand what you’re saying.” Igor scratched his head, puzzled by who this Nonoa actually was, according to his understanding, this should actually be Tobin, right? Isn’t this Tobin’s Inner World?

”What do you mean you don’t understand, don’t you have a bit of a clue in your heart about where you are?”

What Nonoa said was quite reasonable.

You came here alone, don’t you know where this is, surely you have a bit of a clue.

So Igor confidently said, ”Of course, I know this is the Inner World, it should be Tobin’s Inner World…”

”Inner World? What are you talking about!” Nonoa showed a look of disbelief, as if he had met a primitive person.

”See, I knew you wouldn’t get it, seems you entered by some mistake, no worries, I can reluctantly explain it to you.”

”You fool, you have quite the tone; seems you really are a reckless guy, no wonder you managed to cause such a commotion!”

”I know you have many questions right now, that’s alright, everyone feels like this when they first encounter the Inner World. Back in the day I didn’t understand either, but slowly I got used to it, and then understood, so don’t worry.” Igor began comforting Nonoa, not to be scared by the appearance of the Inner World, it’s nothing.

”Forget it, can’t be bothered to chat with you.” Nonoa felt they didn’t share common ground, so he didn’t want to waste more time.

”Don’t be like that, don’t back down at the slightest difficulty, you need patience, you should…”

”Take care, Fool Igor, this is not the Inner World, don’t bother explaining.” Nonoa finished speaking and walked to the side.

Igor couldn’t just let him walk away; it took a great effort to meet someone in this Inner World, how can anyone just leave like that, he had to follow him properly.

”Fool Igor, stop following me, you can’t keep up.” Nonoa said without turning his head, and soon his whole body disappeared.

!!!

Igor was shocked, what’s going on, how did this person just vanish without saying a word.

”That’s so rude!” Igor shouted in complaint, but around him was empty and there was no one, only his echo returned.

Damn it!

Igor felt inexplicably annoyed, how did he end up in an Inner World he couldn’t even perceive, isn’t the mastery of the Inner World supposed to be contestable, given that, Igor felt it necessary to try to contest the mastery of this Inner World.

Igor unleashed his Spirit Power, trying to perceive the surrounding environment.

Yet blankness, nothing, he felt nothing.

Igor refused to believe it, he tried again to perceive...

Still, he felt nothing.

What’s going on!

Even Igor felt a bit baffled himself.

Could it be this is truly not the Inner World?

Igor started to slowly recall, he found that seemingly everything here was related to the Inner World, but one point didn’t quite match the Inner World; in the Inner World, even if you didn’t have mastery, you could still create something, but here, Igor seemed unable to create anything.

Everything was completely blank.

Wait, when he was being chased by flames earlier, it seemed like whatever he thought came to be, at that time it seemed to align a little with the characteristics of the Inner World, is it only disasters that this special Inner World recognizes?

Though Igor was unwilling, he had to try; this issue was bothering him, he had to resolve it.

”Bring on more flames! Or flying stones will do!” He released his Spirit Power according to the usual creation method in the Inner World, trying to create a disaster...

However, he waited and waited, and nothing came.

Neither did flames emerge, nor did flying stones crash down, only the whistling wind swooping past his ears bringing a gust of deep winter chill.

Could it be this is really not the Inner World? Once again, Igor thought about this issue, now Nonoa’s voice was swirling in his mind.

No way, he still had to find that guy.

But this place was so vast, Nonoa said if he disappeared, then he disappeared; where would he go to find him?

Igor looked around, everything was so indistinct that he didn’t know which direction to go.

Which direction should I head?

This question started to bother Igor once again, he kept looking around wanting to find a tree, so he could break a branch and decide his direction by tossing the branch.

Yet around was still all indistinct, nothing there, Igor instantly felt perplexed as well.

What should I do?

Igor became chaotic; he felt a bit disoriented, he had to do something...

Run, he had been running for a long time before, seems the thing he did the most here was running.

Then keep running!
