Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 1073: Chapter 794: Fawkes’s Perch

The discussion continued until late at night before it finally ended.

Originally, the best candidate to go to Hogsmeade was Nymphadora Tonks. As a Metamorphmagus, she could easily deceive everyone’s eyes and perfectly hide herself.

Mundungus was also a good choice. Frequently engaging in gray market dealings, he was skilled in various disguises and could hide himself well.

But due to Sirius’s insistence, everyone finally agreed that he would be the one to carry out the mission to protect Harry.

The only requirement was that he must ensure he continues drinking Polyjuice Potion and constantly maintain another appearance in front of others.

Sirius agreed to this.

It wasn’t difficult; ten miles away from Hogsmeade, there was a Muggle village where he could simply go at night and find a Muggle with lush hair.

Harry was also happy with this decision.

Compared to the other two, he clearly preferred to be with his godfather, even though they had to pretend not to know each other, being close was always better.

Afterward, those who had come back from the Ministry of Magic stood up to prepare to leave.

Primarily because Kingsley received a message from Scrimgeour through special Auror means, saying they were short-staffed in Godric’s Hollow, and needed to hurry over tonight.

Others needed to help as well.

Kael had initially planned to take this opportunity to go back to Ottery St Catchpole for a bit. He figured he hadn’t been back for a long time, and when he passed by his doorstep earlier, he kind of missed that old Kneazle.

However, just as Kael followed Chris to the door and hadn’t had a chance to go out, someone pushed him back inside.

”You’re staying here lately too,” Chris turned around and said.

”Why?” Kael didn’t understand, ”I have to go to the Ministry tomorrow anyway, it should be more convenient to stay at home.”

”It’s safer here than at Ottery St Catchpole,” Chris looked at him.

Others might not know what’s going on, but he was very clear about what Kael’s suitcase contained.

Fire Dragons, Nundu, Wampus Cats, Basilisks, Three-Headed Dogs... Even among 5X level Fantastic Beasts, they were among the most troublesome ones.

Every time he thought about Kael carrying that dangerous suitcase around, he couldn’t help but feel a shiver of dread.

In terms of quantity, Kael’s suitcase couldn’t compete with Newt’s, but in terms of quality and danger, both were equally lethal.

So Chris knew very well that if used properly, those Fantastic Beasts were enough to help him deal with large numbers of Death Eaters in a short time.

Not to mention, just the Basilisk alone was enough.

The Basilisk is an artificially created species. Strictly speaking, it doesn’t count as a Fantastic Beast; it belongs to the most popular creations of Dark Magic a thousand years ago. Its original purpose was for killing.

The eyes of the Basilisk are like two materalized Killing Curses. No incantation needed, no wand waving, just eye contact is enough—simple and brutal.

Plus, with scales that rival Fire Dragon Skin, the Basilisk could ignore most magical attacks and wreak havoc on the battlefield.

In front of such a creature, unless it’s a wizard as powerful as Dumbledore or Voldemort, it doesn’t matter how many people come, it’s useless.

Of course, he didn’t say any of this out loud. Even though he trusted others as well, he chose to keep it a secret.

”Have you let it out recently?” Chris asked quietly, while Kingsley and Moody were talking.

”Yes.” Kael knew exactly what Chris was referring to, and he didn’t hide it, admitting directly.

”That’s the reason then,” Chris shook his head and said:

”I don’t know what you’ve done, but one thing’s for sure, your actions have already angered You-Know-Who. In such a situation, Ottery St Catchpole is no longer that safe.

”To prevent him from taking revenge on you, staying here is safer.”

”Yes, you should stay here,” Mrs. Weasley walked over and said.

She didn’t quite understand what Chris meant, but she understood the last sentence. Speaking of safety, nowhere compares to here right now.

As the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix, Dumbledore had placed countless Protective Magic here. The Fidelius Charm was just the basic; there were Anti-Tracking Spells, Indestructible Spells, Fixed Portkeys, among others. Even just the ones she knew amounted to seven.

It could be said that even if Voldemort knew the location of No. 12 Grimmauld Place now and came personally, he would need to spend a long time to break through its defenses.

In a way, the safety here even exceeded that of Hogwarts without Dumbledore.

So she naturally hoped Kael would stay here.

”Well... okay then.” Kael glanced at Chris, who had a calm expression, ”I’ll stay here then.”

”Mm.” Chris nodded, ”Also, don’t go to the Ministry for the time being either. Stay here and hide out for a while, I’ll handle Amelia for you.”

”Okay.” Kael nodded again.

It seemed Chris had been thinking about this since earlier.

Although Kael didn’t really want to stay cooped up indoors, after all, he used a Basilisk to kill dozens of Death Eaters. Such a casualty number was rare even during wartime.

Kingsley and the others had to work overtime through the night because of this.

So Kael thought, to avoid overstimulating Chris, he’d better do as he was told.
