I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 308: Chapter 216: Crawlers’ Advancement (Part 3)

Four clay spiders appeared around him.

Unfortunately, those two clay devotees were left back in the Black Forest. Although he issued a command for their return in the final moments, it remains uncertain if they can be recovered.

Gauss issued a command to the clay spiders to autonomously fight and assist around him and his companions, then he himself brandished his longsword and charged forward.

A dark green arm was climbing over the parapet wall, soon followed by a hairless and ugly head slowly rising.

Gauss was quick and nimble.

The fine steel longsword in his hand pierced through the goblin’s neck right as it climbed up.

The goblin couldn’t even let out a scream before Gauss ended its life, the body limply dropping down the wall.

”Goblin killed *1”

The most numerous creatures present were the goblins. These green-skinned brats are the cheapest ”troops” in the forest, even if completely slaughtered, they grow back quickly like weeds by the roadside.

Gauss took a deep breath, suppressing the slight nervousness of participating in his first large-scale siege defense, his gaze gradually becoming more resolute.

Whether it’s an adventure commission, cave exploration, or the current siege defense, he only needs to focus on one thing—killing monsters, killing goblins is enough!

And this is precisely his forte.

His steps moved swiftly, his extraordinary vision continuously patrolling the wall, quickly spotting several monsters about to climb up.

The longsword swung out, either stabbing or slashing, clearing the monsters climbing over the surrounding parapet with precision and efficiency.

For a while, no monster could set foot on the wall.

The four clay spiders also faithfully executed commands, swiftly crawling around Gauss, Aaliyah, and Serdur, sometimes suddenly leaping up to pierce the eyes or throat of small monsters with sharp limbs, sometimes spraying thick webs to wrap and stick enemies to the wall, creating attack opportunities for others.

They knew no fear and would not tire, like machines of merciless life harvesting.

”Total monster kills: 2430”

”Total monster kills: 2431”

....

The bestiary kill tally continued to rise.

Gauss didn’t pay attention to these, lost in the act of killing.

A soldier was knocked down by three goblins.

As the goblins raised their daggers, about to stab downward, a cold gleam swept past.

Three heads erupted with thick, sticky blood, flying skyward.

The soldier, surviving a narrow escape, had his vision blurred by the sticky blood, looked up seeing a tall dark-robed figure, panting heavily, quickly expressing thanks.

”Tha... Thank you!!”

”Hmm.”

Gauss severed the vine on the wall.

He looked down.

Sure enough, he saw more vines growing along the packed earth wall.

More monsters were climbing up these vines.

The besieging monster army also had casters among them.

Moreover, Gauss looked into the distance.

Behind the monster army, there were faint flashes of firelight. Of course, this was not due to creatures deliberately exposing themselves.

It was the mane, tail, and four hooves of the horse-like demons naturally swirling with flames, emitting light in the night, allowing Gauss to see their silhouette from afar.

”It’s a nightmare!”

Nightmares, also known as ”fury stallions,” ”infernal steeds,” generally challenge levels above 3.

They serve like warhorses to outstanding evil creatures and are often summoned from other planes by various types of demons with casting abilities.

At this moment, the creatures riding on the nightmares were vaguely visible humanoid figures.

Being able to effortlessly ride nightmares, their strength far exceeds the nightmares themselves.

Gauss looked towards a spot, Andri floated in the air.

Holding a large section of the wall firmly.

Despite the small body, it exuded an intimidating pressure.

With a light tap of the magic staff, scorching fireballs flew forth as if alive, accurately smashing into the densest area of creatures below the wall.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Explosions erupted one after another, flames ascended, large numbers of monsters were accurately hit, the stench of scorched flesh mixed with the wails of demons permeated the air.

The flames she commanded were exceptionally agile, sometimes transforming into rolling fire waves, sweeping away the creatures in masses, sometimes condensing into scorching arrows, precisely targeting those elite monsters attempting to throw javelins or cast spells.

It was due to her powerful spell cast station that the pressure on a long section of wall was greatly relieved.

Soldiers and adventurers were greatly encouraged, intensifying efforts to clear sporadic enemies climbing up.

”So strong...”

Gauss couldn’t help but marvel after merely a glance.

It was his first time observing elite professionals deploying attacks at such close proximity.

One could only say that the power of master-level professionals indeed transformed drastically.

Whether it was basic monsters or elite monsters seemed to make no difference in her hands.

Moreover, Gauss vaguely felt her ability was not merely ordinary master-level...

On the long wall, besides Andri, there were several other master-level professionals present.

From a bird’s eye view, they dispersed, guarding their respective sections of the wall, simultaneously managing areas they couldn’t handle, just like Gauss, executing powerful elite combat forces for these sweeps.

For a time, the humans who were somewhat hasty in the face of the monster onslaught gradually steadied their footing.

Just as Gauss thought this.

Suddenly several deafening explosions occurred in succession.

”Bang!”

”Bang!”

”Bang!!”

Powerful shockwaves accompanied by intense flames shot skyward, the wall Gauss stood on trembled.
