Chapter 383: Chapter 377: Chenxi’s Plan

Liu Fu stared at his severed arm, not yet understanding what had happened, when he heard a series of intense gunshots.

The sound was both familiar and strange.

It was like a grand display of fireworks, seven or eight people’s heads exploded simultaneously, forming a spray of blood in the air.

The monk’s fair face was splattered with several drops of blood.

He was astonished to see everyone in front of him fall to the ground, clearly the act of Su Changxing, who decisively stepped forward over the bodies.

The stark contrast between reality and expectation threw Chenxi’s people into brief chaos. No one dared to step forward and block the way, as whoever did would be under the gunfire.

The monk ran quickly and dashed past, while several arrows flying from behind were all blocked by Su Changxing.

Su Changxing calmly changed to a new magazine, raised his hand, and shot down those at the front. Suddenly, the people behind stopped in their tracks.

The fighting capabilities of the two sides were not on the same level at all. The other side had guns, while they were primitive people wielding sticks.

”Captain, what do we do now?”

A person in tight-fitting clothes approached Liu Fu and asked.

”What do we do?”

Liu Fu, his face pale, clutched his bleeding broken arm and shouted angrily:

”How should I know what to do? Who can tell me why he has a gun, where did this person come from?”

All the people involved in the operation had records, and in his impression, this person didn’t exist, let alone have a handgun.

He took a deep breath to calm himself, and said, ”Quick, report immediately. Say that Monk Weihuo emerged from No-Man’s Land carrying someone with a gun, capable of shooting, and it’s very powerful.”

······

Chenxi’s people did not follow.

The monk chanted scriptures, and these zombies seemed not to see him, ignoring him. He carried Su Changxing to the rooftop of a tall building, incidentally clearing the zombies there.

He looked at the gun on Su Changxing’s waist and musingly said, ”No wonder we rarely went down the mountain before, guns are indeed powerful.”

Su Changxing leaned against the edge of the rooftop, took out a phone, and smiled, ”That might not be the case in the future.”

The monk also sat down to rest beside him, saying, ”I brought you out, you can at least tell me the way to get in now, right?”

Su Changxing pointed to the phone and said, ”Well, you guys probably don’t need to go back in, just check the announcement on the forum.”

The monk, puzzled, took out his phone, looked at it, and then suddenly shot his head up, saying, ”You knew all along, you tricked me.”

”This can’t be considered as tricking you. Didn’t you accomplish your goal, and I came out too. Aren’t we in a win-win situation?” Su Changxing explained.

”Hmm? Is that so.”

The monk couldn’t quite wrap his mind around it for a moment, felt Su Changxing’s words seemed off, but couldn’t pinpoint the problem.

Su Changxing took a bottle of water from his backpack and handed it to the monk, ”Here, a reward for you. I think what you should be concerned about now is those Chenxi people, haven’t you noticed something strange about their actions?”

The monk started pondering, ”Yeah, since we’ve achieved our goal, why wouldn’t they let us out...”

Then he suddenly realized, ”They knew about this right away and are preparing to wipe others out. Why would they do that? They’ll face retribution.”

Seeing the monk catch on, Su Changxing took out two boxes of self-heating rice from his backpack, saying:

”Yes, exactly. Let’s not think about it for now. Go prepare these, one box each, we’ll eat first then talk.”

”Oh.”

The monk naturally opened the two boxes of self-heating rice, added water to soak them, and asked as he did:

”So what should I do now, if those Chenxi people want to silence us?”

Su Changxing yawned and said, ”What else can you do? Call on your fellow monks and run away, hide, Chenxi’s power is definitely bigger than your small temple’s.”

Worry appeared on the monk’s face as he said:

”But some of our people are still in No-Man’s Land. It’s over, they’re probably doomed now.”

Su Changxing washed the dirt off his face with water, jokingly suggesting:

”Or maybe after eating, you can run back in to save them?”

The monk wasn’t foolish and said, ”If I go now, it’ll definitely be too late... but our temple has always stayed neutral, they shouldn’t lay hands on us.”

Su Changxing shrugged and said, ”True, but who knows, your brothers might have already joined Chenxi, that would be the logical progression.”

The monk caught on and said, ”You knew all along, why didn’t you tell me.”

Su Changxing candidly said, ”If I told you, we probably wouldn’t have made it out. Isn’t being alive better?”

He pushed a box of steaming rice in front of the monk, ”This self-heating rice isn’t bad. Once this chance is gone, there won’t be any more.”

The monk, indeed hungry, picked up the rice and ate large mouthfuls, mumbling, ”Why do you think those Chenxi people would do this?”

Su Changxing shook his head and said, ”How should I know? I’m not one of Chenxi’s. Maybe this was a plan they made beforehand?”

”A plan they made beforehand?”

The monk paused his eating and looked at Su Changxing with confusion.

Su Changxing nodded, ”Didn’t they say some people foretold the apocalypse’s coming? Do you know where that rumor started?”

The monk thought for a moment, shook his head and said:

”No, we did receive similar news, but no one believed it, it sounded absurd, after all, predictions are unreliable.”

Su Changxing found having only one hand inconvenient, had to hold the lunch box to his chest while eating, and continued:

”Exactly, if that message was spread by Chenxi, everything makes sense, it was all part of their plan.”

”For instance, what time to start taking action against other forces, or to absorb secret organizations like yours.”

The monk again stopped eating, looked at Su Changxing in shock, a thought flashed in his mind, saying:

”Donor Su, you wouldn’t happen to be with Chenxi, would you?”

Su Changxing almost choked on his food, almost spewed the rice out, and slightly irritated, said:

”I mean, is that possible? If I were with Chenxi, they would have taken me out a long time ago, why would I need you?”

The monk nodded in agreement, ”Right, but how do you know so much?”

Su Changxing set down the finished lunch box, saying, ”I guessed, of course.”

The monk paused, ”But you sounded so certain.”

Su Changxing thought for a moment and said, ”Did I? Maybe I just think this possibility is quite high.”
