You Were Told to Design Software, But You Created Tiktok?!

151: Section 151Chapter 99: The Means to Defeat QQ, Preparing to Launch WeChat!

One month after the Dota Mobile launched this update.

Penguin Group publicly released the Dota Mobile’s performance for the past month.

Starting from the sudden drop to 20 million daily active users after the update’s initial launch.

During this month, the Dota Mobile did not continue to see its daily active users decline as most people expected; instead, it stopped the loss of users.

And this time.

These retained users were not because the Dota Mobile launched any events, nor because of some of Pony Ma’s statements.

Instead, it was truly.

Because the game itself retained them.

Strictly speaking.

They were likely retained within the Dota Mobile by the social system launched within the game.

Not only that.

After the initial few days of user fluctuation following the update, the Dota Mobile’s daily active users continuously increased for most of the rest of the month.

Now.

The number of daily active users for Dota Mobile has reached 24 million.

Although the growth rate is not fast, the key is that at this point in time, the Dota Mobile’s users should be continuously losing, not being retained, let alone having daily active users increase.

Two games with almost no differentiation have no possibility of coexisting.

This is the experience Yan Country’s internet has brought to everyone over so many years.

But the social attribute system launched by the Dota Mobile completely changed all of this.

And just as Pony Ma said.

Only the Penguin Group can truly and completely integrate this system into a game at present.

Because he is the only one in Yan Country who has a large chat software.

Therefore.

After the Dota Mobile’s performance for this month was made public.

Many internet magnates truly began to take seriously the importance of the social system launched by the Dota Mobile a month ago.

Upon deeper investigation, they discovered.

The potential of this system indeed far exceeded everyone’s expectations.

Although no one discovered the importance of the social system in the short term, a month later, no one could ignore the achievements this system brought to the Dota Mobile.

And on the very day the Dota Mobile’s data was released, Chairman Ding also directly admitted that he lost the bet and was willing to pay Pony Ma 100 million.

Although he was very reluctant to admit it.

But this time, he indeed underestimated this so-called social system.

And Pony Ma also directly asked Chairman Ding to run a 100 million advertisement for the Dota Mobile on his software.

On the same day.

It also, as expected, became a trending topic.

Originally, a month ago, when the Dota Mobile was just launched, many players did not realize the importance of this system, so there was a lot of criticism at the time.

But after a month.

Users who remained in the Dota Mobile have basically enjoyed the convenience of this social system.

And they were frantically promoting the Dota Mobile under this trending topic.

“Is it true or false? The Dota Mobile didn’t have any events this month, and its user count really didn’t decrease?”

“Didn’t you see that Chairman Ding admitted he lost? Pony Ma still has something going for him.”

“I admit I was shallow a month ago. This system is truly amazing. I’m even treating it as my second QQ.”

“The Nearby feature is truly powerful. I met a girl Nearby through it, and now we’re together.”

“Who would have thought, who would have thought, the Dota Mobile actually survived.”

“Who came up with the idea of integrating a social system into a mobile game? This is too genius.”

The current Dota Mobile.

Has almost become a social game.

Systems like ’intimacy’ that had never appeared before quickly became popular among the Dota Mobile’s user base.

Various intimate relationships began to be continuously linked: brothers, couples, master-apprentice, etc. These relationships not only strengthened the connection between Dota Mobile users but also enhanced user stickiness to the game.

The current Dota Mobile friend interface is almost no different from QQ.

Not only can one directly see friends’ intimate relationships with others, but one can also increase the relationship level between two people through various behaviors.

At the same time.

In order to gain more experience and rewards.

Many friends in the Dota Mobile also began to transform into QQ friends.

This is an enhancement from a weak relationship to a strong relationship.

The set of social attribute systems designed for the Dota Mobile has a complete chain of relationship enhancement.

From strangers matched in the game at the beginning, to game friends later, then to intimate relationships like master-appapprentice or brothers, and finally to added QQ friends.

This entire complete social system even gave many people a brand new way of socializing!

Although the Dota Mobile has not yet launched hero regional rankings, it has added the Nearby system.

And this new social method can quickly allow players within it to go from frequently playing solo at first to playing with familiar friends later.

It can even gradually transform into offline friendships.

In this way.

When players play with friends, the win-loss attribute will decrease, and the fun of the game will increase.

After all, playing with a group of friends is indeed much better than playing alone.

Even.

Although this system has only been launched for a short month.

But some people have already made some offline friends through this social method in the Dota Mobile, and some genuine romantic relationships have even emerged as a result.

And these players’ stickiness to the game has also greatly increased after this system was launched.

After all, every day on QQ, they receive many messages from ’brothers’ and ’masters/apprentices’ asking them to log on; this kind of connection is something other games do not yet have.

This system also indeed matched the Penguin Group’s internal estimates.

In a very short time after its launch.

It bound the Dota Mobile’s user base with QQ.

When these users find it difficult to abandon this game due to QQ’s social attributes, they will naturally also invite friends around them who are not playing this game to join.

Although currently.

The increase in the Dota Mobile’s user count is still quite slow, with almost no possibility of catching up to Honor of Kings.

But just as Pony Ma said.

Now, no matter what events Honor of Kings launches, it cannot shake the Dota Mobile.

The Dota Mobile has truly and completely established itself.

And while Honor of Kings can copy systems like intimacy and Nearby from the Dota Mobile, these are only weak relationships; without QQ’s assistance, these relationships will not transform into strong relationships, and it will be difficult for them to transfer offline.

Only with the support of chat software.

Can the social attributes in mobile games be truly complete.

Now.

From the Penguin Group’s internal perspective, the Dota Mobile’s only opponent left is itself.

At this time.

One month after the Dota Mobile’s update.

Within the Penguin Group.

Inside an office in the mobile game department.
