Global Game: I Have Portable Store

Entering the snow mountain’s area, they also entered the night; the sky was filled with stars, and a golden aurora kept changing.

Although it was night, it still felt very bright; even from several hundred meters away, one could see the expressions on people’s faces in the distance.

”What’s that? Why are there so many people?”

Qu Ping retracted his head, his face full of confusion.

They saw many people gathering under the snow mountain, all of whom were contestants, many of whom they had seen on the square before.

Su Changxing, however, figured it out and whispered, ”It should be that the monster forced them to unite, wanting to band together to deal with that monster.”

”Otherwise, when the red light barrier shrinks again, the monster will defeat the contestants one by one, and there will be no place for us to hide.”

”The most likely scenario is that the monster survives to the end and kills all of us.”

Qu Ping nodded and said, ”Makes sense. So should we join them, or just watch from the dark?”

Su Changxing thought for a moment and said, ”They will definitely join forces against that monster first. If they kill it, they might then turn against other contestants who haven’t joined them.”

”If they fail and are killed by that monster, we will eventually have to face the monster as well.”

Qu Ping pondered for a while, ”You mean we should join them to deal with that monster?”

Su Changxing nodded and said, ”Yes, the more people, the more power...”

He paused, then said sinisterly, ”The best outcome, of course, is that we and the monster both suffer heavy losses, with the stronger contestants dying in the process. This way, only we might survive to the end.”

Qu Ping found it very reasonable, and with a smile on his scarred face, he gave a thumbs-up, saying, ”Brother Su, you’re smart, I admire you. If the situation weren’t special, I’d surely want to become sworn brothers with you.”

Su Changxing politely said, ”Oh, not at all. If it weren’t for Brother Qu, I might not have survived until now.”

Then, the two of them walked confidently toward the camp with the firelight, where someone at the entrance waved a torch, signaling for nearby contestants to come over.

Qu Ping smiled and said in a low voice, ”They must have already grasped the monster’s whereabouts; otherwise, they wouldn’t gather here so ostentatiously.”

”It’s just that due to the epidemic, many players have to hide; otherwise, there would be more people here.”

Su Changxing gritted his teeth and said, ”The person spreading the epidemic is really detestable!”

”Didn’t I tell you, this is unlikely to be man-made,” Qu Ping emphasized again.

Su Changxing nodded, feeling that humans are a stubborn species; unless facts are laid out before them, they will only believe the truth they want to believe.

In fact, it’s easy to think that the epidemic was spread by someone, especially when the points for the number one spot on the leaderboard are so unreasonable.

Just as they approached the camp, the person holding the torch shouted to them, ”This is a non-conflict period; please don’t attack other contestants.”

Even as he said this, the torchbearer and the people beside him remained extremely vigilant, ready to attack at any sign of movement from Su Changxing’s group.

In such circumstances, trust between people was extremely fragile; no one could entrust their life to others.

There were scattered corpses on the ground near the camp, evidently killed in conflicts.

Qu Ping, with a smile on his scarred face, said, ”You’re here to deal with that monster, right? We are here to join.”

Seeing Su Changxing and Qu Ping being so cooperative, the face of the camp guard relaxed.

A middle-aged man wearing a gray coat, carrying firearms, and with long brown hair stepped forward and said, ”Hello, I’m Hepburn. Due to this game, a demon suddenly intruded, so we contestants have internally decided to temporarily pause the game and deal with the demon first.”

Qu Ping looked surprised and asked, ”That monster is a demon?”

Hepburn said expressionlessly, ”Yes, it’s likely that a demon-corrupted player joined the Slaughter Game, causing the current situation.”

”And we suspect that this plague is also caused by the demon; otherwise, it can’t be explained why all of us are infected.”

Qu Ping glanced at Su Changxing and said, ”See, I told you it wasn’t the players. It turned out to be a demon. Clearing demons is every player’s responsibility, so the Slaughter Game should be stopped first.”

I’ve become a demon?

Su Changxing blinked, not knowing what to say, ”Brother Qu, wise as always.”

He looked at Hepburn and asked, ”So now there are two demons in the Land of Slaughter?”

Hepburn hesitated for a moment, then nodded and said, ”Yes, that seems to be the current situation, so we need to unite against them.”

Listening to Hepburn, Su Changxing also reflected on whether he was possessed by a demon.

In that world, it seemed that players could all potentially metamorphose into monsters, likely the demons’ treachery behind it.

Because of Wodan World’s uniqueness, demons seem unable to enter that world directly, so they can only infiltrate indirectly.

Hepburn examined Su Changxing seriously, ”You’re a Tier Seven Extraordinary?”

Su Changxing nodded, puzzled, ”Yes, why?”

”Nothing,” Hepburn shook his head with a smile, his gaze obviously showing disdain but not expressing it overtly, instead politely saying, ”You may go in first; later, we’ll discuss the details of confronting that monster.”

Su Changxing didn’t really mind this attitude, knowing the reason behind Hepburn’s attitude—looking down on Tier Seven players like him, yet hoping more such players would join.

But in the Slaughter Game, there seemed to be only one Tier Seven player like him; the others likely died from the plague or were killed because of it.

Su Changxing followed behind Qu Ping, walking toward the camp.

This was a simple camp, with a bonfire set on an open space.

Others stood or sat on the ground, keeping a certain distance from each other. Among them, Su Changxing recognized a few familiar faces.

The Buddha Son from Magpie Mountain Temple stood at the front, organizing camp order.

And Carl, wearing a crown, was sitting by the bonfire roasting a large piece of meat. Noticing Su Changxing’s arrival, they exchanged glances but didn’t greet each other.

However, Su Changxing didn’t see the Barbarian, Gurulu; he wasn’t here. His name was on the leaderboard, and he wasn’t dead.

The entire camp had about a hundred people, having just gathered here not long ago.
