Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 1178 -829: Unreliable Nicolas

Vinda Rosier didn’t even glance at Kael before she chose to dispel the Fiendfyre, wanting to save Grindelwald. Kael likewise didn’t hesitate; at the moment she turned away, he mounted his Broomstick and flew away without looking back.

He hadn’t thought of taking a nasty shot at Vinda Rosier while she dispelled the Fiendfyre, but upon reflection, he thought it unnecessary. He couldn’t guarantee he could kill Rosier, not even with Basilisk’s assistance.

If she didn’t die, she would likely prioritize eliminating him as a problem, and everything would return to square one, rendering his ignition of Nimongard pointless.

And if Grindelwald was indeed burned to death by the Fiendfyre, he would find himself in endless pursuit… these individuals are much harder to deal with than the Death Eaters; no matter how he looked at it, it wasn’t a worthwhile deal.

So he might as well end this game now; that would also mean he got the upper hand.

As for what to do afterward… as long as he could bring Dumbledore back, he could just throw this mess at him… Kael had gotten involved with Rosier and the others to save him, which was originally his responsibility.

“Stop!” Tinos initially wanted to stop Kael, but a Fiendfyre suddenly changed direction, slowly drifting towards the people still lying on the ground. Unable to do anything else, he reluctantly gave up on Kael and turned to save them.

With no one else pursuing him, Kael chose to ascend high and spurred the Firebolt to full speed.

About ten minutes later, spell lights once again flashed from behind… it seemed those who were deceived earlier had returned. But at the same time, Kael also felt the constant restraint surrounding him disappear.

Just a second before the spell hit him, Kael smiled slightly, and in an instant, he vanished into thin air.

Apparition.

When he appeared again, the surroundings had changed from the forest to towering peaks, which seemed to be a mountain range.

Unfamiliar with Austria and not wanting to return to the forest entrance, Kael could only choose to move randomly, which also prevented Rosier and the others from locating him.

Fortunately, this destination was quite satisfactory, as it should be far from the forest, and there were no Muggles around.

Kael jumped off the Broomstick and sat on a rock.

He felt relieved that his mind remained clear today, without the previous feeling of always being groggy and unable to wake up.

After all, he was up against twelve battle-hardened Wizards, and even the slightest mistake could have led to his capture by them.

Kael sat for a while, planning to drink something to ease his heightened nerves.

As it happened, it was also supposed to be sleep time, and he recalled the ‘Raspberry Juice’ given by Nicolas.

Although it was a Magic Potion, it tasted really good, much better than Pumpkin Juice.

However, when Kael retrieved the bottle, he found it empty, not refilled like before after being consumed in the morning.

“Already finished?”

Kael shook the cup and confirmed that the ‘Raspberry Juice’ was indeed not coming out anymore. Then he put it away and switched to another bottle of pale blue Magic Potion, pouring it into his mouth.

The cooling Magic Potion relieved some of his tense nerves, and he stopped thinking about Vinda Rosier, contemplating how to get back instead.

He took out the ‘Train Ticket’ that Nicolas gave him, which was actually the Two-Sided Mirror.

“Nicolas, Nicolas… are you there?”

He called tentatively, thinking it was futile again, but unexpectedly, after a few seconds, the Two-Sided Mirror suddenly flickered and revealed Nicolas’s face.

“Oh… is it resolved?” Nicolas inquired, “It took a bit longer than I expected.”

“If you had moved the Portkey elsewhere, it would have been much quicker.” Kael said irritably, feeling a bit resentful after being chased for nearly an entire night.

If Nicolas hadn’t set the Portkey in Rosier’s crew’s headquarters, none of this would have happened.

“What happened?” Nicolas asked in surprise.

“You didn’t know?”

“Should I?” Nicolas blinked, “I haven’t been there in sixty years, and the Portkey’s location is where I emerged after transforming Nimongard back in the day. What, isn’t it a forest now?”

“Yes, but a few more people showed up.” Kael recounted the earlier incidents.

“Twelve people pursuing me the whole night. If I had made even a tiny mistake, don’t even mention rescuing Dumbledore; I might not have made it out.”.

“Vinda Rosier?” Nicolas suddenly understood.

“So many Aurors couldn’t find her, and I didn’t expect she’d be hiding near Nimongard. But come to think of it, it’s probably the safest place; after all, Wizards from that era are too afraid to approach Grindelwald, even if he’s already imprisoned.”

“Why? He couldn’t escape from Nimongard, right?”

“Oh, you might not know.” Nicolas explained, “A lot of Grindelwald’s followers are former Aurors who were tasked with capturing him, including several instances where he was caught and then escaped with the assistance of his captors.

“The International Confederation of Wizards investigated them and discovered that they only began following Grindelwald after he was captured.

“Rumor has it Grindelwald knows a special version of the Imperio, which can corrode the mind unnoticed. Because of such matters, Aurors naturally avoid Nimongard.”.
