Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 685: Chapter 663: I’m Just Doing the Right Thing (2)

Umbridge frowned slightly, glancing at Kael intentionally or unintentionally.

Although Fudge’s words proved Kael did write a letter, Umbridge hadn’t expected the letter to not be addressed to her but directly delivered to Fudge, which made her quite unhappy.

Yet, in front of Fudge, she couldn’t show it and could only keep it in mind, planning to settle accounts with Kael when she returned to Hogwarts.

”Indeed.”

Kael didn’t know what Umbridge was thinking. He put down his Butter Beer and said, ”As far as I know, Dumbledore has recently been in contact with wizards who are very famous in the Magic Realm: Dugald McPhail, Nicolas Flamel, and Ms. Maxime from Beauxbatons.

”Certainly, there are others. They are not directly corresponding; all communication is conveyed through Hogwarts’ Gamekeeper, Hagrid.

It’s just that Hagrid’s... hmm, confidentiality awareness is strong. I haven’t seen the contents of the letters and don’t know what they’re up to.”

”Of course, it’s to resist the Ministry of Magic!” Fudge’s expression twisted suddenly, slamming the table hard.

”It can’t be that serious.” Kael whispered, ”It might be for something else...”

”No, you underestimate them.” Fudge turned to Umbridge, ”Show it to him.”

”But...” Umbridge hesitated slightly.

”It’s alright, Kael is one of our own. We can completely trust him.” Fudge said.

With no choice, even if reluctant, Umbridge could only take out an opened letter and place it on the table.

Kael clearly saw the contents on it.

[You should have done this earlier, Albus. See you on the twentieth.]

Kael almost laughed out loud; he was too familiar with this letter, which should have been sent to Hagrid but ended up with Umbridge.

Needless to say, someone must have attacked the owl delivering the letter and snatched it away.

Of course, even knowing what’s going on, Kael still put on a puzzled look and asked, ”Professor, what is this?”

”Correspondence between Dumbledore and those people, also evidence of their attempt to resist the Ministry of Magic.”

Umbridge said in an exaggerated tone, ”I can hardly imagine such a horrifying event happening at Hogwarts.”

Then her tone carried a bit of pride, ”They even added anti-peeping magic to the envelope. If anyone tries to open it, the letter inside would automatically destroy itself, yet I cracked it in the end.”

Kael blinked. Weren’t they using anti-Muggle magic? How did it turn into anti-peeping magic that automatically destroys letters? Does the Owl Post Office offer this service?

This was clearly showing off. If he didn’t know the truth, he might have really been fooled by her.

Looking at the smug Umbridge, seemingly waiting for Fudge’s praise, Kael almost laughed out loud... Fortunately, he held it back.

”I think we should arrest Rubeus Hagrid. Once we hand him over to the Aurors for questioning, maybe we can find out what Dumbledore’s real intentions are.”

Umbridge was talking to herself, oblivious to how increasingly unpleasant Fudge’s expression was.

Fudge had been very anxious these past few days, feeling that his position as Minister of Magic was under serious threat, even stronger than ever before.

Initially, it started two days ago when someone saw a Phoenix deliver a letter to Dean Cecily at St Mungo’s Hospital.

And in the Magic Realm, only Dumbledore owns a Phoenix.

Now that the Phoenix appeared at St Mungo’s, does it mean Dumbledore is trying to ally Dean Cecily of St Mungo’s?

Fudge wasn’t sure, but that didn’t stop him from thinking so. ℯ

Because Cecily holds a critically influential position in the Magic Realm; her Magic Potions have saved countless people. If she sided with Dumbledore, it would definitely sway a large number of people, even causing many who originally supported him to immediately defect.

Fortunately, so far, no news has leaked, indicating that Dean Cecily hasn’t agreed immediately.

Naturally, Fudge wouldn’t sit idly; thus, he intended to hint to Malfoy, preparing to donate a sum of money to St Mungo’s in the name of the Ministry of Magic.

He had done this whenever he needed prestige, and Malfoy was also happy to spend money to buy the Ministry’s friendship.

But what Fudge hadn’t expected was that the letter had been sent out for several days, but he hadn’t received a reply yet.

This had never happened before.

The simultaneous occurrence of two inexplicable events made Fudge somewhat uneasy, fearing even Malfoy had turned to Dumbledore.

He knew well the methods the Malfoy family uses to win hearts, scattering large amounts of Galleons around; nobody would stay indifferent.

Coupled with the letters delivered by Umbridge and Kael today, Fudge was on the verge of madness.

Especially among the names Kael mentioned earlier was Nicolas Flamel... A legendary Master of Alchemy who has lived over six hundred years, still possessing the Philosopher’s Stone; it’s no exaggeration to say that wizards who want to befriend him could line from London to Paris.

If that were true, he would have no chance at all.

Fudge doesn’t want to lose his position as Minister of Magic; he must resist.

But now, not a single piece of news is favorable to him... No, perhaps there’s one way.

Though risky, it’s currently his only chance to turn the tables.
