One-Eyed Monster

Kadi blinked.

He stretched out his left hand, then his right hand, back and forth, and kept shrugging his shoulders.

It was obvious he was demonstrating to everyone that he could move, unaffected and nimble.

This was indeed a peculiar occurrence.

Everyone else had lost their ability to move. Only he could move freely, unaffected by the Great Mentor’s Fog Elixir, which was quite strange.

Everyone knew the potency of the Great Mentor’s Fog Elixir. They had never seen anyone exposed to it who could still move freely.

Even strong individuals like Kevin would fall upon contact with the Fog Elixir, let alone anyone else.

The Fog Elixir was originally designed for hunting in the deep woods of Guru Mountain, for when they encountered dangerous situations. Sometimes, they would encounter savage animals like the Savage Bear on Guru Mountain, and the Elixir was handy for those occasions.

Consider this: even the ferocious Savage Bear would fall motionless against this elixir. Did the others possess the physical constitution of a Savage Bear?

This was even more true for little Kadi, who was as slender as a monkey and loved to play in the trees.

Could it be that Kadi was born with a constitution stronger than the Savage Bear? They almost laughed. They had watched Kadi grow up; how could they not understand his condition?

Kadi did not possess a strong physique, but his nature was fundamentally different from theirs.

They were all victims of the Kuyi Tulan Project, all experimental subjects. Their transformation was due to external elements; fundamentally, they were still human, only their appearances had changed.

But Kadi was different. He was born unusual, or perhaps, he had been unusual from the moment they first met him.

So, Kadi was fundamentally different from them. With this realization, they calmly accepted it and didn’t dwell on it further.

That said, their understanding of Kadi wasn’t formed overnight. They knew he wasn’t naturally strong. Kadi distinguished himself by wreaking havoc, occasionally displaying inexplicable strength, but they would never agree that Kadi was naturally powerful.

Kadi was sensitive and weak; they knew this from the start.

From the moment they found Kadi, he was a sensitive child.

At that time, they had just entered Guru Mountain. Amid the thick fog, they heard the cry of a baby. When they parted the reeds in the marshland within the fog, they found little Kadi. Little Kadi with only one eye.

At that moment, they assumed he was just another deformed child, abandoned after a failed experiment. Seeing Kadi’s pitiful cries, they and the Great Mentor adopted him without hesitation.

But as time passed, they realized this one-eyed little fellow was not like them. He often showed hostility towards them, likely an instinctive reaction. When they tried to feed him, he would become agitated and resistant. However, if they left the food and quietly departed, he would cautiously approach it and then wolf it down...

The process was complicated. Thinking about it now, it indeed evoked nostalgia.

Therefore, they accepted that Kadi was unaffected by the Great Mentor’s Fog Elixir. Although the process was somewhat complicated, once they understood it, they were no longer surprised.

Even though Kadi could move freely, what good would it do?

As Kadi himself had said, ”What can I do?”

What could Kadi do? This was a serious question.

Who could imagine what Kadi could do at this moment? Should he stop the Great Mentor? This seemed like a good idea, but the question was, how could he do it?

With Kadi’s strength, it was impossible to approach the Great Mentor.

Great Mentor Guzan was surrounded by a Spirit Defense. This defense was so strong that even Kevin would have to expend great effort to breach it, let alone Kadi. It was an impossible task.

The Great Mentor’s Spirit Defense had a vast range. He needed to ensure he could absorb enough Spirit Power, so he had made the defensive field exceptionally large. Ordinary people had no way to breach it; even Kuyi Tulan would have to rack his brains to forcefully break through this barrier.

It could be said that the Great Mentor’s Spirit Defense was invincible. He could have used it to deal with the Dark Force, but unfortunately, at the time, he felt the Twin Peaks issue was more pressing and diverted his energy there, leaving this group he deemed reliable to resist the Dark Force.

The results proved the Great Mentor’s choice was correct: in his absence, they successfully resisted the Dark Force, but the Twin Peaks collapsed.

The current awkward situation left many at a loss for words.

Igor looked at Kuren, Kuren looked at Yuga. The only thing they could move was their gaze...

”I can move, but I can’t do anything!” Kadi found this awkward situation embarrassing. He always felt useless, unable to be of any assistance at such a crucial moment.

At this moment, Stan Sol suddenly remembered something and looked desperately at Igor. He had a communication impairment that made him speak very slowly, so he hoped his spokesperson could assist him.

”There... there is...” Stan Sol struggled to articulate his thoughts. He had used too much Spirit Power just now, which made his stuttering worse.

What Stan Sol wanted to convey was that Kadi could be helpful, and that he had a way to stop the Great Mentor, provided Kadi followed his instructions.

Stan Sol had made his decision early on. He couldn’t just stand by and watch the Great Mentor clash with Kuyi Tulan.

The Great Mentor was wrong about one thing: this wasn’t just about him. Dastan was a member of the Sol Family—his family—and he would surely seek justice for Dastan.

But not now!

Stan Sol was certain about this. It was the Great Mentor who had stopped him from impulsively confronting the Devil, teaching him that emotions cloud judgment.

The Great Mentor was currently blinded by his emotions, and Stan Sol couldn’t let him continue down this mistaken path. He had a way to stop the Great Mentor; he was very clear on this because the final task the Great Mentor had entrusted to him had opened his mind.

He intended to teleport the Great Mentor away. As long as Kadi could get close to the Great Mentor, Stan Sol could then use the Teleportation Spell, and Kadi was precisely the bridge needed for this connection!
