My Youth Began With Him

“President Huo… I’m sorry, this lady was too agitated and I couldn’t stop her…” the female assistant apologized, again and again.

“It’s fine, you can go now.” Huo Siqian waved his hand, gesturing for her to leave.

“Huo Siqian…”

“Hey, if it isn’t my little sister, Mian. To what do I owe the pleasure? Come, sit down.”

“Stop talking bullshit, were you behind the forced demolition and relocation?”

“Little Sis, calm down. Come, let me tell you everything, but sit down first, okay?” Huo Siqian was abnormally patient towards Huo Mian.

Huo Mian looked at him with an icy expression and then sat down unwillingly…

“Do you want coffee or tea?”

“I’m not here to drink tea with you…”

“Not just anyone can come here and drink tea with me you know?” Huo Siqian laughed.

“Stop beating around the bushes, are you purposely targeting my family?”

Huo Siqian didn’t respond. Instead, he turned around to pour Huo Mian a cup of coffee. His stirred the coffee with a tiny spoon.

“Adding sugar and milk to coffee makes the texture better. Here, try it out, how are my blending skills?”

Then, Huo Siqian passed the cup of coffee to Huo Mian.

“Huo…”

“Shhh… don’t say anything, let me take a look at you. Hey, have you been too stressed out at work, or working too many night shifts? You have dark circles under your eyes.” / update by box novel.com

Huo Main unconsciously touched her eye bags…

“You’re only 24 years old, don’t work yourself to death like a senior surgeon. The hospital will never award you for your hard work, your health is the most important thing. On your way out, remind me to ask my assistant to get you some of the company’s newest eye masks.”

“Huo Siqian, can you stop changing the subject? I’m asking you about the forced demolition and relocation.”

Huo Mian couldn’t take it any longer…

She was always calm and collected, but for some reason, every time she saw Huo Siqian, his face would piss her off, and she would become a dangerous dynamite…

“Oh right, that, I knew about it… but it wasn’t my decision.”

“Stop pulling my leg, you’re the boss of Huo Corporation, you call all the shots. If it wasn’t you, who else would be the mastermind behind all this?”

“You forgot about our father, Little Sis…”

“Huo Zhenghai?” Huo Mian frowned.

“To tell you the truth, our dad was the one behind this decision. I don’t know why he did it, but I’m guessing that he’s trying to protect his son and daughter. Therefore, they’re forcibly demolishing your mother’s house to get to you compromise and cooperate with them.”

“He’s… so ruthless.”

“He’s always been like that.” Huo Siqian smiled.

“You’re not lying, right?”

“You can do some research on your own. Plus, what good will you guys moving away do to me? I’m not interested in poor people areas. If you think the price for relocation is too low, I can compensate you guys under the table. I’m willing to pay you 150,000 yuan per square meter. But, if our dad found out that I helped you guys, he might rip off my face. But, I’m not afraid of that, as long as I can help you, Little Sis.”

Then, Huo Siqian looked at Huo Mian’s pretty face and smiled… His smile was gentler than usual.

“President Huo, the meeting’s starting soon…”

“Postpone it.”

“But, President Huo…” The female assistant seemed to be in a hurry.

“Get the hell out.”

After being cursed at by Huo Siqian, the female assistant immediately closed his office door, not daring to intrude…

“You don’t have to get involved. If it really was Huo Zhenghai behind this, then I know what to do.”

“Are you declaring war against our dad?”

“He’s not my dad… and you’re not my brother.” Then, Huo Mian got up and left.

Huo Siqian whistled as he watched Huo Mian walk away. “I don’t want to be your brother either.”

After she left his office, the female assistant stopped her…

“Miss Huo, these are the eye masks that President Huo told me to give you…”

Huo Mian, “…”

Huo Mian thought, Is there someone in this world that is creepier than Huo Siqian? Nope.

On her way back to the hospital, Huo Mian’s brain was filled with thoughts when she suddenly saw a banner hung outside a hotel.

“Press conference for…”

Huo Mian immediately stepped on her brakes. After parking, she strode into the hotel, cleverly avoiding the staff and security.

Zhao Qingya was reapplying makeup in the VIP lounge when Huo Mian pushed open the door and walked up to her. She pulled Zhao Qingya up and slapped her on the face. Dumbfounded, Zhao Qingya fell onto the couch…
