Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 692: Chapter 665: Fudge’s Decision, the War Begins (Part 3)

”And three of them have already replied to me, happily agreeing that if Fudge hasn’t announced You-Know-Who’s return by the 20th, they will cooperate with me on another plan...”

Kael glanced at Dumbledore and didn’t continue, because what followed was something Dumbledore probably didn’t want to hear.

In any case, Kael could not let the Ministry of Magic become a stumbling block in their fight against Voldemort. If it came to the worst, Dumbledore would have to take on the position of Minister of Magic.

After all, among those who replied was Nicolas Flamel, who seemed quite interested in Dumbledore becoming Minister, even suggesting he could visit Hogwarts.

With Nicolas’s help, this matter was more than half successful.

As for the position of Hogwarts Headmaster... If Dumbledore was overwhelmed, Kael thought Professor McGonagall was quite suitable.

Of course, that was the original plan, which is no longer needed now.

Meanwhile, Dumbledore felt a chill run down his spine. He seemed to have guessed Kael’s idea, but hoped he was wrong.

”Kael...” he said thoughtfully, ”I think it would be better if you sought my consent before making decisions next time, don’t you think?”

”This is all to deal with Voldemort, Professor,” Kael said with a grin. ”Sometimes you need special means, and I remember you saying at the Hog’s Head Pub that you would sacrifice anything to defeat him.”

”Did I say that?” Dumbledore pretended to ponder.

”I’m quite sure, Professor,” Kael said. ”Many people heard it, including the pub’s owner. We could ask if you don’t believe me.”

”Alright, I did say that.” Dumbledore sighed, admitting it, but when he said it back then, it was more about expressing his determination, not realizing that ”anything” would be so expansive.

”I have to admit, Kael...” Dumbledore couldn’t help but say, ”You always come up with plans I could never think of.”

”It’s nothing,” Kael modestly shook his head. ”You don’t have to give me two hundred points or a special contribution award for the school, really.”

Dumbledore felt a little reluctant to speak with him, and after a brief silence, ”Alright, then I won’t add.”

This time it was Kael’s turn to be silent. He was just being polite, but Dumbledore took it seriously.

But he didn’t mind too much and instead asked, ”Professor, is this why you called me in?”

”Sort of, and also about you teaching Harry Occlumency. Professor Snape mentioned it, saying you taught Harry.”

”It’s nothing.” Kael seemed reluctant to talk about it, looking at the newspaper on the table. ”Professor, could the Dementors have sided with Voldemort?”

”I’m glad we thought of the same thing.” Dumbledore smiled, and then put on a serious expression. ”However, this is something I also want to know.”

”I went to the island where Azkaban is located after receiving the news last night, and the number of Dementors there has decreased significantly.”

”How much?” Kael asked.

”About half,” Dumbledore said. ”We need to know whether those missing Dementors were killed or joined Tom.”

”Wait...” Kael said, ”Professor, isn’t the Patronus Charm the only way to kill Dementors? Neither the Death Eaters nor Voldemort should be able to use that Charm.”

The Patronus Charm is a very special magic that only wizards with righteousness in their hearts can use to transform their inner joy into their Guardian God. If an evil Dark Wizard tries, it will backfire, and the wand will summon insects to devour the user.

”Most Death Eaters certainly can’t use it, but Tom... his idea of joy differs from ours.” Dumbledore’s fingers lightly tapped on the table.

”And, killing Dementors isn’t limited to the Patronus Charm, which is more about driving them away. In fact, the Killing Curse is equally effective against Dementors.”

”Alright.” Kael said, ”So Professor, what do you want me to do?”

”Fudge will be coming to Hogwarts this afternoon, and he will bring two Dementors who were on duty last night,” Dumbledore said.

”I need to know if those missing Dementors have indeed sided with Voldemort, as it affects whether we should modify our existing defense plans.”

”No problem,” Kael said.

”And there’s one more thing...” Dumbledore’s expression softened, ”Fudge has already taken a stance against the Death Eaters. Maybe you should write to Dugald and the others, explaining the current situation... to prevent them from doing anything unnecessary.”

”No need for that.” Kael thought for a moment, ”They should read the Daily Prophet, which explains everything clearly.”

”It would still be better to be cautious.” Dumbledore insisted, his blue eyes fixed steadily on Kael.

”Alright, I’ll write the letter now.” Kael said.

”No need, you can do it here.” Dumbledore waved his hand, and several pieces of parchment and quills appeared on the table.

”Once you’ve finished writing, I’ll have Fawkes deliver it, as owls can’t take it to Nicolas, right?”

He glanced at Fawkes, napping on its perch, deciding internally that no matter what Kael said, he wouldn’t lend his Phoenix to him again.

Kael wanted to tell Dumbledore that he had other ways to contact Nicolas without using Fawkes, but he thought it better not to mention it...

Just in case he needed it in the future, it was wise to keep it to himself.

So Kael quietly sat by the desk and started writing the letter in front of Dumbledore.
