Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 351: Chapter 257: A Skilled Deep Sea Evil God

At the top of the Mage Tower, a ripple in space appeared, and Isaac stepped out.

The Mage Tower, which had been shut down in preparation for relocation, had been reactivated over the past three days. At the very least, the defensive measures on the seventh floor were fully operational, ready to be used for setting up rituals once more.

Furthermore, while Isaac had been analyzing the ritual data, Liu Li had sorted through all the necessary materials and arranged them according to his requirements.

Thus, when Isaac walked into the Ritual Room on the seventh floor, the reek of fish hit him squarely in the face. The first ritual was ready. All Isaac needed to do now was make a few minor adjustments to Liu Li’s setup to ensure the margin for error was at one thousand percent.

From the thick, fishy stench in the room, it was clear that the other party in this transaction was, once again, a Deep Sea Evil God.

As for why it was yet another Deep Sea Evil God...

That story began with the battle for the island...

During that ritual, Isaac had thoroughly offended the Sea Race. In retaliation, they had not only prepared a heap of sacrificial rituals for Deep Sea Evil Gods for him, but had even gone so far as to send him a large supply of materials, ostensibly worried he would have trouble gathering them himself.

They truly went to great lengths to ensure Isaac would die at the hands of a Deep Sea Evil God!

And Isaac’s territory was in an inland region, no less!

A pity, really. Their calculations were meticulous, but they failed to account for one thing: Isaac was completely fine.

So, thanks to their ”help,” Isaac’s options had been limited. While he had information on numerous Outer Gods, the difficulty of finding materials and issues with compatibility meant he had few viable targets.

But with their assistance, Isaac gathered all the necessary rituals and materials for his operation in just three short days!

And every single one was the top-tier version with a full margin for error!

On top of that, there were even a few rituals he couldn’t use yet due to compatibility issues!

The only downside was that Isaac, while aware of the situation and suspecting it was a honey trap, was too busy to investigate further. For now, he had to set this ”sugar-coated cannonball” aside after enjoying the ”candy.”

Getting back on track, Liu Li truly lived up to her reputation as Isaac’s long-time Servant Demon. Despite lacking the aid of a Golden Finger, she had still arranged the ritual almost perfectly, just over a dozen percentage points shy of the one-thousand-percent maximum.

This level of skill in arranging rituals was something many High-level Mages lacked.

So, after making a few simple adjustments, Isaac began the ritual immediately.

Unlike his previous rituals, this time was different. In the past, to maximize the value of each ritual, Isaac would carefully devise a time-consuming request before starting. This would buy him more time to freely plunder the Mysterious Void.

But times had changed. Now, Isaac cared more about efficiency than cost-effectiveness!

So, after the ritual began and the Deep Sea Evil God’s gaze fell upon him, Isaac cut straight to the chase.

”I want the technique to transform into a High-level Life form.”

With that said, he closed his eyes, and his consciousness plunged directly into the Mysterious Void to begin plundering.

His decisiveness left the Deep Sea Evil God stunned. It wasn’t as if the God hadn’t encountered a Mad Witch before. It had seen them, eaten them, and been swindled by them. When it came to dealing with Mad Witches, it was no rookie.

But even with its extensive experience ”hosting” such transactions, it was momentarily baffled by Isaac’s bluntness.

’Didn’t I just take a little nap?’

’It wasn’t even proper sleep. A few centuries at most had passed in the Real World. Have Mad Witches changed this much in just a few hundred years?’

But the God didn’t stay stunned for long. As Isaac began his plunder in the Mysterious Void, it quickly sensed its own power draining away. That familiar feeling instantly revealed Isaac’s identity—a Mad Witch in the truest sense of the word!

”****************!”

Letting out a curse that was completely censored, the Deep Sea Evil God immediately began to mobilize all its available power to resist Isaac.

It had to be said, its ”hosting” experience was indeed extensive. First, it tried to fight Isaac in the Mysterious Void. But upon sensing Isaac’s unbelievably vast power, it instantly understood.

’Absolute, overwhelming power must be this Mad Witch’s ”specialty.”’

Thus, it decisively gave up on a direct confrontation in the Mysterious Void, instead pouring all its available power into fulfilling Isaac’s request from the ritual.

It knew full well that a head-on confrontation with a lunatic who had developed such a Mad Witch ”specialty” was never the right choice. The chances of winning were slim, and even a victory would be a pyrrhic one—simply not worth the cost.

This wasn’t cowardice. It was simply a fact.

A Mad Witch who had reached Tier Three and developed their ”specialty” was never to be trifled with. At least eight, if not ten, Outer Gods had fallen at the hands of those foul bastards. ’Are you really so sure you’re stronger than those other Outer Gods?’

’The confidence of the powerful is a must, but overconfidence becomes arrogance.’

This was the fundamental reason why it had remained intact after so many years of dealing with Mad Witches!

As long as it didn’t lose an entire Authority—as long as that final line was held—the problem wasn’t too severe. A little damage was nothing a few long naps couldn’t fix.

And sure enough, things turned out just as it had predicted. While Isaac’s Golden Finger gave him an overwhelming advantage in the unfair competition of the Mysterious Void, it also had an upside for the Outer Gods. As long as they didn’t harbor any ill intentions and just conducted a straightforward transaction, they actually stood to benefit.

Because Isaac’s... *offerings* were extremely generous. So generous, in fact, that the Deep Sea Evil God only needed to use about thirty percent of the offerings to fulfill Isaac’s request. It successfully and legitimately transferred ownership of the Knowledge for transforming into a High-level Life form to Isaac, allowing him to use it relatively freely in the Real World.

And then...

And then the ritual ended. Isaac withdrew from the Mysterious Void. The ritual’s margin for error was still close to six hundred percent, an ample buffer.

With that quick in-and-out transaction, the Deep Sea Evil God could go back, have a good sleep, and even come out with a net profit!

This might make the previous Outer Gods seem incredibly foolish, but that wasn’t actually the case.

There are a vast number of Outer Gods in this world, so many that most of them have little to no experience dealing with Mad Witches. Furthermore, Outer Gods are generally greedy. Much like Mad Witches, they possess their own special abilities and tend to be overconfident.

Confident they can triumph over a mere mortal, most Outer Gods enter a transaction with a Mad Witch intending to completely devour their opponent. They fight to the bitter end, and naturally, the cost is immense.

This was also why Isaac rarely traded with the same Outer God twice. As the saying goes, a novel trick works wonders, but once it gets old, it loses its magic.

And this was a prime example!
