Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 1112: Chapter 1110: Dragon Summit Inn (End)

“I heard… you were looking for me?”

In a tidy room with an excellent view, Kelson maintained his previous sitting posture, looking at the familiar face before him.

As a prestigious Demigod, after completing what needed to be done, he never wasted time on trivial matters nor skimped on rest.

Even in this special place.

However, the recent announcement clearly disturbed this mood.

“Yes…”

Although there was no flash of electricity, and she had already prepared for death many times, facing the Demigod’s penetrating scrutiny, Sunny’s voice was still uncontrollably hoarse.

“Mr. Lu asked me to bring you a message.”

After taking a deep breath, she mustered her courage and meticulously followed the instructions, her tone changing.

“Thank you for your visit today, it was a pleasure conversing with you. This matter is now concluded. I will take my leave. Should you be interested in any further communication, you may leave a message through Tieer in the Wasteland, he owes me a favor.”

Reciting the message word for word, Sunny felt sweat forming on her forehead, especially under the increasingly sharp gaze of the Demigod.

“…Mr. Lu instructed me to convey it exactly as it was.”

She explained, then stood rigidly, like a prisoner awaiting judgment.

“Very good!”

After what felt like an eternity, when Kelson spoke again, Sunny realized she hadn’t been shattered to pieces.

Although she didn’t understand what “very good” referred to, the Demigod in her vision was actually smiling.

“Please convey to Mr. Lu, I’m pleased that his journey went smoothly and I have noted everything.”

After saying this, Kelson made a gesturing of seeing off guests and looked away.

… He’s letting me go just like that?

A conscious, live me delivered right to his doorstep, and not only did he not take the opportunity to destroy me, but he didn’t even consider taking me back for investigation?

At that moment, Sunny couldn’t describe her feelings, her mind filled with confusion.

Yet, the massive relief from escaping death was equally uncontainable.

Barely controlling her emotions, she gave a slight nod to Kelson, who was looking out the window, and exited somewhat stiffly.

…

Brilliant move!

Once her presence left the building, Kelson, squinting towards the window, sighed.

I also need to capture that bug, alive.

That phrase from the one on the Golden Throne still echoed in his ears.

So it was this kind of “alive,” he hadn’t realized at the time.

What’s even more unbelievable is that he merely sat there and fiddled a few times, seamlessly guiding the situation.

Although unsure what he intends to do with her, a puppet under someone else’s control seemed even more natural than before.

And he not only didn’t mind showing this, but even left a channel for communication.

Although it’s really not appropriate to get involved with this mysterious group, it might be of special value at a crucial moment.

…

“For a successful player, you don’t look very excited.”

In the drafty hall, Fu Qian on the Golden Throne, smilingly evaluated Sunny who walked in.

“I can’t understand… but Kelson really didn’t kill me, nor did he doubt the truth of the message I brought.”

It was evident that Sunny had done some thinking along the way and became even more confused as a result.

“It seems he no longer cares whether I live or die.”

“Could it be that you’re somewhat disappointed?”

“How could I be! It’s just that all this feels too incredible!”

Having realized she really escaped death, Sunny hastily waved her hands.

“Thank you so much for your help. Is there anything I need to do?”

She sounded quite grateful.

“No need, choices determine fate, you made your choice and bore the consequences.”

Fu Qian gestured magnanimously.

“Just like the others who walked in here, including the just-mentioned Demigod Kelson.”

Is he referring to his choice of “Ah Long”?

For the current situation, that indeed seems to be an essential step.

Unsure of how to respond, Sunny silently thought.

This also includes the recent decision not to mistakenly kill you.

Seeing her expression, Fu Qian thought to himself.

This is the truth, if Kelson’s paranoia had been too great, and he had decided to kill right then, it would have cost me 1 SAN Point.

This almost certainly would have meant his death was a necessary part of this mission.

It’s comforting that, under the arrogance and deterrence of a master, he chose the most “reasonable” explanation.

Once he deduced that Sunny was now a puppet under his control, her every out-of-character display became the brilliance of his unseen manipulation.

The final outcome saved me a lot of trouble, Madam Sunny doesn’t have to live incognito, and Kelson the Demigod can continue his Transcendent life.

How does the saying go – everything is the best arrangement.

“So after winning the prize, what plans do you have for your life?”

Seeing Sunny sit down again, stunned, Fu Qian naturally started the final interview.

“I don’t know… it seems a lot has changed, but then again nothing has, I don’t even know how long I can maintain this slightly independent state…”

“But anyway, I’m not suitable to stay here any longer, the previous mention of ‘welcome next time’, I’m afraid can’t be realized.”

Sunny shook her head.

“I can understand, but from my life experience, don’t be so quick to judge.”

He listened seriously, and finally with an elder’s tone, commented.

“You mean…”

“I know a not-so-big place, the midnight snacks there taste pretty good, and the alcohol is excellent, so it does a good business, might even be considered a gathering place for distinguished guests.”

“When the blessing dissipates later, I think you can ask the couple who runs the place if they need a waiter who doesn’t want a salary.”

“Considering your situation, the unusual talents who frequent the place might be interested, someone might offer control methods for free.”

Fu Qian casually disclosed the address of Lanaia’s beloved bar.

Even now, Sunny was paying attention to every word from Fu Qian, and as she listened, her eyes brightened, filled with renewed hope for life.

In the midst of busyness, he didn’t forget to search for research materials for the academy, am I not deserving of this lifelong teaching position?

Fu Qian privately praised himself, leaned back with full attitude, and ended the interview.

Seeing his posture, Sunny also didn’t dare to disturb any further, staying focused.

[Mission completed, containment number 2-002 successful]

And it hadn’t been too long, at a certain moment, she lifted her head, and the figure on the Golden Throne had already disappeared.
