Global Game: I Have Portable Store

”Someone went on a killing spree at Magpie Mountain Temple today. I saw it with my own eyes. Rumor has it that it was a newcomer. Newcomers these days are truly fierce. The monks at the city gate are trying to catch this newcomer.”

This is the most popular thread, seemingly posted anonymously by a pilgrim at Magpie Mountain Temple.

A lot of people are responding below, most are anonymous, only a few speak with IDs.

”Didn’t the Abbot of Magpie Mountain Temple trigger some punishment? I guess it was because they acted against the newcomer and killed them. Otherwise, why would such a significant disaster occur?”

”Newcomers these days are really fierce. I wonder what kind of humanity-defying act he committed to provoke such drastic measures from these monks.”

”Monks? Bald donkeys! I’ve disliked those bald donkeys for a while now. They look so fake. Last time I went to Magpie Mountain Temple, they didn’t even let me bring out a single penny.”

”You can only shout here. If you have the guts, say that to those bald donkeys’ faces.”

”You called them bald donkeys too, didn’t you?”

”I didn’t shout.”

...

Su Changxing squatted at a street corner, looking at his phone, realizing that this forum is livelier than he imagined, unlike their previous experiences in the apocalypse.

Some high-level Players here are quite idle, living comfortably. For them, browsing the forum is just playing on their phones.

The most popular topics are still posts about Magpie Mountain Temple, but to be precise, it’s the temple itself monopolizing the first and second spots due to its actions.

First, there’s the commotion at the city gate over catching a newcomer, a move that angered many people.

They can’t insult face-to-face, but surely they can on the forum?

Secondly, there’s a post about the temple being burnt, seemingly during the commotion, and someone took advantage and burned down the main building.

Most are just onlookers, but some anonymously curse the monks.

Of course.

There are also some bold Players who curse the monks with their IDs.

These people must be pretty strong Players, confident enough not to fear the monks’ retaliation.

”The name of this temple is really nothing special, just a bunch of fake bald donkeys.”

Su Changxing flipped through the forum, secretly cursing.

Today truly made him frustrated, forced to commit suicide by that old monk.

He could imagine that if the old monk caught him, the outcome wouldn’t be good, at least he’d be controlled.

Now, they’ve formed this grudge.

However, he’s more concerned with the Slaughter Game now. There’s related information on the forum, posted by a Player named ”Du Shengri,” someone who survived the Slaughter Game.

Players in the Slaughter Game not only come from their city but from other cities and even other dimensions.

According to him, if your strength isn’t Tier Six, don’t even think about joining this game.

But even Tier Six players merely have the chance to survive, depending on luck.

If your luck is bad and you encounter something terrifying, the one in ten thousand chance of survival might vanish.

Su Changxing read this introduction about the Slaughter Game with a serious expression; his strength is roughly between Tier Six and Tier Five.

Against a Tier Five Extraordinary like that old monk, he’s no match, just helplessly beaten, even escaping is difficult.

Thus, this participation in the Slaughter Game involves gambling, hoping that this batch doesn’t have such terrifying individuals.

Tier Five can’t participate in the Slaughter Game, but some exist with combat power rivaling Tier Five.

No one knows exactly how many game Players exist. The quantity is unestimable because no one knows precisely how many game worlds there are yet.

And the existence of the Slaughter Game targets all Players, logically including some terrifying beings.

The introduction also mentions some strange races, different from humans but incredibly powerful.

These powerful races have often declined but occasionally appear in the Slaughter Game.

For instance, the Spirit Race, rumored to exist in an ancient era before humanity was the predominant Player race. Back then, only a small fraction of humans became Players.

Spirit Race individuals naturally possess exceptionally strong Spiritual Power; their emotions are richer, and their combat power is astounding. The same ability can be magnified several times in their hands.

However, their powerful Spiritual Power and immense emotional depth make them more prone to losing control as Extraordinary individuals.

Su Changxing was curious about how the Spirit Race declined, but couldn’t find any answers on the forum, yet had plenty of speculations.

These speculations sound reasonable but lack specific evidence.

”I hope I don’t encounter the Spirit Race,” Su Chang whispered, already mentally prepared to join the Slaughter Game.

This is a kill-or-be-killed game, requiring all efforts without hesitation, ready to go on a killing spree!

He understands this is a crucial opportunity to advance; missing it would make finding a suitable position difficult, potentially requiring a long time searching.

Until the next morning, everything remained as usual.

Su Changxing even leaned against a corner to catch some sleep, his injuries mostly recovered.

