Our Family Has Fallen

But some existences do not need human senses; their aura leaks out, and that guy will come looking for him.

This place must be abandoned, and he must leave quickly.

As for revenge?

He can no longer care about that because what was chasing him was...

.....

Hamlet, Leprosy Camp.

”This is the last treatment. After today, you will be freed from the pain of leprosy.” Lance looked at Baldwin lying on the hospital bed and emphasized once again, ”In Hamlet, you will receive redemption.”

Although Lance didn’t show much pressure in front of Amanda and the others, he still understood that the current situation in Hamlet was not good. They had offended too many forces, yet their strength had not fully developed.

That’s why he decided to speed up Baldwin’s treatment progress, even if it cost a bit of Spiritual Essence, to quickly increase a top-tier force for Hamlet.

”I’m ready.” Baldwin’s voice was deep, but it was no longer hoarse, and breathing was no longer difficult. It was obvious that his physical condition had improved greatly.

So no one understood Lance’s words better than him.

He would gain a new life!

Through a series of processes, the body, activated with regenerative abilities, was continuously repairing old damages.

But for Lance, that’s still not enough.

Flesh Reconstruction, activate!

The ulcerated skin, damaged mucous membranes, and rigid muscles were restored at a terrifying speed under the impact of Extraordinary power.

Tough skin, strong muscles, and the hidden power within the body were unleashed, vibrant Life Force filled that form.

Lance was also somewhat fatigued; the cost of restoring the flesh of a strong person would be higher. What he could do was essentially only surface-level work, like a cosmetic surgeon restoring his terrifying exterior, without attempting to fix the lingering issues of old injuries.

It’s not that he’s short on Spiritual Essence, but one must conserve, and Lance understood the principle of proceeding gradually.

However, with the recovery reaching this state, he certainly possesses Champion’s Power.

Even though Baldwin had been tormented by leprosy for so many years, he was still tricky for even Warwolf back then. If he hadn’t become ill, he definitely would be Legendary.

But the strength in those circumstances was unstable, relying heavily on a body full of Extraordinary Equipment and those Secret Techniques to unleash power briefly.

Didn’t you see him wheezing hard after killing a dozen heretics at the time, forcing him to use Secret Techniques to boost himself?

Now, the Champion’s power is solid and very stable; even Lance would not easily defeat him.

Because, unlike Warwolf, Baldwin has a set of Extraordinary Equipment on him; even the broken sword he holds is not an ordinary object.

”How do you feel?”

Baldwin didn’t speak; he just clenched his fists, experiencing that unfamiliar sensation again — a long-missed strength!

It’s back... it’s all back... The burden on the body was cleared, the senses clearly presented the world, blindness and deafness vanished, breathing no longer felt like swallowing coal, the necrotic sensation was restored, he could even feel the air flowing.

”From now on, you don’t need to wear a mask anymore.”

This reminder from Lance woke Baldwin up to something, he looked down at his hands and his gaze gradually spread to his arms.

Suddenly, he raised his hand to tear off the bandage that seeped filth due to the earlier treatment, peeling off a layer of black scab, revealing the smooth skin underneath; the once ulcerous skin had actually healed.

Seemingly realizing something, Baldwin’s hands, almost uncontrollably and tremblingly, reached for his face, feeling those uneven things and then forcibly tearing them away, the pieces of black scab and residual hair.

”Take a look.”

Lance’s voice awakened him, and raising his head, there was a mirror in front of him, reflecting not oozing flesh but a distinct face, though lacking eyebrows and hair, giving him a somewhat indifferent appearance.

The scene in the mirror instantly brought Baldwin back to those years, but unlike the youthful handsomeness, now his face bore a weathered aura, as if those eyes were filled with stories.

”This is... me...”

Men don’t easily shed tears; they simply haven’t reached a place of heartache.

Even a tough guy like Baldwin couldn’t help but shed tears full of bitterness at this moment.

No one would say they don’t care about this, even though leprosy had healed, the damage to the body still existed, and appearance was the most obvious, as if it reminded them that they were those cursed by divine wrath, still bearing strange looks.

So all this time, he still wore a mask, wrapped in bandages, just wanting to conceal that ugly exterior.

But now, it’s healed, completely healed!

He received redemption in Hamlet!!!

”Wash your face and take a break, I’ll go out and share this good news with everyone first.”

Lance didn’t give him more time to calm down; it was time to further gather the hearts of other leprosy patients.

Baldwin wiped away the traces left on his face by treatment, along with the remaining corner pieces of scab, and walked out of the tent seemingly carrying a mission.

By that time Lance had already started talking to those leprosy patients, showing concern and understanding their situations, his posture was well-performed.

And those patients were extremely grateful to Lance, treating him as a revered god.

For a simple reason: the disease was genuinely improving.

Most of them have now rid themselves of further invasion by leprosy, only some residual effects were left to resolve, which was just a matter of time.

For those tormented by suffering, someone who could cure the divine wrath and save them, isn’t he a god?

And when Baldwin appeared, his restored visage caused those people to tremble uncontrollably.

The Seed that struggled desperately in despair finally birthed a flower of hope in Hamlet.

”I said, in Hamlet, you will receive redemption.” Lance naturally stepped forward, capturing all their attention at once, causing almost everyone to cheer loudly.

”Hamlet!”

”Long live the Lord!”

”...”

Lance comforted them and then led Baldwin out of the camp, taking the opportunity to reveal a current issue.

”We’ve run out of potion for treatment, I need to venture into the wild again to gather the materials for production.”

”I am willing to alleviate the Lord’s worries.” Baldwin naturally offered to go, even before he wasn’t afraid, and now that he had recovered so much, he was keen to do something.

But to Baldwin’s proactive volunteering, Lance shook his head with an expression of great difficulty.

”You’re unfamiliar with the environment here; the situation in Hamlet is very complicated, a cult that seeks apocalypse is entrenched...”

Lance took the opportunity to briefly explain to him the enemy Hamlet was facing, mainly pulling out the Ascension Sect as a target, focusing on describing the things the Ascension Sect was doing.

”To fight against the evil cult, my Hamlet family lost everything, large lands were occupied by the cult, and now only I am left.”

Indeed, Baldwin was someone who couldn’t bear these stories, after hearing it he further affirmed his stance with Hamlet.

”Such evil cannot be tolerated!” Baldwin’s voice was low, clenching his fist, his words exuded an unwavering resolve, ”I am ready.”

He was quite pragmatic, unlike others who would immediately ask where the church was, instead, he personally decided to get involved.

Still, Lance didn’t agree.

”Fighting against the evil cult is Hamlet’s matter; you don’t need to risk yourself for this. Those monsters are not simple, even I feel pressured by their cruelty.”

Lance retreated to advance, suppressing his exuberant sense of justice.

”Under the Lord’s grace, to be without thoughts of repayment, how is it different from a thief?” Baldwin naturally felt Lance’s rejection but he wasn’t willing to just receive unconditional sanctuary.

Lance listened to his peculiar words; this person was definitely of noble origin and highly esteemed, otherwise, how could his tone have that antique charme? If it weren’t for his archaeological studies, he wouldn’t understand.

But he could sense his strong desire to do something, which was a normal reaction for people.

The kind of person who wants to enjoy benefits unconditionally but doesn’t want to bear responsibilities Lance wouldn’t accept.
