Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Chapter 2024: Chapter 2024: Give Him a Hundred Jin of Tea Eggs

Xiao Lang quickly calmed down and asked consultatively, ”Really no way to find their location?”

The arms dealer shook his head: ”To put it bluntly, they’re just ordinary people too. They live and work like regular folks. Plus, they hide very well and don’t appear easily. No one has ever been able to catch them. Their headquarters is hidden in the jungle, and no method has been successful in finding it, so we have to wait for them to show themselves.”

”And now with people in their hands, we’re even more at their mercy, making a rescue much harder. But they’re just in it for the money. If we can secure their release with money, it’s a good thing. We’re only afraid they’ll want both the money and to silence them.”

”...”

Xiao Lang pressed his lips together. Despite the difficulty of the rescue, he couldn’t remain passive.

He must figure out a way to rescue them quickly.

Xiao Lang bid farewell to the arms dealer and took a car back to the hotel.

********

The top floor of the hotel was entirely occupied by them, housing all their people, including those of Ruan Tianling.

After returning, everyone gathered in one room to discuss strategies.

One of Ruan Tianling’s subordinates asked him, ”Mr. Xiao, what’s the current situation?”

Xiao Lang said in a deep voice, ”We made contact with them. They demand a ransom of 2 billion before releasing the hostages.”

”2 billion! Damn it, why don’t they just rob a bank!” one subordinate cursed angrily.

”They can’t rob a bank. They’ve finally caught the Boss, such a big fat sheep, they probably laugh even in their sleep.” Another of Ruan Tianling’s subordinates said.

Another added, ”These days, flaunting wealth is asking for trouble. Even someone as wise as the Boss fell into the trap. Everyone should stay low-key; even if you have money, don’t show it off.”

Ruan Tianling’s subordinates were always blunt and said whatever came to mind.

Di Sheng, who had a strong sense of master and servant, couldn’t listen anymore and said coldly, ”You’re all off-topic! We’re not here to discuss Ruan Tianling’s flaunting. We’re here because they’ve asked for 2 billion. Are we really going to pay?”

”We definitely can’t pay!” Ruan Tianling’s subordinate retorted.

Di Sheng snorted coldly, ”And how do you plan on rescuing them without paying?”

”Brother, are you old-fashioned? Paying money is too tacky; just give them a few hundred kilos of rice cakes.”

”Rice cakes? Give them a hundred salted eggs, and they won’t need to count the change!”

Xiao Lang and Di Sheng: ”...”

They deeply doubted the reliability of Ruan Tianling’s subordinates.

”Don’t you have any constructive suggestions?” Di Sheng asked angrily.

At this critical juncture, how could they still joke around?

One subordinate said, ”We do have a constructive suggestion: after we ransom the people, rob the money back, leave them empty-handed!”

”It’s already good if they leave you with anything!” Di Sheng snorted coldly.

”What else can we do? Besides paying, what can we do?!”

Xiao Lang furrowed his brows in deep thought.

He said, ”That’s the only way; if they release them after getting the money, that’s the best outcome. But we’re afraid they’ll...”

”We’re afraid they’ll raise the price again, right?”

Xiao Lang nodded, ”They’ll definitely raise the price again. I will find a way to locate their headquarters.”

”Does Mr. Xiao already have a plan?” a subordinate asked.

Xiao Lang smiled faintly, ”Sort of. Next, we’ll wait for them to contact us proactively.”
