Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 1081: Chapter 796: Bones’s Objective (3)

”What’s this?”

”Communication Parchment,” Kael said.

”Communication?” Bones pushed up her glasses and started seriously reading the content.

At the same time, Kael explained from the side, ”Each parchment has a different number. As long as you write down a number on it, the content will appear on the corresponding parchment. It’s much more efficient than the paper airplanes the Ministry of Magic currently uses for communication.”

”Nice idea.” Bones looked up and asked, ”What about the security issues? If an Auror loses the parchment while out, wouldn’t the enemy be able to know our plans through it?”

”We can implement a password restriction, which isn’t difficult,” Kael said. ”I just didn’t consider that much, as it’s for internal use to improve office efficiency.”

”Is that so?” Bones said, ”But why does this thing seem familiar to me?”

”Because it was used last year,” Kael said, ”to relay location information when dealing with the Dementor problem.”

”Was it your idea too?”

”No, strictly speaking, I just made it,” Kael shook his head. ”The idea came from someone else.”

”Who was it?”

”Hermione Granger and Cedric Digory,” Kael said. ”They organized a Defence Against the Dark Arts study group when they were at school and used this to notify everyone of class times. Back then, it was called the Communication Coin.”

”Digory?” Bones thought for a moment, ”Cedric Digory from the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures?”

”That’s right.” Kael nodded. ”Also, Hermione is at the Ministry of Magic. She’ll be helping out at the Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee for a month.”

”Alright, I will seriously consider this proposal,” Bones put away the parchment, ”If it’s approved... your salary will remain the same.

”Additionally, if possible, I hope you can come up with another communication tool that Aurors and Beaters can use. That’s the most important thing.

”Of course, you don’t need to come to the Ministry of Magic. Just have Chris bring it over then.”

”I’ll think about it,” Kael said.

”One more thing,” Bones suddenly said, ”I heard Dumbledore also came to the Ministry of Magic today?”

”Really?” Kael blinked, ”Where is he? I happen to have something to ask him too.”

”You didn’t know?”

”No, I haven’t seen him since yesterday afternoon.”

Bones looked into Kael’s eyes.

”What’s wrong?” Kael asked.

”Oh, nothing,” she said.

After that, Bones left. She had a lot to do and couldn’t stay there the whole time.

Kael was called by Chris to the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, where he was busy all day.

It wasn’t until eight in the evening that Kael finally looked up from the mountainous pile of documents, and Chris had also returned from outside.

When it was just the two of them in the office, Kael told him what happened during the day.

”It’s simple,” Chris said, ”She doesn’t want to keep you, but Dumbledore.”

”What do you mean?”

”Because Dumbledore values you a lot, practically everyone knows this. There are even quite a few people who say he’s preparing to groom you as the next Headmaster of Hogwarts,” Chris glanced at the tightly shut door and said softly.

”That’s impossible,” Kael immediately said, ”I’m too young, and even if Dumbledore retired, the only candidate for Headmaster would be Professor McGonagall.”

”That’s not important; what’s important is what most people think,” Chris said:

”She seems to have noticed that Dumbledore won’t stay at the Ministry of Magic forever, so they need to reinforce the relationship with Dumbledore in another way.

”Like you, or Harry. As long as one of you is at the Ministry of Magic, people will firmly believe that Dumbledore is also on the side of the Ministry of Magic.”

”So I’m just a mascot then,” Kael spread his hands, ”Tsk, I didn’t expect Bones to pick up Fudge’s tricks this quickly.”

”She’s just trying to strengthen people’s trust in the Ministry of Magic. There’s nothing wrong with that,” Chris said, ”If it were me, I might make the same choice.”

”Alright, you’d better head back,” Chris patted Kael on the shoulder, ”Remember, stay put tomorrow, don’t come again, Phoenix can’t keep showing up at the Ministry of Magic.”

”Okay,” Kael nodded, ”Should I wait for Hermione? She just went out with Pelode again and hasn’t come back yet.”

”No need, Arthur will bring her back by then,” Chris said, ”And she probably won’t be back before ten. If you want to wait another two hours, I don’t mind...”

”Then Mr. Weasley can have the honor!”
