Global Game: I Have Portable Store

”Abbot, something’s wrong, he seems to be dead, but his phone is still here!” A burly monk carrying the corpse of a young monk suddenly realized something was amiss.

Here, players do not truly die, so they cannot be plundered; after death, the phone would disappear along with them.

However, the young monk’s phone remained in his pocket and did not vanish.

This was an utterly bizarre situation.

The abbot, dressed in a red magic robe and sporting a long white beard, was stunned: ”Dead...what? You say Fang Yuan is dead!”

The burly monk nodded, saying, ”It seems so, because his phone is still here, and it can be plundered, so he must be dead.”

At this moment.

The abbot was in complete shock. Unlike others, he had lived here for countless years and had never heard of anyone dying in this place.

Even when powerful ability users appeared here in the past and wiped out the entire region’s people all at once, no player actually died.

”This is a subversion of the rules; we must find him immediately, at least to contain him.”

The abbot’s sharp gaze did not match his benevolent appearance. Turning his head, he noticed the burly monk standing motionless, also not speaking.

Immediately after, that monk fell to the ground, the young monk’s broken corpse rolling aside, and the flesh that had previously stopped ulcerating began to rot again.

”How is this possible!” The abbot wore an incredulous expression.

He had clearly purified the corpse just now, so logically speaking, no plague should have been able to linger.

The burly monk, having carried the young monk, was infected; his flesh also began to rot.

The abbot hastily stepped back a few paces, a glow of Buddha light emanating from his hands, enveloping the infected monk, attempting to dispel the plague in him.

It worked, but not completely.

Each time he thought it was nearly dispelled, the plague began to spread again.

The monk who contracted the plague died amidst the repeated torment.

And it wasn’t just him; a few others carelessly got infected as well, but they were only just infected and were dispelled by the Buddha light.

Even so, four or five people died, causing the whole Magpie Mountain Temple to be shaken, closing the mountain gate.

All members mobilized, searching for the murderer.

However, they did not reveal any news about the deaths.

...

It was an ancient-looking city, with tall city walls and various styled buildings scattered across different areas.

The Thundercloud Tower stood in the center of the city, towering into the clouds, visible from a distance.

The Land of Slaughter was not inside the Thundercloud Tower; the tower was merely used as a teleportation function, connecting to that area.

Su Changxing headed into the city, with the two newcomers following behind.

Among them, a young man wearing a black hat and carrying a rusty AK, named Wang An, followed at a respectful distance, with a friendly demeanor:

”Brother Su, are you really planning to join the Futu? That’s a nine-out-of-ten chance of death. I don’t think it’s necessary; can’t you just do missions instead? We could form a team and do missions together.”

He thought Su Changxing was very strong, and like them, still a newcomer. If they could hold onto a powerful ally, most of the tasks would be secured.

”Do missions together?” Su Changxing looked surprised: ”Forget about doing missions; we could go to the Land of Slaughter together.”

”You really want to go!” Wang An in the black hat looked shocked: ”Well, I’m not going. Then, Brother Su, I wish you all the best, becoming famous in the Eighth Dimension.”

Su Changxing raised his eyebrows: ”This is the Eighth Dimension?”

He always thought this was the Ninth Dimension.

It turned out he had come to the wrong place.

Perhaps he should walk around the other side of the Celestial Gate’s pillar... He asked Wang An, ”How did you get here?”

Wang An thought for a moment and said, ”Our world was gamified a long time ago; doing missions constantly made us high-level players, and that’s how we got here.”

”I originally thought this place would be like paradise, but unexpectedly, we were humiliated by these veteran players as soon as we arrived.”

The woman walking with him, always silent, wearing a mask, suddenly said: ”Can’t die here; isn’t this just like paradise? What’s the difference from the legendary Immortal Realm?”

Wang An looked back at her and nodded, saying: ”You’re right, this place might be the legendary Immortal Realm, but very different from my imagination.”

Then he introduced to Su Changxing: ”This is my brother, Vivian, a bit shy.”

Su Changxing scrutinized the woman, with a graceful figure, though he couldn’t see her face, he thought she must be top-notch: ”Brother?”

Wang An chuckled and quietly said, ”Don’t be fooled by the appearance; he’s actually a man.”

Su Changxing showed a peculiar expression, seeing her position through ”True Knowledge.”

[Enchanting Witch: Tier Seven, possessing formidable casting ability and capable of exerting Spirit Charm over the opposite sex.]

OK.

Just as he was about to say something, he turned his head and saw a group of monks running toward him in the distance, instantly sensing trouble:

”I have some matters to attend to. Let’s chat next time we get a chance.”

As soon as he finished speaking, he slipped into the nearby bushes, disappearing from sight.

There was no such thing as Perception shielding in this world; once locked onto, there was no escape.

Soon the group of monks arrived at Wang An and his companion, asking: ”Have you seen a ragged, filthy person? He committed a crime at our Magpie Mountain Temple; he’s a ruffian, and we are currently arresting him.”

Wang An’s eyes flickered, thinking of Su Changxing’s reaction just now, knowing those monks were likely looking for Su Changxing.

He pretended to think seriously and said, ”Haven’t seen him; we’ve met very few people along the way. Earlier, someone named Wei Zhongliang came to charge us protection fees.”

The monks did not pay much attention to these two novice players and continued along the road.

”He’ll surely head to the main city. We will wait for him there. The abbot said he’s a novice player.”

”Okay, let’s hurry and reach the main city before him. Yuan Hua, you’re fast, you go ahead.”

”Also, be careful.”

...

Wang An whispered to Vivian beside him: ”That brother is something else, just arrived and already causing trouble at someone else’s temple gate...he’s really a role model for us!”

Vivian glanced at him and coldly said: ”You can follow him to the Futu.”

Wang An waved his hand with a profound smile: ”Why should I go there? Just for killing? There’s no need for that.”

”But isn’t the commotion from these monks at Magpie Mountain Temple a bit excessive? Even if someone died, there was no need to deploy those old monsters.”

He turned back to look in the direction of Magpie Mountain Temple, eyes glinting faintly, ”Hmm, I thought of something interesting. Since no one is at Magpie Mountain Temple now, why don’t we go there?”

Vivian coldly said: ”Are you sure we won’t get beaten? We barely escaped and can’t stay low for a bit?”

Wang An laughed: ”I’m thinking that brother is drawing attention for us in front. Let’s take the opportunity to rob him one time, wouldn’t that be delightful.”
