Global Game: I Have Portable Store

Chapter 385: Chapter 379: Plunder

”I’m off.”

After waking up, the monk nodded to Su Changxing and set off again, his words crisp and without a hint of hesitation.

He had grown stronger.

In a rather abrupt way.

The way Extraordinary individuals grow stronger is quite mysterious, as long as it aligns with internal rules.

Su Changxing felt there was some secret in this that the monk didn’t know about, but it didn’t mean anything to him.

Once a person is obsessed, they become different.

”The monk shouldn’t die, right?”

Su Changxing lowered his head in thought, muttering to himself.

The monk’s actual strength was greater than he showed, at least a top Tier Nine Extraordinary. Even before he became an Extraordinary, he possessed a supernatural power.

If he only wanted to escape, it would be easy enough.

In the ensuing time, Su Changxing passed the time scrolling through forums on his phone, just like before the doomsday, until the clatter of footsteps echoed again in the stairwell, and this time there were quite a few people.

”This place has clearly been swept by others, there’s definitely nothing left upstairs.”

”That’s not necessarily true. Someone found a type of fruit on the rooftop before that filled them up for ten full meals and increased their power, similar to an enhancement.”

”That’s so bizarre? Anyway, I don’t think there’s anything up there. It’s a waste of effort, besides zombies, what else could be there?”

Four or five young men with weapons, looking travel-worn, emerged from the staircase.

”There’s a dead body here, and a backpack. Go check if there’s anything useful inside. His gloves look pretty good too, strip them down.”

A young man with yellow-dyed hair and a denim jacket at the front instructed the people behind him.

In such an environment, they had no qualms about dead bodies. As long as it couldn’t be eaten, it seemed anything else could be done with it.

But cannibalism was still a major taboo unless they were on the brink of starvation.

Someone started walking towards Su Changxing.

The sound of footsteps echoed in his ears.

”You’d better leave now.”

Su Changxing suddenly opened his eyes and said calmly.

The person was clearly startled and asked, ”You... you’re not dead yet?”

At the same time, he noticed the food container next to Su Changxing, still slick with oil, and then glancing at Su Changxing’s backpack.

Huangmao stepped forward, staring at Su Changxing, and said, ”Kid, hand over your backpack, or don’t blame us for being rude.”

They all smelled the aroma of food in the air, like the most tempting poison, making them impulsive. Even a little bit of food could be the driving force for their actions.

These guys weren’t Extraordinary, and their strength shouldn’t be strong either.

Su Changxing’s lips curled up, smiling slyly, ”If I were you, I would leave immediately. Staying alive is what’s most important, don’t you think?”

Huang felt that invisible pressure, suffocating him, his eyes bloodshot, ”What can a cripple like you do.”

Saying this, he prepared to make a move to snatch the backpack.

Su Changxing grabbed his arm with one hand and yanked downwards. Huangmao’s body immediately slammed to the ground with a crisp thud, trembling continuously.

”Let go of him!”

The person behind shouted, but simultaneously backed away quickly, aware that Su Changxing was a dangerous existence.

That heavy sense of power was clearly not something an ordinary person could possess, and they knew about the existence of Extraordinary types, deducing that Su Changxing was definitely not ordinary.

Su Changxing grabbed Huangmao’s body with one hand and tossed him towards them, smiling as he said:

”Take him away. If you want to die, you can always come back.”

With that, the few of them took Huangmao and fled in a panic, as if wild beasts were chasing them, one of them even tripping at the door for no apparent reason.

”Seems like I’ll need to find another place.”

Su Changxing muttered to himself, still casually browsing his phone, since he couldn’t move his legs, crawling would be undignified.

······

”Boss, we found an Extraordinary on one of the buildings, we nearly got killed up there.”

Huangmao plopped onto a chair, still looking apprehensive.

In front of him stood a shirtless man with short hair, also wearing a short jacket, questioning curiously, ”An Extraordinary? What happened?”

Another person chimed in, ”He had one hand disabled, leaning against the railing on the rooftop. We first thought he was dead, but there was a backpack, so we wanted to check it out, turns out he was still alive.”

”His backpack had a lot of good stuff, so we wanted to take it, but he subdued Brother Chen in an instant, yet didn’t try to kill us and let us go.”

The shirtless man frowned and said:

”Weren’t you looking for resources? Why were you trying to rob someone else?”

Huangmao said nonchalantly, ”I thought he was done for, it was better the stuff benefitted us... I’m not sure if he’s an Extraordinary, but that strength is way beyond my resistance, it’s terrifying.”

He paused and added, ”For a person like that to be hurt this badly, this world is truly frightening.”

The shirtless man pondered for a while before saying:

”Where is he? Take me to him.”

Huangmao showed a surprised look and quickly said, ”Boss, there’s no need. Even if his backpack has good things, it’s not worth risking for a bit of food.”

The man snapped, ”Do you know anything besides robbing? I want to get to know him, he’s an Extraordinary after all, there’s no harm in getting acquainted.”

Huangmao hesitated, ”But he said he’d kill us if we went back.”

The man glanced at him and affirmed, ”Let’s go and see.”

······

When they returned to the rooftop, they found it deserted, leaving behind only empty food containers and water bottles.

”Sure enough, he’s gone. What a pity.”

The man said regretfully.

Huangmao asked in confusion, ”Boss, what’s such a pity?”

The man replied with a serious expression:

”Of course, it’s about asking him about Extraordinary matters. Becoming an Extraordinary is the real deal; I don’t think this so-called Doomsday Game is that simple.”

Huangmao sighed and said:

”Isn’t it said only Superpower Users have a chance to become Extraordinary? We’re all Ordinary People, probably don’t have the chance.”

The man shook his head and turned away, saying, ”We should also get ready to leave this area; there’s word that Chenxi’s people are coming here, better avoid running into them.”

In a place like this, they couldn’t hope for anyone’s mercy, only try to ensure their own safety, living like rats in the gutter.
