One-Eyed Monster

Igor couldn’t help but sigh internally. How transient life is, and not everyone gives up on things so easily.

Bigas had now found Xiso, her lover, whose story was once destined to become a legend. They met again, but times had changed. They had transformed, not just in appearance but in many other ways.

Xiso’s appearance and mindset had undergone a radical transformation. As for Bigas, her changes were relatively minor. Apart from advancing fully from a White Robe to a Holy Robe, her appearance remained unchanged. However, her temper had become increasingly unbearable.

Everyone in the Wizard Alliance knew that Bigas’s temper had become increasingly strange ever since the Scholar Counselor disappeared.

No one could quite fathom Bigas’s temper. Her stubbornness was something everyone could tolerate; after all, she was the young lady of the influential Kangen Family, so having the temper of a wealthy young miss was quite normal. But what about her explosive temper? She would fight at the slightest provocation, leaving no room for leeway. This was not like a woman at all; it was more like the actions of a brute. That wasn’t all; her arrogant demeanor was even harder for people to understand. It seemed as though Bigas held the entire world in contempt.

Bigas and Xiso were now at Twin Peaks. Neither of them could clearly describe their current state. Was it a reunion after a prolonged absence, or a fleeting encounter before a final farewell? This, perhaps, only the two of them could explain.

Witch Biggs had been following Bigas, feeling as if ’awkward’ was written all over her face at that moment. She was superfluous between these lovers. She had originally thought of leaving, but Bigas stopped her. Bigas said that she needed a witness at this moment.

Witch Biggs didn’t know what Bigas wanted her to witness. However, she could clearly sense that in front of this monster, her junior martial sister displayed a kind of gentleness. Others might not sense it, but Witch Biggs could, because she had grown up with this young lady and understood her temperament very well. It was just that she was more accustomed to immersing herself in books on Spellcraft and didn’t quite understand matters of her junior martial sister’s heart.

In her eyes, these two would roar one moment and be silent the next; she had no idea what they were up to. She felt they were completely wasting time here. However, since her junior martial sister was willing, there was nothing she could do. After all, her junior martial sister was a Holy Robe Wizard, and a Holy Robe Wizard had the power to order a Gray Robe Wizard to do things. So, her awkwardness was set to continue for a long time.

However, awkwardness wasn’t scary; what was scary was Bigas’s temper. Witch Biggs feared Bigas would erupt on the spot, and the consequences would be unimaginable... And from the current situation, the possibility of Bigas erupting was very high because the pale, withered monster opposite her was not complying with Bigas’s wishes. This was really getting out of hand. In terms of strength, the monster opposite was merely a Scholar. How could it contend with a Holy Robe Wizard? But strangely, that monster didn’t seem to fear Bigas much.

”Why won’t you even look at me!”

”I told you, I have important matters at hand!”

”Do you realize you’ve offended me many times in this short period!”

”Can you stop being so unreasonable? You know what just happened here.”

”Of course, I know. I too am a Soul Guardian here, but do you know why I became a Soul Guardian!”

Bigas and Xiso continued talking like this, a sentence here, a sentence there. Others couldn’t understand what they were discussing at all. This state had persisted for some time. During this period, Xiso had been intentionally or unintentionally avoiding Bigas. It was at that moment he unlocked the Great Mentor’s Fog Elixir, and also when he analyzed what actions to take against Kuyi Tulan.

When Bigas saw Xiso, she was almost dumbfounded. She had never imagined her lover was still alive in this world, much less that he was on Guru Mountain, the very mountain she guarded.

Bigas’s temperament changed drastically after Xiso disappeared. She even went as far as to break ties with the Kangen Family and join the Soul Guardians. The Soul Guardian organization was originally part of the Kangen Family. This willful young lady, disregarding everyone’s opposition, resolutely took the Soul Guardian oath and swore she would marry no one but Xiso in this lifetime. The elders of the Kangen Family were helpless but could do nothing about this Wizard who had just advanced to a Holy Robe. After breaking with her family, Bigas was constantly in a state of irascibility and gradually took her willfulness to the extreme. Her arrogant heart became unbearable to others. Gradually, she began to hold the entire world in contempt.

Yet Bigas, who looked down on the whole world, actually fell silent before Xiso, staring blankly as he avoided her... She just watched blankly as Xiso unlocked the Fog Elixir on each monster, and watched just as blankly as Xiso analyzed the pros and cons of the situation. In her heart, no matter what Xiso had become, he was still that Xiso: the youngest Scholar Counselor in the army, with a legion of admirers, who would always stand in front of others in the most dangerous moments, and who also had a dull head... Oh, this foolish head, how could it not understand another’s feelings? She had nothing left to pursue in this life, having muddled through all these years in the Wizard Alliance and among the Soul Guardians!

Now, Bigas had finally seen her lover again, but her lover didn’t dare to look her in the eye... It was truly heartbreaking.

When Xiso disappeared, Bigas was filled with regret. She felt she should have been guarding the Alchemy Workshop at all times back then. But the Kangen Family rules still bound her at that time, and she had also harbored illusions about Xiso’s silence... Facts proved her wrong. She should have made her choice before Xiso made his. This delay in choosing made her lose her beloved lover!

Now, she had finally found Xiso. Regardless of who gave her the information, the moment she learned of it, she had rushed to Guru Mountain. The Soul Guardians’ mission was merely a pretext for her. The Kangen Family managed the entire Soul Guardians. Even if she had broken with her family, she could still call the shots within the Soul Guardian Team. Her purpose in coming here was to see if Xiso was truly here.

”Do you know? Do you even know how much I’ve changed for you!” Bigas was a bit agitated at this moment; her previous arrogance and cold beauty vanished all at once. It seemed as if the nerve she had kept taut all this time could finally relax at this moment...
