Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 1092: Chapter 800: Inventing Something in the Magic Realm (Part 2)

”They’re partners.” Kael corrected, ”Gang sounds a bit harsh. We’re doing legitimate business.”

”Alright, my bad.” Bones waved a hand, ”I remember there were things like maps that can navigate automatically, exam protective charms, and Quidditch support tools.”

”Yeah, and some other little stuff.” Kael said, ”We were young then, just earning some pocket money.”

”You earned quite a lot.” Bones raised an eyebrow, ”Most of Susan’s pocket money went to you guys.”

”Not much at all.” Kael shook his head quickly, ”Costs are high, we just earned a bit for hard work, barely enough for candy.”

”Really?” Bones teased, ”Does anyone do business like that?”

”It’s about making friends, making money doesn’t matter.” Kael replied.

”Since that’s the case.” Bones’s expression became businesslike, ”Then let’s discuss the reward now. Would you like to be friends with the Ministry of Magic?”

”Huh?”

Kael froze, his mouth twitching slightly.

He was a bit puzzled earlier, wondering why Bones suddenly brought up school matters, and now he understood.

Amelia Bones, she wasn’t like this before.

Back when she was the Minister of the Law Enforcement Department, everyone knew her as fair and honest. But now she’s become... sly.

To save money, she actually used this way to trick a student... well, alright, he’s graduated, not exactly a student anymore.

But she doesn’t need to pay out of her own pocket, it’s from the department’s accounts.

Indeed, the position of Minister of Magic can change someone’s personality so easily.

”Honestly, I’m very satisfied with what you’ve brought.” Watching Kael’s changing expressions, Bones smiled, ”Which method do you plan to use to transfer it to the Ministry of Magic?”

”Pay attention, I said transfer, meaning afterward you cannot sell this product externally in any form, even something similar can’t be allowed.”

”That’s another price.” Kael remarked.

”We’re having a discussion, aren’t we?” Bones stood up, ”For now, I’ve thought of two methods, the first is simply buying it.”

”How much can the Ministry of Magic offer?” Kael asked.

”Five hundred Galleons.”

”That’s too little.” Kael frowned.

If it’s just buying these few items, forget five hundred, even fifty Galleons would work, a friendly price.

But if it’s a transfer, then it’s too little.

He spent more than half a month to research this thing, trying nearly a thousand different Magic Text formulas.

This is a magic phone.

Kael could confirm that in the Magic Realm, where communication basically relies on owls, just a conversation function alone could ensure he makes a fortune.

Not to mention with the added confidentiality feature.

Take ”Galleon” for example, seventeen different Magic Text formula combinations, six Advanced Magic Text Talismans overlapping.

Unless Nicolas Flamel or Dumbledore showed up, eavesdropping? Practically impossible!

So five hundred Galleons isn’t just a bit less, it’s way too little; it’s not an exaggeration to call it daylight robbery.

He said that just to give Bones some face.

”I know.” Bones glanced at Kael, ”But you also know that the Ministry of Magic currently can’t offer too many Galleons.”

”I can accept an IOU.” Kael said casually, ”As long as it doesn’t exceed ten years.”

”How do we calculate the interest?” Bones asked.

”We’re friends, aren’t we?” Kael waved a hand, ”I’m friends with Susan, she’s been my old customer.”

”So, no interest needed?”

”Interest according to Gringotts’ standard.”

Bones’ expression froze, instinctively blurting out, ”Then why bring up Susan?”

”To emphasize our friendship.” Kael said matter-of-factly, ”In business, you always need topics to bring people closer, so this way, you’ll feel better spending the money.”

”This was meant for me?” Bones pointed to herself.

”Yes, can’t have me at a disadvantage.”

Looking at Kael’s matter-of-fact manner, Bones felt slightly annoyed, she suddenly wasn’t so fond of this young wizard in front of her.

”Just tell me, how much do you need.”

”Fine, I’ll take a bit of a loss.” Kael gritted his teeth, taking a piece of parchment and scribbling a number on it, ”This amount will do.”

Bones glanced down.

Initially, hearing Kael say ’take a loss,’ she had some hopes.

But the next second, when she saw the string of ’0’ on the parchment, she almost choked.

”Ten thousand Galleons, are you crazy? That’s impossible!” she practically roared. ”Just a few trinkets, how could they be worth that much money.”

”No, not ten thousand, it’s a hundred thousand.” Kael corrected, ”Minister, you might not be very familiar with Alchemy... Of course, this is normal, since Hogwarts doesn’t teach it, but this is the current market.

”And consider this, it competes with the Owl Post Office; do you think a hundred thousand Galleons could buy the Owl Post Office?”

”That’s different.”

”They’re both about transmitting information, what’s the difference? And this method is even more convenient and efficient.”

Bones fell silent.

Kael smiled slightly.

Actually, he mixed up a concept. Even if this communication coin became widespread, it couldn’t replace the Owl Post Office, at least not for delivering Hogwarts admission letters annually, which would certainly choose owls.
