Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Capítulo 1977: Chapter 1977: Such Painful Contradictions

……

“Mingxi, be honest and have a good conversation with me. You can hit me if it makes you feel better, just don’t be upset because of someone like me,” Xiao Lang said in a deep voice.

He wasn’t worthy of her, and he didn’t deserve her sadness over him.

As long as she could be happy, he was willing to disappear forever, to never appear before her again…

Li Mingxi could no longer fake a smile.

She slightly clenched her fists and suddenly pushed his hand away forcefully.

“You ask what makes me happy, fine, I’ll tell you! I’m happy that I’ve finally forgotten you! I’m happy that I can find another man to fall in love with, marry him, have children, and live the life I want! You, get out of my life from now on, I can choose to let go, rest assured, I swear I’ll never think of you again… mmm…”

Li Mingxi’s words were suddenly interrupted, and she opened her eyes wide in shock, her mind buzzing with a blank.

Because Xiao Lang suddenly kissed her!

He caught the back of her head and pressed his lips firmly against hers.

Li Mingxi slowly closed her eyes, enduring his kiss.

That was the first time she had instinctively recoiled when being trespassed upon.

This subtle movement was what brought Xiao Lang quickly back to his senses.

His hand paused, and the kiss ended—

Xiao Lang slowly lifted his head, his eyes dark and deep.

Li Mingxi, panting for breath, her eyes still veiled in a hazy mist.

For a moment, neither knew what to say.

It seemed a bit awkward…

Li Mingxi’s hand was still hooked around his neck, Xiao Lang’s hand still lingering on her body.

But after stopping, they couldn’t continue any further.

After a long while, just as Xiao Lang was about to apologize, Li Mingxi asked him, “Why did you kiss me?”

“…” Xiao Lang didn’t know how to answer.

He didn’t know why he kissed her.

Anyway, after hearing her words, he felt a bit depressed, then his mind went blank, and he lost his reason.

Although he didn’t love her, she was very important to him.

So when he heard her say to get out of her life, he felt miserable…

When people spend a long time together, emotions develop, and those words would hurt anyone.

Moreover, at that moment, he had an absurd thought in his mind.

A thought that made him despise and loathe himself.

Li Mingxi said she forgot him, didn’t like him anymore. He thought, whether she likes him or not, can be verified.

Under multiple provocations, he kissed her.

And then it was verified that Li Mingxi still had feelings for him.

Knowing she still liked him, he felt a little happy, but he clearly couldn’t forget Jian Yufei, his heart told him he still liked Jian Yufei.

Yet he was happy because of Li Mingxi’s affection…

Xiao Lang suddenly felt so painfully conflicted.

He clearly couldn’t respond to her feelings, yet acted this way towards her, reluctant to let her leave him, what was wrong with him?!

Why did he have such a bastard thought!

Xiao Lang felt very guilty, he shouldn’t continue hurting her, truly shouldn’t.

If he couldn’t love her, then he shouldn’t casually accept her feelings.

Otherwise, it would only hurt her more deeply…

Today was really a mistake, fortunately they both stopped, if they had continued, it would have been truly irreparable.

Xiao Lang felt somewhat relieved, but he still couldn’t forgive himself.
