I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 333: Chapter 224: The Magitek Constructs

The dwarf Sorin shouted loudly.

The loud voice instantly startled all the teammates immersed in the joy of acquiring weapons.

Everyone followed his gaze and looked around, only to discover many ”enemies” had appeared without them realizing, all glaring at them menacingly.

”It’s magical constructs!!”

The knowledgeable Nancy instantly recognized the identity of the enemies.

These guardians that resemble statues are combat golems driven by metal, rock, magic patterns, and cores.

They are creations of dwarf craftsmen meant for slaughter, and even after hundreds of years, they can tirelessly and loyally execute the programs set by their original masters.

These magical constructs are supported by dark metal skeletons and covered with rock armor plates on their bodies, with runic energy flickering all over their joints and body surfaces, and red light glowing in their eye sockets.

The weapons they hold vary, some carrying large battle axes, others wielding heavy spiked maces or long whips, but despite the different weapons and appearances, all constructs exude a cold killing intent.

”Prepare for battle!”

Gauss and Sorin instinctively took the front of the team, standing on either side to vaguely shield the entire group behind them.

Any enemy that wished to pass would first be blocked by them.

This is the benefit of having two or more people on the front line.

Most of the time, relying solely on one person’s strength can only form a point-like protective area, but if two or more people form a line, they can mutually respond and care for each other, creating a relatively stable defensive line to firmly protect the fragile casters, supporters, and other ranged professions behind them.

At the rear, Serdur and Elton quickly cast temporary divine art enhancements on the ”front line” before battle.

”Let’s take them down!” Sorin let out a powerful battle cry, slamming his heavy shield on the ground with a dull thunderous sound, provoking the fast approaching magical constructs.

An earthy yellow glow faintly shimmered around him, making him exude an aura of steadfastness, rooted in the earth.

Is this some kind of enemy attraction skill that draws hatred?

Gauss noticed in an instant after Sorin’s move, most of the magical constructs turned their heads towards the dwarf Sorin, their red eyes seemingly glowing even brighter.

However, such creatures are ordinary, but can these constructs also be attracted by skills?

Gauss could only marvel at the magical effect of skills.

But now was not the time to dwell on such thoughts, Gauss fastened the White Magic Wand to the side of his thigh using a special ”wand sheath,” a tool that safely secures the wand while allowing for quick drawing when needed.

Keeping it close also allows him to benefit from the enhancement effects of the White Magic Wand.

He crouched slightly, and the newly acquired ”Windstrider” in his hand emitted a clear humm.

He, Sorin, three Clay Spiders, and one Clay Jackal Wolfman stood at the front forming a solid defensive line.

As the goal was to block the first wave of enemy charges and hold their aggression to prevent teammates from facing the enemy directly, he did not initiate an attack.

The next moment, the battle erupted.

The magical constructs wielding battle axes and spiked maces charged at the front line first, their cold weapons carrying the momentum to crush everything fiercely towards Sorin and Gauss.

Sorin did not dodge, using his shield to angle upwards, and the earthy yellow light burst out from the shield in an instant. At the moment of collision between mace and shield, a faint white shockwave appeared in the air, then the momentum of the magical construct was abruptly halted and it even flew backward as the yellow light intensified.

Gauss, on the other hand, did not withstand as Sorin did but instead displayed remarkable agility.

He swiftly ducked into a slide step, precisely avoiding the battle axe that roared past, and at the moment it passed by, the ”Windstrider” in his hand activated the Wind Pressure effect like a snake ready to strike.

The tip of the sword, carrying sharp wind pressure, struck the wrist joint of the construct wielding the weapon.

Boom!!

A burst of concentrated impact exploded, the swinging motion of the construct was suddenly halted, and even a small crack appeared on the rock armor plate at its wrist.

Although he ultimately couldn’t completely destroy it with a single hit, he successfully disrupted its attack rhythm and caused its weapon to drop.

Could the strength not be as high as imagined? Was it because it has been idle for too long?

Thoughts flashed through Gauss’s mind.

However, other magical constructs soon surged forward.

Distracting his attention.

”Scaled Bloodline!” As energy scales reappeared on his skin, that familiar immense power quickly surged throughout his body.

His muscles slightly swelled, lines became more defined, and his strength, stamina, and senses all improved to varying degrees briefly.

Also, the magic pattern energy flow on the surface of the constructs gradually became clear in his vision.

So severing here could effectively strike them?

Behind Gauss, others also prepared their spells.

Vines began to grow from the ground, reaching to bind the magical constructs.

The constructs of course wouldn’t stand idly as vines entangled them, and just as they moved their steps trying to dodge, farther away, Mage Nancy completed her incantation, and she waved out her magic wand.

The space where numerous magical constructs stood seemed to have been framed, and in the next instant, an unspeakable distorted ripple swept across the area.

In an instant, the air seemed to become extremely viscous, and the light underwent slight refraction under the effect of magic, making objects in the space appear somewhat blurry and wobbly.
