Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 1197 -835: The Golden Bird_2

“I’m not here to seek refuge, but aunt, I think now is not the time to talk about this.” Grindelwald raised an eyebrow and looked at Kael standing by the roadside. “It seems you have a guest.”

“A guest?” Bathilda Bagshot turned her head and saw Kael as well.

Out of courtesy, she washed her muddy hands in a birdbath before walking over to ask:

“Who are you, and why are you standing in front of my house?”

“Ah, sorry.” Kael said somewhat awkwardly, he had been so absorbed in listening that he stopped unconsciously, not expecting to be noticed so quickly.

“Actually, I’m here traveling.” Kael quickly thought of a reason and said, “I wanted to ask if there’s a place nearby where I can get accommodation.”

“Traveling?” Bathilda frowned, “What’s there to see in this place.”

“There are some things after all, it’s the birthplace of Godric Gryffindor, and as a member of Hogwarts, I’ve always wanted to visit.”

“You know this is where Gryffindor was born?”

For some reason, Bathilda’s eyes lit up, and she suddenly became excited.

“What’s so strange about that?” Kael couldn’t help but step back a little, “Isn’t it something that everyone knows? This place is called Godric’s Hollow, and Gryffindor is also called Godric.”

“No no no, not many people know.” Bathilda shook her finger, “Nowadays, people mostly think this is where Gryffindor met Ravenclaw, very few know it’s his birthplace.

“You must have read many books on magic history to find this out, I bet you’ve read ‘Crossing the Muddy Valleys’ and ‘Wizards of the Tenth Century.’

“Uh… uh…” Kael let out a dry laugh.

In fact, he hadn’t even heard of those two books, the only one he had read was “Magic History.”

The origin of the name Godric’s Hollow was from the contents of that book, moreover, it was covered in the first lesson of his first year, so these things seemed no different from common knowledge to him.

But Kael suddenly realized that “Magic History” was Bathilda Bagshot’s work, and at the current point in time, this book hadn’t been written yet.

“Ah, yes, I’ve read it.” Kael could only respond courageously.

“So you’re also a student who likes magic history?” Bathilda looked even more enthusiastic.

“I also love magic history, I find unearthing stories hidden in time very interesting, which is why I moved here.”

“I’m hard-pressed to understand your preference, aunt.” Grindelwald’s voice came from upstairs again, “Magic is what’s most enchanting, history is something best left in the past.”

“Shut up, Gellert, or I’ll send you back.” Bathilda said fiercely, like an angry fire dragon.

Under the threat of the fire dragon, the golden bird immediately closed its beak.

“Sorry, child.” Bathilda turned her head, smiling again, “Don’t mind him, he is Gellert Grindelwald, my grand-nephew, a student at Durmstrang.

“I’m sure you know, that school is full of fools who like to let muscles rule their bodies, they simply can’t grasp the allure of history.”

“I’m not, I was expelled!” Grindelwald corrected.

“Do you think that’s something to be proud of?” Bathilda shouted.

“At least I’m not a fool.” Grindelwald said with a grin, jumping down from the windowsill and landing steadily on the ground.

“Are you really a student of historical studies?” He scrutinized Kael up and down.

To be honest, Kael’s back was already sweaty.

In his original plan, he would not interact with anyone in Godric’s Hollow, he would just quietly wait for Dumbledore.

Diagon Alley didn’t matter, it was far enough away, unrelated to his plans, as long as he didn’t do anything outrageous… like releasing a basilisk to slaughter the whole street, anything else would be slowly washed away by time.

That was also his advantage, because a hundred years ago there was no other Kael, in a sense, he was a person from this era.

But Godric’s Hollow was different, the people here were all oddities, the most troublesome among them being Grindelwald and Dumbledore, Kael found it hard to guarantee his excuse would surely fool them.

Moreover, they were the main players in the following decades, having a huge impact, and interacting with them was too risky.

But by now, abruptly leaving was impossible, Kael could only brace himself and say: “Yes, I do like magic history.”

“Do you know where Durmstrang is?” Grindelwald squinted.

“Gellert.” Bathilda frowned, “You…”

“It’s okay, aunt.” Grindelwald shook his head and said, “He doesn’t seem much older, probably a student too, since he’s a student, he’d surely be interested in other magic schools.”

“Ah, yes, I’m not sure about the specific location.” Kael thought for a moment and said: “But I know the school is in Northern Europe, a very cold place, and the uniform includes a fur cloak.”

“You’re right, that place is indeed cold, but is that all?” Grindelwald raised his brow.

“Compared to magic schools, I’m actually more interested in goblins.” Kael continued: “I’ve been researching the history of the goblin rebellion at school.”

Bathilda’s eyes lit up even more.
