Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 392: Chapter 290: Norns’s Sichuan Opera Performance

Meanwhile, after leaving the Underground Palace City, Isaac knew a little about the arms race the Demon Gods were engaged in, but he didn’t pay it much mind. After all, this was actually good news for him.

This meant the Demon Gods weren’t focused on him, increasing the odds that the Underground Palace could be fully conquered. This was a good thing.

Besides, what Isaac was currently occupied with was far more important—observing the out-of-control Virtual Deities!

Three years ago, before holing himself up in seclusion, Isaac had scattered eight Virtual Divinities across this Wilderness. Now, more than three years later, it was time to test his [Miracle]’s control over these Virtual Deities with which he had long lost contact.

Three years had passed. In Isaac’s perception, only three of the original eight Virtual Divinities remained. Of the five that had disappeared, three were defective; their lifespans were only two years, so they had expired naturally. The other two had been killed.

It was unclear who had killed them. It could have been members of a Sect, Demons from the Underground Palace, or even powerhouses from the Real World. There were too many variables.

But that wasn’t important. They were merely Virtual Deities; if they died, they died. What Isaac truly cared about were the three that had survived.

They were the Master of Blood, the Sovereign of Evil Thoughts, and the Staff of Deformation. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

The Master of Blood and the Sovereign of Evil Thoughts had been found by a Gnome and a Stone Dwarf, respectively, and had established their own Sects. The Staff of Deformation, meanwhile, had fallen into the hands of a human, who was masquerading as a Wizard from the outside.

Following a mental connection, Isaac first sought out the Sovereign of Evil Thoughts, the Stone Dwarf, because its greatest strength was the Power of the Mind, making its potential for betrayal the highest.

Soon, Isaac arrived outside a mountain valley, a type of terrain extremely rare in the Wilderness.

Arriving silently outside the valley, Isaac used the special sensory ability granted by his [Miracle] to clearly perceive the Stone Dwarf’s condition inside, as well as the degree of his control over its Virtual Divinity.

The Stone Dwarf’s condition was quite poor; it had been beaten half to death and could perish at any moment. It was currently devouring its few Believers in an attempt to recover from its injuries.

But in contrast to the Stone Dwarf’s dire situation, Isaac’s control over the Virtual Divinity remained quite high!

’The situation is just as I predicted. My absolute control over the Virtual Divinities is defined by range. Within a thousand-li radius of my position, the power of the three closest Virtual Divinities will be instantly reclaimed!’

’That includes unused Virtual Divinities!’

’So, in the future, until I can increase this number, the most stable approach is a 2+1 configuration: two Virtual Deities plus one Virtual Divinity. The former is self-explanatory, as it maximizes combat power. The latter can be used to enhance my own Magic and serve as an emergency trump card.’

’Carrying a Virtual Divinity on my person is equivalent to carrying a Tier Four Powerhouse!’

’Even if it can’t exert its full strength on short notice, it still has the ability to turn the tide of battle most of the time!’

However, even though it was within reclamation range, Isaac didn’t reclaim the Sovereign of Evil Thoughts. The reason was simple: these eight Virtual Divinities were all charged with Magic Power, meaning their strength had a time limit.

Even though this particular one had a relatively high degree of completion, it only had about half a year of power left. It would be better to create a new one than to reclaim it.

’As for this one...’

Isaac, hidden in the Void, glanced at both sides of the valley with a strange expression. ’Perfect. I can collect some combat data while I’m at it...’

’Besides, the people ambushing the Stone Dwarf are old acquaintances. Shouldn’t I give them a proper ”welcome”?’

Isaac’s eyes narrowed slightly, the corners of his mouth turning up. With a flick of his finger, a pebble shot up from the ground and struck a dark helmet, letting out a crisp sound.

”CLANG~”

The crisp sound made everyone’s expression change abruptly. This sudden development made them realize there was a ”Yellow Sparrow” present!

But right now, they couldn’t afford to worry about the Yellow Sparrow, because the Sovereign of Evil Thoughts had already discovered them and was launching an attack!

The Sovereign of Evil Thoughts couldn’t care less about any Yellow Sparrow. ’With or without a Yellow Sparrow, I, the ”cicada,” am most likely going to die anyway!’

More importantly, the Sovereign of Evil Thoughts had already roughly guessed the identity of that Yellow Sparrow...

Though faint, it had caught a trace of that aura in an instant. ’There’s no mistake... It’s the Grey-robed Mage who gave me my Divinity three years ago!’

If this had been two and a half years ago, the Stone Dwarf would have been overjoyed and pledged its loyalty!

But now...

The wildness in the Stone Dwarf’s soul had grown untamed over these two and a half years. Now, it only wanted to be the master of its own will!

’After all, I am the Sovereign of Evil Thoughts!’

”YAAAA!!!!”

The Sovereign of Evil Thoughts opened its great maw toward its enemies and let out a silent shriek. An invisible psychic wave instantly erupted outwards. In that moment, everyone charging toward the Sovereign of Evil Thoughts froze, their expressions twisting grotesquely.

Divine Power: Evil Thought Explosion!

It was a Mind Attack that could detonate all the evil thoughts within the minds of any creature in its range!

This Divine Power had a twofold effect. If a target failed to block the invasion of the Power of the Mind, all the dark thoughts deep within their heart would surge uncontrollably. In that instant, the victim would lose all inhibitions and become capable of any vile act.

And if you managed to block the invasion of the Power of the Mind, then congratulations: you would get to ”enjoy” the Divine Power’s second effect—a Mind Shock comparable to Tier Four Magic!
