Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 1115: Chapter 113 Diligent Professor Lisa

Considering my vacation is only two days, Miss Liushuang’s attempt to arrive earlier is still utterly uncompromised.

Even it seems that she has been sitting here since this morning, unsure if she had left, until just a moment ago.

“Sorry for barging in without asking, but when I arrived, the door was not locked as it was just now.”

During his contemplation, he heard Ji Liushuang continue to apologize cheerfully.

“Moreover, I can assure you, I absolutely did not wander around on my own.”

This apology seemed a bit exaggerated.

Fu Qian thought to himself.

Since she could come here directly, it meant that Jia Keke must have delivered his reply.

And he clearly stated, “Feel free to visit anytime,” so Miss Liushuang couldn’t have misunderstood that, thus the uninvited entry shouldn’t have occurred.

Miss Liushuang’s focus in her apology was on the “the door wasn’t locked” aspect.

She subtly reminded him that the strangeness before was due to a special “lock.”

It turned out to be similar to what he had guessed; the misalignment of internal and external time had likely formed some kind of special barrier.

The source of this power was evidently found just a moment ago.

Considering that this was Miss Liushuang’s first visit, it was obvious who caused it.

Fu Qian glanced at Professor Lisa.

Since she wasn’t invited to sit down promptly, she had rather impolitely made herself comfortable already, her gaze shifting back and forth between himself and Ji Liushuang, looking rather suspicious.

Miss Liushuang’s subtle reminder was probably because she knew he had many secrets and wanted to ensure he had more control over the situation.

Indeed, her acceptance of the invitation to visit might have similar considerations; she wanted to verify Professor Lisa’s intentions.

Otherwise, it’s hard to imagine she would accept an invitation that seems like “auntie taking you to see something nice.”

“Got it, then you noticed the lock was opened here and came right over?”

Fu Qian nodded and pointed upwards.

After the barrier was lifted, the change at the top of the tower was quite noticeable, and Professor Lisa’s lab, already next to this place, was the first to notice – which wasn’t strange.

“Exactly, so how did you do it?”

This time, Professor Lisa took over the conversation.

It was evident she was genuinely puzzled, and even her curiosity was somewhat restrained.

“Once that thing is activated, the tower will fall into a special time loop, creating a barrier that only those who formed a prior connection, or by violently destroying it, can enter from the outside.”

“Even a Demigod couldn’t possibly dissolve it so silently.”

…

It was you who did this, and it sounds like quite a special lock indeed.

Too bad I dissolved it directly from inside.

“This security device should be an important part of the lab handover, right?”

Fu Qian held back from clarifying her doubts, instead frowning and questioning the completeness of her prior work.

“Weren’t you called away by President Cass in the middle of handing over?”

Unfortunately, this question clearly didn’t trouble Professor Lisa, who smirked cleverly.

“I came over today intending to finish it.”

Her ability to bluff was truly worthy of being personally trained by President Cass.

Fu Qian, of course, didn’t believe she was so kind-hearted. Sitting close by, he could sense that compared to before, Professor Lisa appeared slightly more fatigued.

She probably hit a dead end researching the findings she brought back from her scientific exploration, and in a fit of anger, came out to find some fun.

“I think you wanted to lure me into learning, didn’t you?”

Fu Qian humphed and gestured toward the door.

“Just lock the door next time, if I can’t come in when I return, the most natural reaction would certainly be to find you and confirm what’s going on.”

“That’s right!”

When exposed by Fu Qian, Professor Lisa showed not a hint of embarrassment and admitted boldly.

“I asked Classmate Ji. She was here from morning till the sunset, not catching a glimpse of you, which was quite frustrating to hear.”

“Are you frustrated?”

Fu Qian naturally looked at Ji Liushuang.

“…No.”

After understanding the whole situation during their conversation, she seemed more relaxed, glancing at Lisa before smiling and shaking her head.

“It’s very quiet here while I wait and catch up on the studies I’ve neglected recently, I hardly noticed the time.”

I knew it…

Glaring at her irritably, Professor Lisa noted Ji Liushuang’s reaction when she first saw Fu Qian and wasn’t surprised by this answer.

“So how exactly did you do it?”

Suppressing her rising curiosity again, Professor Lisa gritted her teeth and pursued the matter.

“Simple, a time misalignment that even a Demigod can’t handle? That’s because you don’t know my other identity.”

This time, Fu Qian did not divert the topic.

“What identity?”

Professor Lisa sat up straight, her eyes piercing.

“You have no idea about the skills of a deadbeat reversing day and night.”

While saying this, Fu Qian didn’t forget to adjust the headband on his head.

…

It seems that if not for considering there was a student nearby, Professor Lisa would have already transformed by snapping the restraint around her neck.

“You not wanting to tell is your prerogative.”

Unfortunately, the need to maintain her image still outweighed her curiosity, so she controlled her impulse once again.

“It looks like you don’t need me to tell you how to operate it, right?”

“Who said that.”

Fu Qian looked surprised.

“If Professor Lisa is convenient, I would like to receive some instruction right now.”

…

Professor Lisa was still responsible after all.

Facing Fu Qian’s eager gaze, she gritted her teeth and took a few breaths before leading the way upstairs.

“Come along.”

Seeing Ji Liushuang still sitting, Fu Qian promptly called her.

She nodded and then stood up to follow.

“Activating the barrier is simple, just dial back a certain amount of time, and as for establishing a connection—”

Professor Lisa seemed not to mind an extra student, directly began her lecture by the tower’s control panel after reaching the top.

“Keep the hour hand still and rotate the other hand counter-clockwise for a full circle, noting that this process will significantly impact mental exertion, but of course, this shouldn’t be a problem for a Demigod, you try now.”

“Alright!”

Facing the teacher’s call, Fu Qian bravely stepped forward to rotate the minute hand while holding the hour hand still.

A slight discomfort surged instantly, the pointer in his hand became extremely heavy, and with each angle turned, the urge to stop intensified.

“Indeed simple.”

Resisting the discomfort, Fu Qian completed a full rotation at a steady pace before stepping back and releasing his hand.

“The number of people that can be linked should not be unlimited, how many can be recorded at most?”

Before he could finish asking, a surprised Lisa had already extended two fingers.

“Later ones will push out the earlier ones.”

“Got it.”

Fu Qian thoughtfully looked back at Ji Liushuang.

“You try as well.”
