Global Game: I Have Portable Store

The people outside can’t see the specific situation inside the Land of Slaughter, but they can get a general idea from the forum rankings.

Wang An chewed on the sweet osmanthus cake, clapped his hands, and laughed, ”Big brother is doing great, already ranked in the top thousand.”

Vivian looked at her phone and said calmly, ”Generally speaking, by the final stages of the Slaughter Game, only a small number remain. Only a few survive to the end, at most a dozen.”

Wang An waved his hand, ”It’s just the beginning, everything is uncertain. Only people with potential like Big Brother are worth watching. Those who are already strong or weak, we can predict their outcomes without looking.”

As he spoke, he placed a bet of 30 million points on Su Changxing in the forum.

This is part of the betting system on the forum related to the Slaughter Game, likely with the Doomsday Game as the house, allowing other players to bet.

Such a house is indeed fair; at least there’s no worry of cheating.

For many players, this is a chance to get rich overnight, with odds for betting on players like Su Changxing already reaching one to several hundred.

However, betting happens in stages, not on who can survive to the end, but on how high one’s rank can be by the next stage.

Bets can also be placed on whether someone can survive the next stage. These odds are much lower, but betting on some powerful players, the first few stages are almost guaranteed to win.

Like Wang An, placing a direct bet on a Tier Seven player to enter the top hundred is like throwing all the points down the drain.

”Wasting points like this isn’t smart,” Wei Wei’an rolled her eyes at him and mocked, ”Even the Saintess of the Doomsday Cult is only ranked in the fifties. She’s a crazy woman who kills without concern.”

She seemed to know the Saintess of the Doomsday Cult.

”What!”

Her ice-cold expression suddenly turned dazed, and she exclaimed.

Others might not have noticed, but they were deliberately or unwittingly keeping track of Su Changxing’s rank.

Su Changxing’s rank was rising at a staggering pace.

1000th, 950th, 900th, 850th...

Wang An was also stunned. No matter how strong someone is, they should advance by killing one by one, and their rank should increase gradually.

But this looks like the leaderboard is broken.

”Could the leaderboard really be having problems?” He had a puzzled look on his face. With things going like this, his 30 million points might turn into billions.

This is much faster than stealing or robbing.

Soon after.

Someone on the forum noticed the anomaly in the leaderboard.

”Look quick, there’s someone called Lucky Child whose points and rank are skyrocketing crazily.”

This post attracted a lot of attention, and many went to check the leaderboard, confirming it was true.

”This person seems to be just a Tier Seven Extraordinary, participating in the Slaughter from Thundercloud City. Previously, he was at odds with Magpie Mountain Temple. The abbot there declared he’d reward anyone who could capture him and bring him to Magpie Mountain Temple with a grand feast.”

Soon, someone dug out Su Changxing’s background. In this world full of players, finding the identity of an ID is the simplest task.

This usually caused a phenomenon where most people spoke anonymously on forums, instead of using their ID.

Soon, a player from Thundercloud City spoke: ”I saw him before and felt he was extraordinary. Who would have thought he’s so formidable?”

Another person commented: ”But aren’t his points rising too fast? Not even killing pigs is this quick. Could the leaderboard be broken?”

Many questioned whether the leaderboard was malfunctioning, because the rate of Su Changxing’s points increase was not slowing down over time, but getting faster.

This seemed extremely eerie.

However, even if the leaderboard was broken, they had no way to intervene since it was issued by the game’s system.

Theoretically, it shouldn’t be wrong. Over the years, there hasn’t been a single error in the leaderboard.

...

As time went by, at a certain point, the weakest group finally couldn’t withstand the plague’s erosion and began dying off in large numbers.

A Demon Hunter wearing a black mask squatted inside a cave, his hands covered in blood, with seven or eight corpses beside him.

These were all killed by him.

But his current status was not good. The flesh beneath his clothes was entirely putrid, nerves gradually numb, and even breathing became difficult.

”I can’t die here, I can’t die here, I can’t die here...” He muttered to the wall with a hollow look, his head weakly leaning against it.

He couldn’t understand where the problem lay. He mysteriously caught the plague, as did everyone he killed.

All infected by this illness would fall into an abnormal state, then die little by little.

His physique was stronger, able to endure more, so he took advantage of their weakness to kill them.

But after killing them, he couldn’t hold on either, trying every method to dispel the plague, using potions, rituals, Mysterious Items.

At first, these methods worked, even making him think the plague was eradicated.

But the plague recurred, stronger this time, needing more intense measures to dispel it.

After struggling half a day, he still found no success, as some bodily functions were already damaged.

As a Demon Hunter, it’s not his first encounter with plagues, having seen many terrifying plague-bearing demons.

No matter how terrifying, none matched this. He’s now sure of this fact.

This plague seemed to be spread from the most powerful plague demon, impossible to dispel, impossible to cure, only leading to a painful death.

Despair was apparent in the Demon Hunter’s eyes. Though he had resistance to the plague, he could only outlive others slightly longer.

He reached out bled fingers, drawing a rat’s tail on the ground with exquisite detail, even the tiny hairs clearly visible, softly saying:

”Karis, the legendary strongest plague demon, rat tail, goat horns, cloven hooves.”

His body shook, blood seeped from his eyes, and he made a firm conclusion: ”There’s a demon among the players!”

Closing his eyes, he envisioned a person wearing a Clown Mask, ragged, wandering the square.

”Is it him?”

He wasn’t sure, and even if he was, it was useless.

One couldn’t transmit messages from such a place, only those seeking death would come here.

Following this.

His spirit was briefly invigorated, shakily drawing a ritual with blood on the ground.

He often pondered the differences between humans and demons.

Merely due to life levels differing, humans were prey, food to them.

Yet humans were different from animals.

They know to resist to death, understand how to wield power, and how to learn power.

Recalling his first day becoming a Demon Hunter, the teacher kept instilling hatred for demons, killing demons being their greatest honor and life pursuit.

But at some point.

He suddenly felt lost, unsure of his existence’s meaning, questioning the reason for being a Demon Hunter.

How long ago was this?

Thinking back, details were blurry; perhaps long before, when demons invaded his world, utterly consuming it.

All Demon Hunters struggled, but only as obstacles.

The world’s destruction seemed inevitable, the entire process without twists, without fluctuations, as though predetermined.

Watching his wife and children die, seeing the teacher fall before him, fleeing his world, his faith began crumbling.

The collapse lasted a long time until unable to bear it, feeling everything meaningless, so he came here, to the Land of Slaughter.

He couldn’t die here, not yet!

He chanted ancient spells from long ago times, the space trembled, the ritual glowing crimson with deep black eyes opening within.

Those were beautiful eyes, captivating, leaving anyone euphoric at just one glance.

The Demon Hunter’s body gradually turned into a black phantom from the head and slowly reformed.

His face showed a mad smile, skin sprouting fine hair like a buffalo’s, body twisted, becoming light and agile, departing human form.

Drool dripped at the mouth corner, onto the ground.

The Demon Hunter gradually freed from the plague’s sway as only humans fall victim to illness, demons remain unscathed.

He moved across the ground like a shadow, following scent, mouth wide at seven hundred twenty degrees, sharp teeth devouring corpses.

”Delicious~”

Dark red blood slipped from his mouth corner, resembling a dog eating in a bowl, wagging tail joyously.

”Delicious!”

”Delicious!”

”Delicious.”

His eating pace quickened, teeth colliding, making metallic sounds.
