My Youth Began With Him

”Oh why, I am here to visit you, of course!”

”You’re here to visit me? What a joke! Are you here to see how poorly I’ve been living? Well, all thanks to you, I’ve been living the dream. I never have to worry about my children being suppressed by anyone. They never have to live in fear of someone taking things away and leaving them with nothing. My daughter is working and supporting herself, and my son is now in university. The three of us are as happy as a button, so, Celebrity Shen, why don’t you go back to where you came from? There’s no room here for you.”

”Hey, watch your tone when you speak to my mother, you old hag!”

Yang Meirong barely glanced at Huo Yanyan, ”Of course you are Huo Zhenghai’s daughter. Not only do you look like him, but your personality is also like him as well, self-entitled and annoying. Who would want to marry you?”

”Are you saying I’m unmarriable? You stupid old hag!”

”Yanyan, don’t be rude,” Shen Jiani immediately interjected.

”Sis, I’m not here to fight this time. I’m here to make a deal with you.”

”A deal?” Yang Meirong curiously observed the mother and daughter.

”Yes, a deal...”

”What’s the deal?”

”Convince Huo Mian to come back to the Huo Corporation to assist us. I promise to give you a fully furnished, one-hundred square meter apartment on 3rd Ring Road. Just look at the place you’re living in right now. Not only is it far from downtown, but its environment is also terrible as well. Hot in the summer and cold in the winter, how can anyone live here? Oh, and your son, isn’t he eighteen or nineteen now? He will eventually marry a girl, and you can’t possibly give this old piece of crap house to your future daughter-in law, can you? I doubt any girl would have much interest in this place. Remember, those who adjust their actions to match the times are wise.”

”Well, aren’t you generous. A fully furnished, one-hundred square meter real estate within the 3rd Ring Road district.” Yang Meirong chuckled.

”That’s right. With today’s market, a hundred square meters is worth 2 million yuan. Not a bad deal, right? Not to mention, as soon as Huo Mian enters the Huo Corporation, she will be exposed to even more benefits. Wasn’t your biggest wish to see Huo Zhenghai admit Huo Mian is his daughter?”

”Humph, the past is the past, and I don’t have that thought anymore. Forget what Huo Mian wants, I wouldn’t help you even if Huo Zhenghai begged me himself. A woman like you would never enter a bad deal on your own. The fact that you’re offering me anything means Jiang Hong had forced you and your children into a dead end. Haha!”

”You...” Shen Jiani would never think Yang Meirong had already figured everything out.

”I might be old, but don’t take me as a fool. I’m well aware of the situation. That undying jerk, Huo Zhenghai, had tried to play the victim card to get us to help him. Fortunately, my daughter was able to see through the sh*tty act. I can’t imagine what it would be like if you guys had your way. Y’all are a family of animals, there is no real family between you guys whatsoever. Don’t you, for a second, think I’m easy to mess with just because I am a widow. I’m not interested in your rotten money! So, get the hell out of my house, you b*tch!”

Yang Meirong’s chest heaved up and down as she got more and more worked up. Before she had the time to process her emotions, she picked up a bucket of laundry water, and with a forward swinging motion, soaked Shen Jiani and Huo Yanyan.

”Holy sh*t! What the hell do you think you’re doing, you crazy woman!”

”Get the hell out of here before I call the cops on you guys for trespassing!”

”I’m going to beat the shit out of you!” screamed Huo Yanyan as she walked up to Yang Meirong.

”Yanyan! We need to go, there’s no point in wasting any more time.” It was clear that she wasn’t getting what she came for. It was difficult, but unlike Huo Yanyan, Shen Jiani kept her cool. Drops of water fell to the ground from her blouse; she had already been embarrassed enough. Unwillingly, she dragged Huo Yanyan out the door.

Shen Jiani was feeling rather good about herself prior to executing her plans. However, both of her plans turned out otherwise. Oh, how cruel reality can sometimes be to those who thought themselves as clever. As she walked out of the courtyard, the last piece of strength that was holding her together finally snapped. She pulled out her phone and dialed Huo Zhenghai’s number. The moment the voice on the other side answered, she bawled as the details of the incident poured out like the tears streaming down her face.

On the other end of the phone, Huo Zhenghai’s heart ached for his mistress. He comforted her for a while and made an executive decision – he was going to grace those suckers with his very own presence.

”President Su, the Huo Corporation’s Chairman is waiting outside.”

”Huo Zhenghai?” Su Yu said as he leaned on his office chair. Music was blasting through his earphones, and he was bored out of his brains. He was a bit surprised by Huo Zhenghai’s sudden visit since he didn’t think they’ve ever had any business contact.

”Tell him to come in.” Su Yu sat up slightly, pulled down his earphones, and waved his hand.
