You Were Told to Design Software, But You Created Tiktok?!

335: Section 335Manager Ma continued.

”Then what do you think, how high will the retention rate and daily active players be for the number of registered users that League of Legends generated with money in the first ten days?”

Facing Manager Ma’s question, Ma Liuyun pondered for a moment.

”Currently, Dota has five million global daily active users, and Yan Country’s Dota daily active players are around two million.”

”Now, League of Legends, whether in terms of reputation or influence, far exceeds Dota. No matter how we look at this game, no matter how much we think it’s not good enough, the players’ reputation will not lie.”

”Many players who have played both League of Legends and Dota mostly feel that League of Legends has greater fun and gameplay than Dota.”

”Therefore,”

Ma Liuyun paused.

”I believe,”

”The number of League of Legends players in Yan Country will at least surpass Dota!”

Upon hearing this, everyone present showed surprised expressions. They had not expected Ma Liuyun to give such an exaggerated assessment from the start.

Many people present still held out hope that League of Legends would not be able to beat Dota.

But Ma Liuyun clearly saw much further than them.

”Are you sure?” Manager Ma asked after swallowing.

Ma Liuyun nodded.

”Moreover, I think that during these ten days of open beta, the number of League of Legends players in Yan Country has already surpassed the number of Dota players in Yan Country.”

As soon as this statement was made, everyone present was surprised again.

And Ma Liuyun’s voice continued to ring out.

”For these ten days, I have carefully investigated the discussion heat and reputation of League of Legends on various gaming platforms and the internet. In general,”

”At least in Yan Country,”

”Dota is no longer a match for League of Legends.”

Chapter 260: Initial Retention Guesses, Penguin Group’s Internal Bet!

After Ma Liuyun finished speaking, everyone else fell silent.

Regarding Ma Liuyun’s prediction, the others were somewhat unwilling to believe it.

Although for Penguin Group now, the revenue brought by many mobile games basically far exceeds that of the PC games they are still operating, the influence of a large PC game is not comparable to that of a reskinned pay-to-win mobile game.

As long as they continue to operate Dota, the world’s most popular game, their influence as Penguin Group would not be too low.

But now, League of Legends had only been in open beta for ten days, and Ma Liuyun had already directly given such a conclusion, which was indeed difficult for them to accept.

”Manager Ma, aren’t you overstating the influence of League of Legends a bit?”

”You just said that the three million registered players of League of Legends were all bought by Junzi Group. Not many of these registered users will ultimately remain.”

”Why did you give League of Legends such a high evaluation?”

”Do you think that among these three million registered players, at least two million can remain in League of Legends and become daily active users? But you should know that the PC game MOBA market in Yan Country is not that big, only two to three million. How could League of Legends reach its limit so early?”

Zheng Haidi, who was standing by, couldn’t help but retort after hearing Ma Liuyun speak.

In his opinion, it was still uncertain who would win between League of Legends and Dota.

”I think that after the promotion and marketing of League of Legends ends, it would be good if one million out of three million registered players become loyal players.”

”Most players who registered for the game because of the Red Envelope will basically be lost.”

”The player base for PC games is generally very fixed. Players who play shooting games won’t play MOBA games, and players who play casual games won’t play other types of games.”

”League of Legends doesn’t have such exaggerated ability to attract other types of player groups.”

”I don’t believe there’s such a large potential PC game MOBA market.”

Facing Zheng Haidi’s questioning, Ma Liuyun was silent for a moment.

”I still stick to my prediction.”

”After the event ends, League of Legends will have at least three million daily active players, and it will definitely surpass Dota.”

Zheng Haidi shook his head.

”Impossible. The PC game MOBA market in Yan Country won’t be that big. Three million daily active users in ten days? Could it be that League of Legends’ final daily active users could reach ten million? How is that possible?”

Because all internet game practitioners know that the number of PC game players definitely has a growth curve and will not be exhausted at once. So, if a certain PC game has three million daily active users in ten days of open beta, then the peak daily active user count for this PC game will at least triple.

As long as there are no long-term operational issues, the number of MOBA game users will continue to grow for a long time.

It was precisely because he knew this data that Zheng Haidi firmly said it was impossible.

Currently, the world’s most popular PC game, Dota, only has five million global daily active users.

And if the data Ma Liuyun said was true, then League of Legends would eventually have ten million daily active users in Yan Country, and how could that be possible?

Ma Liuyun also murmured.

”I also know this number is a bit too exaggerated.”

”I also think it’s impossible.”

”If it were other companies, even if I predicted this data, I wouldn’t believe it. But the key is, this is Junzi Group, this is Wang Mo.”

”So, League of Legends’ initial daily active users will be at least three million!”

Upon hearing this, Zheng Haidi chuckled.

”Care to make a bet?”

”If League of Legends’ initial daily active users are below two million, you give me two million. Conversely, if it’s higher, I’ll give you two million, and for every additional million users, I’ll add five million!”

”The profit you stand to gain from this bet is much greater than what I would gain if I won. You wouldn’t refuse, would you?”

Zheng Haidi was very confident in his own judgment.

That’s why he offered such an unequal bet, because he felt he couldn’t lose.

Seeing this, Ma Liuyun couldn’t help but shake his head and say,

”Since you want to bet, I’ll bet with you.”

”I just hope you don’t regret it then.”

Watching their conversation, Manager Ma didn’t know what to say.

Although he was well aware that Ma Liuyun’s ability was indeed superior to Zheng Haidi’s, and his judgment of various situations was very accurate, the data of three million daily active users was indeed too exaggerated.

Not to mention League of Legends had only been in open beta for ten days.

Even if League of Legends could defeat Dota, it wouldn’t be this fast, would it?

”No matter how League of Legends’ initial performance turns out, we should know the answer in a few days.”

At this moment, Li Wenqiu also spoke.

”Generally, after such large-scale promotional events end, the number of users of the software will gradually decline in a short period. When it drops to a certain level and then stabilizes, showing a rebound trend, that point in time is the stable node for users after the event ends.”

”This won’t take too long.”

At this time, besides Penguin Group, many other internet game companies and countless game players also wanted to know how many users League of Legends would retain after its massive promotion.

After all, this number would determine the title of Yan Country’s number one PC game.

At the same same time, on the second day after the League of Legends open beta event ended, inside Junzi Group.
