The Wizard Has A Biochip

Three months later...

.

.

.

.

Time passed much faster than I had imagined.

During those three months, my routine became almost mechanical.

Wake up.

Practice the Gil Family Breathing Technique.

Eat.

Pretend to study just enough to keep up appearances.

Train again.

Sleep.

Repeat.

The Biochip controlled every detail.

At that moment, I was alone in my room.

Standing in front of the metal mirror attached to the wall, which I had stolen from a weaker acolyte who happened to be my neighbor. He lived in the room next to mine.

I had stolen a few sets of clothes as well. After all, my old ones no longer fit my new body.

I slowly flexed my right arm.

My bicep immediately tensed.

Then I turned sideways.

I tightened my abs.

The reflection staring back at me looked like an entirely different person.

Over those three months, my body had changed completely.

My height had increased to approximately one meter and eighty centimeters.

My shoulders had become broad.

My chest thick and powerful.

My arms had developed dense muscles.

My back was as wide as a fortress wall.

My abdomen was perfectly defined.

Even my face had changed.

My jawline had become far more pronounced.

The youthful softness of my features had disappeared, replaced by a firm and imposing presence.

For a brief moment...

I remembered images of Arnold Schwarzenegger during the peak of his bodybuilding career.

...

My smile widened even further.

Naturally, I didn’t possess the exact same physique.

But that was the closest comparison my mind could find.

My entire frame had been transformed.

—Biochip.

Show me my status.

[Beep!]

[STATUS]

Name: George Gil

Sex: Male

Age: 15

[PHYSICAL STATUS]

Strength: 2.5

Agility: 2.1

Endurance: 2.9

I stared at those numbers for several seconds.

They were the result of three months of absolute dedication.

Thousands of breathing cycles.

Hundreds of carefully calculated meals.

Countless hours of training.

Even so...

I crossed my arms.

My progress had begun to slow.

My body had started developing resistance to the method.

The Gil Family Breathing Technique had natural limits.

According to the Biochip’s analysis, its maximum potential was approximately 3.0 points in each attribute for someone under my current conditions.

The closer I got to that limit...

The smaller the gains from each training session became.

Now, increasing an attribute by just one tenth required entire weeks of training.

It was to be expected...

I looked at my arms once again.

I slowly activated the circulation of my vital energy.

Buzz~~

A warm, electric sensation spread throughout my body.

My muscles tightened.

A faint bluish aura flowed across my skin before disappearing almost immediately.

I smiled.

I had already reached the same level as Baron George III Gil.

I could now fully understand how the technique from that memory actually worked.

If I had a sword, I could almost certainly replicate that blade of energy attack.

Besides the changes to my body...

The tower had also changed considerably over those three months.

The newly arrived acolytes had finally learned the magical alphabet.

They had also mastered the numerical system used by mages.

The conversations in the hallways were no longer about identifying symbols.

Now they discussed combinations.

Structures.

Small magical codes.

Some of the more talented students had already begun elemental meditation.

It was exactly the pace I had expected.

I smiled faintly.

Next month...

It would probably be the perfect time for me to begin doing the same.

No one would find it strange.

It would simply seem as though I had finally caught up with the other acolytes.

I stepped away from the mirror and walked over to the window of my room, leaning against it as I organized my thoughts.

The books given to new acolytes clearly explained the basic structure of magical advancement.

First...

Level 0 Acolyte.

Every human born with magical talent began at this stage.

Without exception.

Then...

Level 1 Acolyte.

At this point, the body already possessed magical codes engraved within it.

These allowed one to perceive, absorb, and circulate magical energy.

Next...

Level 2 Acolyte.

The practitioner finally became capable of casting simple low-level spells.

Then...

Level 3 Acolyte.

The final stage before true transformation.

At this level, one’s control over magic became significantly more refined and efficient.

Finally...

Rank 1 Mage.

The first major milestone.

From that point onward, one ceased to be merely an apprentice.

