Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Capítulo 1967: Chapter 1967: I’m Sorry for Letting You Down

Without drinking, Li Mingxi just ate voraciously, clearly showing she had serious matters on her mind.

Jian Yufei tried to find a topic to divert her attention.

“Cousin, is there any progress with my condition?”

She hadn’t asked yet, but once she did, Li Mingxi’s emotions became even more off.

She put down her chopsticks, unable to swallow the sushi in her mouth.

“Water…” Li Mingxi was choked, uncomfortably pounding her chest.

Jian Yufei quickly poured her a glass of water.

Li Mingxi drank the water and then fell into a long silence.

“Cousin, what’s wrong?” Jian Yufei asked uneasily, “Is there something wrong with my condition… again?”

Li Mingxi shook her head, “No, it’s still the same.”

Indeed, her illness couldn’t be cured, what worse could it get?

But why was Li Mingxi reacting this way?

“Cousin, are you hiding something from me?” Jian Yufei tentatively asked.

Li Mingxi glanced at her, her gaze somewhat evasive with guilt.

She didn’t speak, nor did Jian Yufei press her.

She smiled, “Cousin, if you really have something on your mind and want someone to talk to, you can tell me. If you don’t want to say it, it’s okay.”

“Yufei, this time it is my fault to you, I don’t ask for your forgiveness, anyway, it is me who is wrong.” Li Mingxi said abruptly.

Jian Yufei was puzzled, “What exactly is it? Why do you say you’ve wronged me?”

“Don’t ask, okay?” Li Mingxi’s mood was somewhat uncomfortable.

Jian Yufei nodded, “Okay, I won’t ask.”

Her kindness made Li Mingxi feel even more guilty.

But she didn’t want to say it, this time, she was truly selfish.

“Yufei, turns out I’m also a selfish woman. Before, I despised such women the most, never thought I also have a detestable side.”

Jian Yufei completely couldn’t understand the meaning behind her words.

Li Mingxi held the wine glass, dejectedly said, “At this moment, I should be a little more selfless. But, I don’t want to see him get hurt…”

“Him? Are you talking about Xiao Lang?” Jian Yufei asked.

Li Mingxi nodded after a long while, “Did you know? He still likes you, and likes you very much.”

“…” Jian Yufei was a bit at a loss, “Cousin, I think Xiao Lang just couldn’t forget the past for a moment, maybe he himself doesn’t know what his heart truly needs.”

Li Mingxi laughed, “You don’t have to comfort me. He likes you, I’m not jealous, nor do I have any thoughts. Besides, I’ve decided to forget him, it’s just that now I haven’t done it entirely.”

It seems she couldn’t truly forget him.

In Jian Yufei’s view, Li Mingxi always lived freely and happily, vibrant and charming like a bright red rose, blossoming to the fullest.

Drunkenness, disappointment, painful negative emotions shouldn’t appear on her.

But at this moment, she was very uncomfortable.

She was upset because of Xiao Lang, probably this lifetime only for him did she suffer so much.

All of this shows, she loves Xiao Lang deeply, has loved him beyond control.

For love that cannot be obtained, that feeling of unattainable desire, Jian Yufei had once deeply experienced.

She didn’t know how to comfort Li Mingxi…

“Cousin, no matter what, I hope you can be happy. Actually, I’m suffering even more than you. Although the person I love also loves me, but I’m soon going to be separated from him by life and death… If possible, I’d rather he didn’t love me, so he wouldn’t have to suffer…”
