Reborn As Noble

”Myra! Start casting the healing skill.” Javier kept performing mana-based CPR, his focus entirely on tracing Gracelle’s faint mana signature.

Myra nodded and smiled faintly, raising both palms gracefully. She turned them outward, then aimed them toward Gracelle, her hands glowing with a soft, white light that enveloped the girl’s entire body in a warm, healing aura.

Javier pulled his hands back and reached for the mana defibrillator, a sleek, magically enhanced device designed to deliver a controlled shock to restart the heart. He retrieved a jar of spirit-conductive jelly from his dimensional storage and applied a generous amount beneath Gracelle’s breasts, ensuring optimal conductivity.

He turned on the mana defibrillator and lifted two special paddles, crafted from a blend of mithril and a rare, mana-conductive alloy, their surfaces etched with intricate runes.

He pressed the mithril paddles firmly onto the gelled areas, his movements precise and steady.

”Keep some distance and don’t touch the patient, Myra.”

Myra nodded and continued channeling her healing skill.

Javier’s finger hovered over the trigger, and shouted after making sure no one was touching Gracelle. ”Clear!”

The moment he pressed the trigger, a controlled surge of mana pulsed through the paddles, and Javier traced the faint mana signature and heartbeat through his unique monocle.

”Myra, keep channeling healing along with cure and purify skills.”

”Don’t worry, Your Highness. I’m already maintaining cure, purify, and anti-curse protocols while channeling healing. It’s standard procedure we at the Armand Healing Facility Corp always follow when encountering unknown afflictions.”

Javier smiled faintly, nodding with pride. ”I’m glad Father decided to increase funding for the Healer Corp. And I’m glad he brought you. Just make sure to stay outside the containment field generated by the floating cubes. They’re designed to capture any curse or poison that might be expelled from Gracelle’s body.”

He glanced at Myra thoughtfully. ”I think we should upgrade the Armand Healer Corp further. Maybe establish the Armand Royal Surgical Hospital & Academy.”

Myra responded politely, a hint of excitement in her voice. ”That would be wonderful, Your Highness. And perhaps the emblem could feature a Pekko?”

Javier smiled faintly. ”Of course. But now we should focus on stabilizing her condition.”

He reached for the mana ventilator and adjusted it to deliver a steady flow of oxygen to Gracelle’s lungs. Then he pulled out one cube shimmering with white light and positioned it floating above Gracelle’s face.

He glanced at Myra. ”I think we need to prepare an operation room.” He retrieved a vial of special liquid and a surgical spirit-infused injection needle, preparing to administer a stabilizing agent.

Myra glanced at Javier’s hands as he prepared the injection. He soaked a cotton swab in surgical spirit, rubbed it gently on the injection site, and carefully administered the stabilizing agent into Gracelle’s arm.

”Pardon me, Your Highness, but may I ask?”

”Yes, Myra? What is it?” Javier said after finishing the injection and began attaching various monitoring devices, a mana multi-parameter patient monitor, an electrocardiogram, a pulse oximeter, and other vital-sign trackers. Gracelle’s condition stabilized after the injection, though she remained unconscious.

”What was that thing you just used?” Myra asked, referring to the injection.

Javier explained while monitoring Gracelle’s stable condition through the magical machines. ”It’s a stabilizing agent, designed to support her body’s natural functions while we work to identify and treat the underlying cause. It helps maintain her vitals while we prepare for the next steps.”

”Oh...” Myra nodded in understanding.

Javier smiled faintly, relieved. ”You can stop channeling your skills now, Myra. It’ll be tiring if you continue, and I don’t want to risk exhausting you.”

Myra just smiled. ”Don’t worry, Your Highness. Most Armand healers, including myself, have undergone rigorous training in mana control and endurance. We can sustain continuous healing for over twenty-four hours without risk of mana depletion or exhaustion.”

Javier smiled and took a seat, keeping his eyes on Gracelle. ”I know... but humans also need rest. Even the strongest healers need to pace themselves to avoid burnout.”

Javier leaned back in the chair and glanced at Liana.

”Liana?”

Liana, who had been waiting from a distance, gracefully walked toward him with a faint smile.

”Yes, Young Master?”

Javier tapped his lap and signaled Liana to sit on it.

Liana shook her head and let out a faint, weary smile. ”Young Master... do you think this is suitable for us to be sweet and affectionate right now?”

She glanced at Myra. ”Just look at your prince here, trying to be sweet in the middle of a medical emergency.”

Myra let out a soft chuckle. ”Well... that’s how he is.”

Javier just smiled and looked up at Liana without saying a word.

Liana exhaled softly and gracefully sat on his lap, leaning back against his body.

”Young Master?”

”Hmm?”

”Do you think Gracelle will survive?”

Javier glanced at Myra before resting his chin on Liana’s head.

”Let’s hope so. But for now, I’m sure she’s stable.” He turned his gaze toward Myra.

”Myra?”

”Yes, Your Highness?”

”Are there any other healers with you?”

”Yes, Your Highness.” Myra nodded softly. ”Two others came with me, my assistant and another senior healer.”

”Good. Go meet Erinette and ask her to prepare a suitable room within this estate for surgery in 30 minutes. Once the room is selected, ask Erinette to assign two battle maids and two elite guard units to guard this room.” Javier paused, his expression turning serious. ”No one comes in or out, except for Armand personnel and family.”

Liana leaned forward slightly and glanced at Javier, while Myra looked at him curiously.

”May I ask why, Your Highness?” Myra inquired.

”Since I suspect that someone within this Mathrias estate is responsible for Gracelle’s suffering and her condition,” Javier replied, his voice low. ”But we won’t know for sure yet.”

Javier pulled Liana closer, hugging her from behind and resting his chin on her shoulder. ”I suspect this is related to a curse poison or something that was fed to her, likely through her food or drink. It’s a slow-acting affliction designed to mimic illness.”

Myra crossed her arms and tapped her chin thoughtfully, her lips pursed slightly. ”No wonder the other healers couldn’t heal her, and even the priests couldn’t do anything.” She took out a notebook and pen, jotting down notes while mumbling to herself.

”This would be interesting to learn a new method of healing and detection.”