They were officially recognized as a true mage.

All of this information was public.

Any acolyte could find it in the tower’s introductory books.

However...

There was one interesting detail.

There was absolutely no information explaining the path from a Level 1 Acolyte to a Level 2 Acolyte.

No formulas.

No techniques.

No theories.

I smiled faintly.

That was hardly an oversight.

Knowledge was power.

And power was rarely given away for free.

It was highly likely that only the tower’s professors were authorized to teach those more advanced stages.

Now that I finally possessed enough strength to defend myself.

The time had come.

I was going to visit the Death Arena.

It was exactly the kind of place I needed to see.

Not to fight.

Not yet.

First...

I needed to understand its rules.

How it operated.

The opportunities hidden within that environment.

After all...

Knowledge was always worth more than strength.

I couldn’t really blame those who spent their time there, either.

I ran a hand through my hair.

Not everyone could spend the entire day locked away studying.

I remembered several acolytes I had met over those months.

Some of them barely left their rooms.

They slept very little.

Ate in a hurry.

Then immediately returned to their books.

Others...

Seemed incapable of remaining seated for more than half an hour.

They were always looking for some kind of distraction.

The Arena was certainly the perfect place for people like that.

I picked up the key from the table.

I opened the door.

Click~~

I stepped into the hallway.

I closed the door again.

Locked it.

Then I calmly walked down the enormous stone corridor.

Unlike during my first few days...

I was now familiar with much of this floor.

I greeted a few familiar faces.

They nodded back.

I headed toward the center of the residential wing.

There stood a circular structure built from black stone.

At its center...

Was a metallic platform surrounded by small pillars covered with translucent crystals.

It was the tower’s elevator.

I walked over.

Three other acolytes were already waiting.

A few seconds later...

The platform began emitting a bluish glow.

A faint humming sound spread through the area.

Without the slightest jolt...

It simply began descending.

I stepped aboard together with the others.

There were no cables.

No visible gears.

No central shaft supporting the platform.

It simply...

Floated.

I folded my arms.

That immediately awakened the engineer inside me.

I moved closer to the edge.

Then discreetly looked down.

—Biochip.

—Analyze this elevator.

[Beep!]

[Scanning structure...]

My field of vision immediately changed.

The platform’s metallic walls became translucent.

Numerous blue lines highlighted its internal structure.

I saw dozens of perfectly interlocked metal plates.

Small channels ran throughout the entire base.

Glowing crystals were arranged in remarkably symmetrical positions.

An intricate network of internal structures connected everything together.

It was an extraordinarily sophisticated piece of engineering.

Far more refined than any conventional elevator on Earth.

The Biochip continued analyzing for several more seconds.

Then...

The report appeared.

[Structural Analysis]

[Unknown metal alloy.]

[Structural integrity: 99.8%]

[Internal system: Multiple energy channels identified connecting luminous crystals.]

[Estimated function: Uniform distribution of energy throughout the entire platform.]

[Analysis Result]

[Structural mechanism partially understood.]

[Source of support...]

[Unknown.]

[Levitation method...]

[Unknown.]

[Underlying physical principle...]

[Not present in database.]

[Insufficient information to formulate a reliable hypothesis.]

I slowly raised an eyebrow, though I wasn’t entirely surprised.

[Recommendation: Gather additional information regarding magical engineering.]

It was fascinating.

Back on Earth...

Every elevator required cables.

Motors.

Counterweights.

Or hydraulic systems.

Here...

None of those seemed to exist.

The platform simply glided through the tower’s enormous shaft as though gravity itself had ceased to exist.

Perhaps...

Magical engineering truly was capable of disregarding laws that, in my former world, had been considered absolute.

After several minutes of silent descent...

The platform gradually began to slow.

A glow once again passed through the crystals.

It came to a perfectly smooth stop.

An inscription carved into the wall identified the location.

[15th Floor.]

The stone doors slid open to either side.
