Global Lords: I Have Information System

The protagonist returns home, and his mother’s experiences linger like a nightmare that cannot be shaken off. The only solace for his soul is to silently do some things, to erect a monument for his mother, and to quietly do whatever he can think of. This is an act of penance born from a long-standing sense of indebtedness to his mother.

For his own brothers, regardless of what happened before, the first thing he thought of on his deathbed was reconciliation. Reconcile with his brothers, excuse his past, bid farewell to his future. And meet his enemies. The scene of red-eyed confrontation did not occur; he even stopped all the people trying to help. The intense scenes were replaced by calmness. Everything has passed, and mentioning these grievances again holds no meaning for a dying man.

The second core point is the connection between people. The protagonist’s wife divorced him, his brother is at odds with him, friends are still friends but have their own lives. Even to his enemies, the protagonist does not want to view everything with a vengeful eye. Life continues, everyone moves on, but many who once intersected with him have lost contact at this moment. No one is willing to talk about the past again, nor is anyone willing to completely move on from anything. Thus, everything becomes very twisted; the protagonist tries to find something among it all, only to find himself at a loss.

The origins of Thousand Island Lake and the changes of the times subtly appear in this film, yet such subtleties never become the driving force propelling the film forward. Most of the time, these elements have little interaction with the film. This is the issue. Many times we have expectations; for a film, especially an art film, expectations are for the creators to express something. The expressions in this film are split into several aspects; however, these aspects are all singular and independent entities. How these independent entities can be well connected through the tragic protagonist is crucial to testing the creators’ original intent. If this cannot be handled well, then no matter how excellent the film is, at most it will become a collection of independent clips, yet films need continuity.

How many cores do domestic art films have besides self-expression?

Domestic art film directors are very accustomed to self-expression, yet always neglect the continuity of the story. Even a profound and obscure art film should have a theme to connect; otherwise, even the best clips will only remain as clips, a face with delicate features but missing a thread—that’s awkward.

”No Sugar” really without sugar?

It was found that all beverages claiming to be ”sugar-free” were found to contain sugar, even higher than some samples with normal sweetness levels.

According to a test result from the Shanghai Consumer Rights Protection Committee, among 27 samples of milk tea with normal sweetness, the sugar content was 11-62 grams per cup, with an average sugar content of 34 grams per cup. The highest sugar content in a milk tea was equivalent to 14 sugar cubes.

In the so-called ”less sugar,” ”low sugar,” ”sugar-free,” or ”no sugar” milk tea, all 20 samples had sugar detected, with an average sugar content of 2.4g/100ml, the lowest being 1.2g/100ml.

The ”Healthy China Initiative (2019-2030)” recommends that the average daily intake of added sugar should not exceed 25 grams per person. Other countries have similar recommendations:

The American Heart Association suggests that men consume no more than 150 calories (about 9 teaspoons or 36 grams) of added sugar per day. For women, the number is lower: 6 teaspoons (25 grams or 100 calories) per day.

Excessive sugar intake is very damaging to the body. In a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association Internal Medicine in 2014, there is a link between high-sugar diets and a high risk of heart disease.
