Our Family Has Fallen

When people fall into extreme panic, they instinctively grasp at any possible hope.

Michelle doesn’t care whether Lance is pretending or not; even if he realizes it, he’d rather believe this person is truly afraid.

”Know what fear is now? Then let me go quickly.”

”Since you’re here, I must treat you to a few dishes. Have you ever tried ’Ants Climbing a Tree’?” Lance’s smile grows more grotesque, his gaze locking onto Michelle’s.

”I’m not in favor of skinning because it causes more nerve damage and is prone to fatal infections. Actually, we just need to scald your foot in boiling water.

In less than three days, blisters will form and fester, then we can pierce the blisters and tear off that layer of skin to get a complete foot without skin, while keeping the nerves intact and most sensitive.

Soaking it in honey water will attract ants, which will crawl on it, nibbling at the flesh bit by bit, the pain and itch are uniquely exhilarating.”

”No... please... spare me, I’ll give you money! A lot of money!” Upon hearing this, Michelle’s legs go weak, falling to the ground in a wail.

”Don’t like it?” Lance remains unfazed, smacking his lips, ”Then how about a change to lamb skewers? Thin wooden skewers inserted into the nail gaps, just think, you have ten nails, how many skewers can fit?”

”Wow! No, I want to go home, go home...” Michelle cries out, just thinking about it makes his soul tremble, causing him to grovel on the ground.

He loved seeing those who wished to resist but were powerless, the disgrace in their eyes, the wails and screams.

But now that all this has fallen upon himself, he realizes how terrifying it truly is.

He originally believed himself to be an expert in tormenting others, making those under his grasp wish they were dead, yet this person is even more ruthless.

”Still don’t like it?” Lance remains unaffected, laughingly adds a sentence, ”Don’t worry, we Hamlet are very hospitable, there’s plenty of hearty dishes to choose from.”

Reynard and Dismas remain silent at the side, provoked the wrong person, the Lord, have to make the Transcendent suffer since they can’t be killed.

Seeing Michelle collapse into despair, Lance is uninterested in wasting more time on him, gesturing towards Dismas.

”He’s yours now, since he can’t remember, I’ll reserve a room for him in the sanatorium to help him regain his memory.”

Before finishing, he adds, ”Ah! By the way, go get two shots of the new medicine from the doctor, don’t let him die so quickly.”

With the Lord’s consent, Dismas no longer hesitates, immediately grabbing Michelle by the hand.

Realizing his fate is sealed, Michelle emits a series of maddening screams.

”Ah!!! I’ll kill you all! Kill...”

”Shut up!” Dismas doesn’t coddle him, delivering a punch to knock him out before dragging him away.

”Aren’t you curious?” Lance turns to Reynard, ”This is a big shot.”

”The Lord naturally has his reasons for acting this way.” Reynard doesn’t think much, the Lord certainly has his considerations, all he needs to do is carry out orders.

Loyalty!

Despite this, Lance still explains, riddle speaking is a hazardous act.

”Those heretics, although crazy, have their purposes, whereas this person is pure scum, torturing for entertainment without any purpose.

Over the years, the people directly or indirectly dead because of him could outnumber the two of us combined; he’s a demon walking in the human world, just killing him would leave many unable to swallow the injustice.”

”In my opinion, even typical rooms in a sanatorium can’t contain him anymore, a private room is necessary.”

Reynard has no sympathy for such scum, and from the Lord’s words and the recent incidents, he roughly guesses this battle isn’t solely about justice; Dismas seems to be one of the victims.

The Lord willing to shoulder responsibility for someone like Dismas is beyond other noble lords.

What is a sense of security?

Aside from the Lord, who else can achieve this?

This is the Lord’s powerful charm, not in force, but in the heart.

”Take this Transcendent back to the sanatorium, Michelle’s identity is somewhat precarious, publicly declare it as an exercise, those captives should bypass the town, sent directly to the development zone as labor.

The convoy under Walter Trading Group, split into squads of ten cars, distributing to the farms outside town, thinning a portion, and temporarily store the seized weapons, handle afterwards...”

Though claiming not to worry, Lance has little time to deal with other affairs, thus this matter will be concealed as long as possible, at least until he deals with the Old Ancestor’s menace.

”Yes!”

Reynard picks up the Transcendent and turns to leave, beginning to handle follow-up issues.

Lance refocuses on the stiff, standing Heavy Armor Puppet, studying it.

This thing, whether called human or wax figure, how did they make it move?

Is a gentle flame needed?

Lance is curious, just as he thinks about testing it, he senses someone coming, turning his head to look…

”Why did you capture everyone?” Margaret comes over carrying a gun.
