Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 367: Chapter 270: Enslaving an Outer God

Tier Four, a Level that was once impossibly distant for Isaac, was now within his grasp.

In the past three years, Isaac had long since finished writing the three Magic Books of a High-level Mage, and each had given birth to a corresponding Power of Legend. Unfortunately, for Isaac as he was now, the strength these powers offered was simply insignificant.

They were even inferior to the power Isaac had picked up from the Outer God. However, they served as a good reserve of Knowledge, and he might find a use for them someday.

For a Legendary Mage to advance to Tier Four, they needed to create three Miracles for the world.

The so-called Miracles referred to automatically triggered rituals, similar to the Divine Lamp Trial and the island scramble. Completing the ritual would grant certain rewards. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

The number of Miracles required for advancement was also three, following the mystic principle of three.

And Miracles, just like the rituals and stories before them, came in different combinations. They could be constructed from the stories one wrote themselves, extracted from past history, or even be entirely fictional. For example, the Divine Lamp Trial was a Miracle that was completely fabricated.

It was constructed purely for the sake of creating a Miracle, with no story foundation of its own—it was simply a battle between two factions.

Just like the rituals and stories before, different combinations yielded different effects.

Of course, in the Wizarding World, some believed this was all nonsense—that the combinations were irrelevant as long as one could advance.

However, such talk was generally considered the excuse of the incapable, because they didn’t truly believe it was unimportant, but rather lacked the ability to achieve it.

Yes, they lacked the ability.

Isaac had been surprised when he first learned of this. After all, whether a Wizard or a Knight, anyone who reached the threshold of Tier Four was bound to be an extraordinary figure. Those without a solid foundation could never make it this far.

Simply put, he thought that if someone had barely scraped by at each of the first three tiers, they would inevitably fall short at the threshold of Tier Four. That tiny difference would be what made breaking through impossible!

That was what Isaac had originally thought.

But now that he had truly reached the threshold of Tier Four, his authority within the Flesh Sect had increased, allowing him to access more Knowledge about Tier Four. Only then did he truly understand what a grand era for Wizards this was!

With the development of the Path of Wizardry, advancing was no longer as arduous as it once was for modern Wizards. At least, up until Tier Five, there were shortcuts available!

Take advancing to Tier Four, for instance. Setting Arcanists aside—they have their own set of rules for advancement—even for a Legendary Mage, there were numerous shortcuts. Some required only one Miracle, some didn’t require one’s own Miracles, and some didn’t require any Miracles at all...

In short, the methods were many and varied.

However, one thing was consistent: a Wizard who took a shortcut would, in the initial stage of their advancement, not only have less combat power than their peers but might not even be able to defeat some of the more exceptional Tier Three Mages.

Of course, although their combat power was slightly lower, they still had the basic attributes of a Tier Four Mage after advancing. As long as they holed themselves up to study for a while, their combat power could quickly catch up to their peers.

Besides, anyone who could become a Wizard was hardly a fool. Even those who took shortcuts would obediently find a place to hide away and build up their strength before re-emerging.

Therefore, while these weaker Tier Four Mages existed, actual records of a Tier Three defeating a Tier Four were rare—at least, Isaac hadn’t found any.

But this had little to do with Isaac. After all, he had no intention of taking a shortcut, nor did he need to.

His focus remained on the royal road to advancement for a Miracle Mage—the choice of the three Miracles.

The first Miracle was to choose one of the stories he had written, inscribe its entire narrative into the World Law, and thus cause a corresponding ritual to appear in the world from time to time.

For example, if Isaac chose ”Cinderella,” a ritual named ”Cinderella” would appear in the world. As long as the character relationships roughly matched the key Elements—like a [Cinderella], a [Prince], a [Stepmother], and a [Step-Sister]—the ritual would manifest. Those chosen by the ritual would need to complete certain events.

By either advancing the plot or changing it to complete the ritual, they could obtain a reward.

The reward could be Magic Items from the story, the Magic from the story, or even a Wish Technique from an elf.

This type of Miracle would greatly strengthen Isaac’s connection to the world, enhancing his Anchor Points. Furthermore, scattered records within the Sect vaguely hinted that creating such Miracles could even reduce the difficulty of advancing to Great Wizard!

Therefore, for Isaac, this was a mandatory choice. The difference was, he wasn’t choosing ”Cinderella,” but ”The Ugly Duckling”!

Although ”The Ugly Duckling” offered Isaac far less power than ”Cinderella”—providing only a single High-level Curse—to Isaac himself, the two stories held the same status.

That being the case, Isaac had to consider their suitability—specifically, which one would be more popular.

Because the more these created Miracles helped the world, the more feedback Isaac would receive. Naturally, the fewer difficulties he might face when advancing to Great Wizard in the future.

And from that perspective, ”The Ugly Duckling” absolutely crushed ”Cinderella”!

Compared to the ”Cinderella” ritual, which required complex interpersonal relationships to trigger, the story of ”The Ugly Duckling” was much more concise. And unlike the rich variety of rewards from ”Cinderella,” the reward from ”The Ugly Duckling” was simple and crude—a direct boost to one’s bloodline or potential!

This sort of thing wasn’t very useful to current Wizards, but for Knights, and even Adventurers, it was incredibly practical...

And as it happened, compared to the lofty and powerful Wizards, these were the most numerous beings in the human world!

The ritual even covered more than just humans—Demons could also enjoy this benefit!

And Demons were also a part of this world!

Of course, besides all that, Isaac had his own selfish reasons. Although he hadn’t started yet, the brand-new Path of Wizardry using the heart and bloodline as a Magic Power Source was a field Isaac would venture into sooner or later. This ritual might bring him some unexpected surprises in that regard in the future.

However, the ideal was plump, but reality was bony. He was still completely clueless about how to construct a Miracle. This sort of thing wasn’t recorded in the Sect’s materials—or rather, it couldn’t be recorded. Its content couldn’t even be described verbally...

Isaac could only study it slowly on his own...

Fortunately, the Isaac of today was in no hurry. He had moved too quickly before; slowing down a bit now...

...wasn’t a bad thing at all~

But that slowness only applied to this aspect. In other areas, like his combat power...

Isaac had no intention of slowing down!

And this was the third thing he was currently working on—enslaving an Outer God!