He originally thought that his ability to completely kill other players would be exposed, but those monks did not do so, instead choosing to conceal the news.

No one discovered the deaths of Bai Jieshi and others.

Players disappearing is a common occurrence; when they go to other worlds to perform tasks, the connections are severed.

Not long after dawn, Su Changxing saw those monks on the street, but they weren’t looking for him; they were going to participate in the Slaughter Game.

The Slaughter Game is not just a one-time event; it takes place daily during this period, sometimes more than once a day.

Many new players would choose to enter and take their chances; the majority never come out again, yet some are tireless in their enthusiasm.

After all, if one relied on completing tasks to obtain a suitable position, it could take forever, and there would still be the risk of dying in the middle.

It’s like buying a lottery ticket, knowing you probably won’t win but still wanting to buy it—it’s a comfort to the hearts of the poor.

People from powerful factions generally do not participate in the Slaughter Game; they have their own legacies and can obtain positions through various channels.

But there are exceptions, and today those monks were the exception.

Don’t ask how Su Changxing knew; it was the fifth trending topic on the forum.

”The Buddha Son from the Magpie Mountain Temple in the Lower Realm is preparing to participate in the Slaughter Game.”

The Magpie Mountain Temple has a legacy in other worlds, and their most powerful generation is called the Buddha Son, whom they nurture with all their might.

This Buddha Son is already an Extraordinary Tier Six; daring to participate in the Slaughter Game shows his strength is exceptional.

As for the top trending topic, it was news from another forum.

”The Doomsday Sect Saintess is preparing to participate in the Slaughter Game today.”

Su Changxing didn’t know if these two Doomsday Cults were connected, but the same name was enough to spark his imagination.

Could this indicate that the appearance of the Doomsday Cult in their world was not a coincidence and was not just related to the Blood Moon World?

Of course.

Seeing these so-called Buddha Sons and Saintesses participate was not enough to make him back down.

This seems to be the average level of the Slaughter Game, at least Tier Six.

Most of those at Tier Seven are people with no sense of the vastness of the world or crazy gamblers betting with their lives.

Su Changxing did not intend to delay further; his injuries had not fully healed, but the Slaughter Game did not start immediately, and he needed to wait for quite some time after entering.

He made his way from a secluded place towards the Thundercloud Tower and from a distance saw the huge crowds surrounding it.

Of course,

most were not there to participate, just to watch the excitement.

Everyone likes to join in the fun, and these high-level players were no exception.

Su Changxing immediately spotted the Buddha Son from Magpie Mountain Temple; after all, a group of bald monks gathered there was hard to miss.

The Buddha Son was also a young bald-headed man, bearing some resemblance to Monk Weihuo since they both shaved their heads.

He gave off a very bright feeling and stood out in the crowd, his eyes full of Buddha Nature, mercy, and solemnity.

”Quite similar.”

Su Changxing thought, always finding some resemblance between this Buddha Son and Monk Weihuo, except Monk Weihuo felt more approachable.

In this city, it wasn’t just the Buddha Son participating in the Slaughter Game; there were other new players who were also elites, all at Tier Six.

Once they passed the Slaughter Game and gained qualification to advance to Tier Five, they would soar to great heights.

Tier Five players are top-tier in the Eighth Dimension.

”This time, quite a few people from Thundercloud City are participating in the Slaughter Game; maybe someone from our city will take first place.”

A man in a suit with large round sunglasses was chattering below.

He was clearly an old player, but only at Tier Seven, living idly in the city, forced to do tasks when necessary.

Every high-level player has a bottom line, completing at least one task within a period.

”Maybe there really is a chance this time, after all, the Buddha Son from Magpie Mountain Temple is participating; during the last time our city took first place, it was also with the participation of their Buddha Son.”

”But I heard that though that Buddha Son survived the Slaughter Game, he died in a mission before he had a chance to advance—what terrible luck.”

”I think it’s inherently questionable for a monk to participate in such a slaughter game...”

Just as they were talking.

A few monks holding staffs walked over, their expressions unfriendly, seemingly having heard their discussions.

The middle-aged monk at the front had a scar on his face; he first bowed and then seriously said, ”Gentlemen, isn’t it inappropriate to discuss our Magpie Mountain Temple’s Buddha Son in such a biased manner?”

Hearing these words, the few people talking earlier paled slightly.

The man in a suit with large round sunglasses awkwardly laughed and said, ”We’re biased, our apologies, please forgive us, haha, forgive us, forgive us.”
