Celestial Night Emperor

Chapter 194: Chapter 194: A Violent Storm, One Link After Another

In front of the Linghai National Medicine Mansion headquarters, a man with broken legs was wailing and screaming, ”Quick, call an ambulance! I’m a major shareholder in your company!”

Minister Liu had really been thrown in front of the Linghai National Medicine Mansion.

He was scared witless, begging only to be spared. His mind was also on the investment he had made in Linghai National Medicine.

Minister Liu had lost everything; this money was all he had left.

Meanwhile, several of Linghai’s senior executives received the news. They rushed out, horrified, and recognized him at once.

”Is that Minister Liu from the White Tiger Silver Alliance?”

”He... how did he get beaten so badly?”

A few of the executives started forward to help him up.

”Stop!” Linghai National Medicine’s CEO appeared, his face grim. ”I just received word. All of the White Tiger Silver Alliance’s senior executives have been fired. This Liu’s crimes have been exposed, and the Police Department is investigating him! We can’t take him in!”

The executives exchanged glances.

”But Minister Liu has helped us so much! Besides, he’s a company shareholder. He invested a fortune!”

The CEO’s expression turned even uglier. ”These are Young Master Luo’s orders! Do you think I want to do this?”

Who would dare defy a direct order from Luo Tianying?

And so, the executives called security, who picked up Minister Liu and unceremoniously tossed him onto the roadside.

Minister Liu screamed and cursed in a rage.

Just then, hundreds of media personnel appeared out of nowhere, swarming the scene.

Independent bloggers, mainstream media, business magazines, television stations...

Everyone who could be there, was.

Their numbers quickly swelled to over a thousand.

They filmed videos and live-streamed from the scene.

”The former head of the White Tiger Silver Alliance, a man named Liu, has been beaten to a pulp and is now lying on the roadside playing dead!”

”Send a tip, folks, and I’ll give you the inside scoop!”

”Thanks for the rocket, my friend! Listen up, this Minister Liu used the Silver Alliance’s money to invest in Linghai National Medicine. But now, Linghai National Medicine is about to go bankrupt! In his shock, Minister Liu jumped off a building and ended up breaking his legs!”

They said it all with such conviction.

”Linghai National Medicine’s line of credit is cut! They’re about to go bankrupt! If you invested in this company, you’d better be careful! There might still be time to get your money out!”

All sorts of rumors spread like wildfire.

The rumors were a mix of truth and lies. For instance, the inside story about Linghai National Medicine’s impending bankruptcy was more than half true!

Instantly, Linghai’s stock went into a nosedive!

Small-time investors frantically flooded the building, demanding their money back!

They didn’t even care about dividends anymore; they just wanted to recoup their principal!

Linghai’s stock fell yet again.

It was already trading for pennies.

At that moment, in a lavish hotel lobby just across the street from Linghai National Medicine...

The Prince of the God of Wealth Hall and Venerable Yuan of the Intelligence Hall sat in comfortable chairs, watching the commotion across the street!

”Venerable Yuan, you’re incredible. You crippled Linghai with just a few hundred small-time media outlets!” the Prince praised.

Venerable Yuan had led the Intelligence Hall for many years and rarely showed his emotions, but he was always casual in front of the Prince. He swirled the wine in his glass. ”Now it’s your turn to act, God of Wealth. The Master’s intention is to beat Linghai down, but not out. The resources of this pharmaceutical group are still quite useful!”

The Prince smiled faintly, took out his phone, and tapped in a command. ”We started acquiring Linghai’s shares two hours ago. Their group’s stock has already hit rock bottom. We can finish the job with pocket change.”

Venerable Yuan took a sip of wine and laughed. ”The Master is truly brilliant! This chain of attacks against Luo Tianying is one blow after another!”

The Prince also took a sip of wine, his eyes turning cold. ”This is only the beginning.”

Indeed, the assault on Linghai Pharmaceutical had only just begun.

Late that night, Luo Tianying could no longer sit still. He gathered the senior executives of Linghai National Medicine and hastily called a press conference.

He appeared in his capacity as the eldest young master of the Luo Family, vowing with absolute certainty, ”Linghai will be fine, because the Luo Family is standing behind it!”

”We don’t lack for money! Our funding will not be cut!” Luo Tianying declared, shaking a clenched fist.

Amidst the flashing cameras, footsteps echoed.

The heads of the four major Silver Alliances appeared at once!

Luo Tianying was stunned. ’Why are these people here all of a sudden? Don’t tell me they’re here to...’

Before he could finish the thought, the heads of the four Silver Alliances presented their documents in unison. ”From this moment forward, we are severing all cooperation with Linghai. Furthermore, we are informing you, Young Master Luo, that all of your outstanding loans are now due in full!”

Over the years, the Silver Alliances had provided tens of billions in funding, most of which was loaned against the mortgaged assets of Linghai National Medicine!

With such a demand for immediate repayment, how could Linghai possibly pay?

The only available funds on the group’s books had already been taken by Luo Tianying to purchase that so-called ”Moonlight Celestial Cyan Grass”!

The scene instantly erupted into chaos.

One of Linghai National Medicine’s vice presidents fell to his knees before the Silver Alliance leaders on the spot, crying out, ”You can’t do this! You’re trying to destroy us! You’re trying to destroy Linghai!”

The leaders of the four Silver Alliances tossed the documents down, sneered, and departed.

Luo Tianying stood on the stage, stammering, unable to utter a single word.

He was starting to panic.

Then, the sound of footsteps was heard again from outside.

This time, it was senior officials from Jinling’s Security Bureau and the Pharmaceutical Administration.

”We have discovered significant problems with the ten new ’national medicine’ formulas prepared by Linghai National Medicine. First, these formulas are all fake; they have no medicinal effect whatsoever. Second, the ’Moonlight Celestial Cyan Grass’ they contain is not a recognized national medicinal ingredient. After our assessment, we have determined this to be a malicious case of forgery!”

These officials had come prepared. They laid out all sorts of appraisal documents and data for the on-site media to inspect directly.

”In conclusion, none of Linghai National Medicine’s formulas will be approved. Due to these actions, we will be imposing a tenfold fine!”

The fine, once issued, would be in the billions!

Upon seeing the penalty documents, four of Linghai National Medicine’s vice presidents fainted on the spot.

But it wasn’t over yet!

A third group arrived soon after.

They were from the Police Department!

They also produced documents bearing a blood-red seal. ”Linghai National Medicine, in collusion with Mr. Liu of the White Tiger Silver Alliance, illegally transferred Silver Alliance funds for private investment. The evidence is conclusive. We will now read a list of names. All individuals named are to cooperate with our investigation!”

Linghai National Medicine’s finance department was swept up in one fell swoop!

Half of the senior management from the investment department were also escorted away on the spot!

The press conference fell utterly silent, a deathly quiet!

Finally, a desperate cry rang out from somewhere in the crowd, ”Young Master Luo, we’re bankrupt! Linghai is really bankrupt! Our clients are going crazy, all the investors are at the door demanding their money, and... and Longyue Financial Group is launching a hostile takeover!”

With a THUD, Luo Tianying fainted as well.
