The Wizard Has A Biochip

I slowly rose from the chair.

I reached toward the candles.

I lightly moistened the tips of my fingers with saliva.

Then gently pinched each wick between my fingers.

~~Pff...

~~Pff...

~~Pff...

The tiny flames disappeared one after another.

The room was plunged into darkness, illuminated only by the moonlight streaming through the window.

I stretched my arms above my head.

Every joint in my body cracked.

I let out a long yawn.

I walked over to the wooden bed.

It wasn’t particularly comfortable, but it wasn’t bad either.

I sat on the edge.

Then slowly lay down.

I pulled the blanket up to my chest.

Closed my eyes.

Mentally, I issued a command.

—Biochip.

—Wake me up exactly eight hours from now.

[Beep!]

[Timer activated.]

[08:00]

[07:59]

.

.

.

I smiled faintly.

Having an alarm clock built directly into my brain was incredibly convenient.

As I waited for sleep to come...

I began organizing my thoughts.

Five months.

According to the previous George’s memories, that was the time remaining until the first official selection at the Tower of Arcangrove.

After that period, every new acolyte would have the opportunity to seek apprenticeship under a professor.

Naturally...

Provided they passed the examinations.

Each master chose their own testing methods.

And none of them accepted students incapable of mastering the fundamentals.

Reading.

Writing.

Counting using the magical numerical system.

Without those...

It was impossible to even understand a magic circle, much less grasp any advanced material.

The very book on the Magic Alphabet made that perfectly clear.

Slowly...

My thoughts began to lose their clarity.

Fatigue won.

My consciousness gradually sank away.

Until...

I fell asleep.

.

Some time later...

.

[00:03]

[00:02]

[00:01]

The countdown reached zero.

Then...

[Trinnngg~~~~]

[Trinnngg~~~~]

I opened my eyes immediately.

No fright.

No sudden jolt.

I simply woke up exactly at the scheduled time.

I took a deep breath.

The warm sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating the entire room.

The extinguished candles on the table were now unnecessary.

I spent a few seconds simply staring at the stone ceiling.

Then I smiled.

My first night in another world.

I sat up in bed.

Pushed the blanket aside.

Got to my feet.

Walked over to the window.

The scenery was completely different from the previous night.

Under the daylight, the forest seemed even more vast.

The wind gently swayed the green sea of treetops.

Back on Earth...

My window overlooked concrete.

Glass.

Steel.

Buildings.

Streets.

Cars.

A true jungle of iron.

As I observed the landscape, I issued another mental command.

—Biochip.

—Perform a complete analysis of my physical body.

—Quantify every possible parameter and translate the results into a simple report.

[Beep.]

[Initiating biometric analysis.]

A gentle warmth spread throughout my body.

It felt similar to undergoing an extremely advanced medical examination.

[Scanning skeletal structure...]

[Complete.]

[Analyzing muscle mass...]

[Complete.]

[Checking heart rate...]

[Complete.]

[Calculating body composition...]

[Complete.]

[Analyzing motor coordination...]

[Complete.]

[Quantifying physical capabilities...]

.

.

.

A few seconds later...

The report was complete.

A translucent hologram appeared before my eyes.

[STATUS]

Name: George Gil

Sex: Male

Age: 15

[BODY STATUS]

Strength: 0.7

Agility: 0.8

Endurance: 0.9

I stared at those numbers for several moments.

I crossed my arms.

I need to strengthen this body...

But right now, something else was far more important.

Last night, among all the material, there had been an introductory volume.

[Basic Elemental Meditation Technique.]

I turned my attention to it.

—Biochip.

The electronic voice responded immediately.

[Beep.]

—Generate a complete report on this technique.

A few seconds later, the hologram appeared before my eyes.

[Technique Report]

[Name: Basic Elemental Meditation Technique]

[Classification: Fundamental]

[Level: Beginner]

[Objective: Awaken the natural ability to perceive and absorb magical energy.]

[Operating Principle]

[The human body possesses latent spiritual organs, incapable of naturally interacting with the magical energy present in the environment.]

[The technique proposes the construction of an Internal Magic Code.]

[This code is composed of letters, numbers, and symbols from the Magic Alphabet, arranged in a specific sequence.]

