You Were Told to Design Software, But You Created Tiktok?!

191: Section 191Wang Mo simply smiled.

”Vouchers aren’t an either/or thing.”

”Most users make various offline purchases every day.”

”They will indeed choose Blue Wallet for their initial purchases, but once Blue Wallet’s vouchers are used up, isn’t only WeChat left?”

”Since buying things with Blue Wallet can be cheaper, and with WeChat it can also be cheaper, why wouldn’t I use both? I can use one today and the other tomorrow, right?”

Hearing Wang Mo’s words, Zhang Fan slapped his head, realizing that he had indeed overreacted just now.

And Wang Mo’s voice continued to ring out.

”Ali Group also understands that their actions can’t stop users from binding cards and spending on WeChat, but they can slow down that speed.”

”At the same time, Blue Wallet’s vouchers can deepen users’ habit of scanning to pay with Blue Wallet.”

”In the competition between the two payment software, whoever can master users’ payment habits will be the one to stand last.”

”And our primary goal right now is still to first roll out offline merchant WeChat QR codes.”

”Everything else, its importance has to take a backseat.”

After Wang Mo finished speaking, Zhang Fan nodded, half-understanding.

”However.”

”Although we’ve already reached agreements with some large chain supermarkets, allowing them to use WeChat for payments and QR code collections in their stores.”

”But.”

”For some small shops and private merchants, will Blue Wallet force them to choose one or the other?”

Zhang Fan had just finished speaking.

Zhao Ming’s voice from the side already rang out.

”That’s what I hadn’t finished saying just now.”

”Our offline promotion team has already encountered this situation.”

”Many private merchants and small shops have already received messages from Blue Wallet, telling them they can only choose one, and if these merchants are found to be using WeChat’s merchant QR codes, then Blue Wallet will revoke their merchant codes.”

WeChat and Blue Wallet’s vouchers can only be used with merchant QR codes; transfers between individual user QR codes are not included in this category.

And listening to Zhao Ming’s words.

Zhang Fan instantly became angry.

”This is a monopoly! This tactic of forcing merchants to choose one or the other is a very obvious monopolistic behavior, and we can sue them!”

After Zhang Fan finished speaking.

Zhao Ming also said,

”But Blue Wallet’s methods are very covert; those contacting the merchants are not official Blue Wallet personnel.”

”This way, even if we want to sue Blue Wallet for monopoly, it will take a long time to gather evidence, and these internet monopoly cases also have very long overall trial times.”

”Even if we can win against Blue Wallet, it will take at least five years.”

Upon hearing this.

Zhang Fan couldn’t help but murmur,

”So, that means we currently have no way to deal with Blue Wallet’s actions?”

”Although large supermarkets have our WeChat payment system, for the offline QR code payment sector, most private merchants are the main force.”

After Zhang Fan finished speaking, Wang Mo smiled and patted his shoulder.

”Actually, there’s no need to worry too much.”

”Although Blue Wallet’s actions will significantly slow down our speed in deploying merchant QR codes, it won’t completely cut us off; sooner or later, our merchant QR codes will also be rolled out.”

”Because of the existence of vouchers.”

”WeChat users will force these private merchants to secretly use WeChat’s QR codes.”

”We.”

Wang Mo took a deep breath.

”Now we just need a little time.”

Chapter 127: WeChat Wallet’s Crazy Offline Promotion, Next Step Plan.

After Wang Mo finished speaking, Zhang Fan couldn’t help but ask,

”Are you sure there’s nothing to worry about?”

Wang Mo nodded.

”As long as Blue Wallet doesn’t dare to openly force merchants to choose one or the other, there will definitely be a ~ place for WeChat QR codes.”

”And if Blue Wallet really monopolizes openly, then we have even less to worry about; the law will naturally sanction it.”

Having said that.

Wang Mo looked at Zhao Ming beside him.

”For the offline promotion, you arranged it as I instructed, right?”

Zhao Ming nodded.

”I followed your instructions and told all the promotion teams not to force private merchants to use our QR codes, but to leave their contact information so that when merchants contact them, they can send out the merchant QR codes immediately.”

Listening to Zhao Ming’s words, Wang Mo also nodded and said,

”That’s good then.”

”For the next period of time.”

”We just need to wait.”

On the day WeChat’s update was launched.

In various cities across Yan Country, large teams of WeChat’s offline promoters could already be seen.

WeChat did not, like Blue Wallet initially, have merchants apply for QR codes themselves and then issue them; instead, they directly approached merchants, asking them to use WeChat’s merchant QR codes.

Of course.

Due to Blue Wallet’s covert obstruction, WeChat’s promotion teams encountered many setbacks.

However, this large-scale promotional activity could still produce quite exaggerated effects.

Supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, noodle shops, and even street taxis—WeChat’s promotion teams would contact them all.

Many private merchants also didn’t take Blue Wallet’s warnings seriously and directly placed WeChat’s QR codes at their storefronts.

It’s just that.

Because the number of people using WeChat Pay was not very large at the moment, coupled with many merchants still being wary of Blue Wallet, only a minority of merchants agreed to use WeChat QR codes in the first round of promotion.

But as time continued to pass.

This number would continuously increase.

At the same time.

Due to WeChat’s activity of binding cards to receive vouchers, WeChat’s payment users surpassed ten million within a few days.

Although this number was still far behind Blue Wallet, it was already quite an exaggerated extent.

As Wang Mo said.

Blue Wallet’s vouchers only slowed down the growth rate of WeChat Pay users and did not completely cut it off.

Therefore.

After half a month had passed.

When Zhifubao’s vouchers were exhausted, many users set their sights on WeChat’s vouchers.

This time.

It even attracted many non-WeChat users to download WeChat, just for the vouchers within it.

After all, there were few people who could refuse vouchers that made a hundred-yuan purchase dozens of yuan cheaper.

Moreover, the conditions for using these vouchers were very simple; they could be used at any large supermarket or large private shop.

It was equivalent to getting dozens of yuan for free.

Although many users only came for the vouchers and still used Blue Wallet for most of their daily consumption, they did not unbind their bank cards from WeChat after using up the vouchers, but rather kept them bound, as they did not know if WeChat would launch more promotional activities later.

And their action.

It was also the key to Wang Mo’s next step in attracting a large number of WeChat users and online payment users.