[Once completed, the code functions as a permanent set of instructions for the body.]

.

.

.

[Function of the Code]

[Gradually awaken the spiritual organs.]

[Allow those organs to detect particles of magical energy present in the environment.]

[Convert wild magical energy into energy usable by the host.]

[Notes]

[The technique’s performance depends on the precision of the magical script.]

I read the entire report.

Slowly, I stroked my chin.

In this world...

Words truly possessed power.

On Earth...

Writing something on your own body was nothing more than ink on skin.

A drawing remained just a drawing.

A word...

Was only a word.

Here...

It was different.

Magic letters didn’t merely represent sounds.

They represented concepts.

Rules.

Laws.

When arranged correctly...

They instructed the body itself to transform.

It was almost like programming a living organism.

My eyes lit up.

I smiled.

The more I thought about it...

The more it resembled programming.

The only difference...

Was that the computer was the human body itself.

Then an idea struck me.

—Biochip.

[Awaiting command.]

—Using all the information obtained so far...

—Based on my body, completely redesign this Basic Elemental Meditation Technique so that it is perfectly compatible with me.

Silence.

A moment later...

Multiple windows began appearing.

[Initiating simulation.]

[Comparing standard technique.]

[Detecting incompatibilities.]

.

.

.

.

[Correction 1...]

[Correction 7...]

[Correction 18...]

[Correction 41...]

The number of modifications kept increasing.

Nearly ten minutes later...

The report finally appeared.

[Optimized Version]

[Temporary Name: Adapted Basic Elemental Technique]

[Modifications Performed]

[Adjusted the distribution of magical inscriptions to match the host’s body proportions.]

[Corrected the spacing between symbols.]

[Recalibrated numerical parameters.]

[Reduced energy waste during activation.]

[Increased the theoretical efficiency of ambient energy absorption.]

[Eliminated redundancies present in the standard version.]

[Simulation Results]

[Original technique efficiency: 50% (Standard Model)]

[Host-adapted efficiency: 93%]

[Observation]

[The original technique was designed as a universal model for thousands of students.]

[Its design prioritizes broad compatibility over individual performance.]

[The optimized version eliminates limitations resulting from standardization.]

I let out a low whistle.

—Not bad...

That made perfect sense.

The technique distributed by the Tower had to work for anyone.

Tall.

Short.

Thin.

Strong.

There was no personalization.

It was like clothing made in a single universal size.

It fit everyone.

But never perfectly.

The biochip had simply done what no professor would ever do for me free of charge.

Adapt it exclusively to my body.

—Excellent work.

Then I gave another command.

—Save this version to the database.

[Language]

1.[Magic Alphabet]

2.[Magic Numerical System]

[Techniques]

1.[Adapted Basic Elemental Technique]

[Save complete.]

I crossed my arms once again.

For several seconds...

I considered immediately beginning the construction of my first Magic Code within my body.

The technique was ready.

I fully understood its structure.

All I had to do was begin.

But...

I quickly dismissed the idea.

I slowly shook my head.

That would be a mistake.

The previous George’s memories made it perfectly clear.

Even the five-star talents among the newly arrived acolytes were still learning the Magic Alphabet.

Many hadn’t even fully mastered the Magic Numerical System.

None of the novices should have been capable of constructing a functional Magic Code so soon.

If I suddenly appeared with a perfectly inscribed code inside my body...

I would attract far too much attention.

And attention...

Was exactly what I wanted to avoid.

After all...

Inside this tower, I was surrounded by mages.

Researchers.

People who had devoted their entire lives to the study of magic.

If any of them discovered that a fifteen-year-old boy had perfected a fundamental technique in a single night...

The consequences could be disastrous.

At best, I would be interrogated.

At worst...

Turned into a research specimen.

I had absolutely no intention of spending the rest of my life locked inside a magical laboratory.

For a moment...

I looked out the window at the immense forest below the tower.

The best way to survive...

Is to pretend you’re ordinary.

I would wait.

Carefully observing the pace of the other acolytes.

And only when constructing a Magic Code was no longer considered extraordinary for a novice...

Would I take that step.

Until then...

It was better to keep a low profile.
