Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 1057: Chapter 1055 Blind Eye (21) Chapter 1057: Chapter 1055 Blind Eye (21) If the Blind Eye Holy Grail is inclined to understand everything, what about the stars above?

Just moments ago, when Fu Qian was trying to figure out why this room was built beneath the Star Watchtower, he came upon a possible answer.

As is well known, when the light source is insufficient, transparent objects also appear black.

Could it be that behind the clock face overhead, there is a similar special material that extends all the way to the base of the tower?

The purpose Fu Qian first thought of was the legendary star chart projected onto the floor of the Star Watchtower.

What if through a special design, the projected starlight continues downward, ultimately shining through the holes in the clock face overhead into the room where the Holy Grail is stored?

Wouldn’t the Blind Eye Holy Grail then be effectively exposed under the starry sky?

According to the previous statements by the Sage, the Holy Grail inherently tends to escape cognition.

And as an entity that can distort the visual perception of people even in a dormant state, one can imagine the trouble in controlling it.

How the Blind Eye Association, as a group of ordinary people, managed to preserve and utilize it for many years is undoubtedly an interesting question.

Since they believe that the Gods have always existed and one just needs to truly open their eyes to receive knowledge, could they possibly have used this to suppress the Holy Grail?

By maintaining a certain frequency of exposing the Holy Grail under the watchful eyes of the celestial Gods, could it be made to focus on escaping their notice, thereby considering insignificant humans as a secondary target?

This is a hypothesis filled with many assumptions, but if it holds true, then it might explain why the Star Watchtower has faced so many calamities.

The Holy Grail doesn’t want to be watched by the Gods, but isn’t powerful enough to resist and ultimately chooses not to expose itself under the starry sky.

This is why there were so many inexplicable people led to destroy this marvel.

That’s also why the tower needed to be built in this densely populated human area—the Holy Grail needed tools.

If there were no people outside to mislead, then those in the association would be doomed.

It’s a delicate balance.

The multitude of people around are merely tools in the design.

Human intelligence truly is formidable.

…

Additionally, Fu Qian had now discovered that the clock face overhead was not actually broken, but was meant to be stationary.

There was a lever-like thing clearly connected to it along the wall.

Its purpose should be to allow the association’s people to manually control the exposure from below.

This logic sounds plausible, but still requires validation from the Sage Old Master.

“Rest assured, even if one is a Transcendent Demigod, it’s impossible to penetrate the specially designed canopy overhead and discover the specialty below, that’s why I didn’t forbid you from shining a light—it’s a barrier only the celestial Gods can penetrate,” the Sage Old Master provided an almost instant clarification.

“Of course, now the Gods are also kept outside. Next, we need to slightly adjust the position of the clock face in order to successfully retrieve the Holy Grail.”

Adjusting it to correspond to the current position of the star map on the Star Watchtower? Stimulate the Holy Grail with some stargazing and then take it away?

What a comprehensive plan!

And now, this comprehensive plan was also known to him.

“Should I adjust it?”

In just a few simple words, the Sage Old Master confirmed Fu Qian’s guess, which greatly uplifted his spirits, and he even volunteered eagerly, not shirking his responsibilities.

“Hehe… no need, you’ve worked hard coming all this way.”

Unfortunately, the Sage Old Master was quite considerate of his subordinates, laughing as he rejected his offer and then clapped his hands again.

“The two above must be quite anxious, let them do some physical work.”

The older one gets in the worldly society, the more cautious, huh? Found the target and now afraid to take more risks?

Fu Qian shook his head inwardly.

He could almost foresee that when those two came down again, the first thing they’d likely do wouldn’t be to move the clock face, but to deal with him, the last unpredictable element.

Yet, even so, Fu Qian continued to go with the flow, neither forcefully moving the clock face himself nor striking first.

By his own enthusiasm, this exploration had significantly moved forward; now it was time for a breakthrough in understanding.

Fu Qian believed that some kind of change would come soon.

And what he needed to do was survive till the end to confirm his theories.

“Sage.”

In contrast, the slightly heavy footsteps that followed were much faster than Ice’s.

Sure enough, the next person to come in was Brother Shi Gaozhi.

He must have used the punch he’d received as a reason to secure priority.

Though slightly disheveled, a short rest should have been enough for another shot.

“While the process was a bit strange, the outcome is very close to the plan,” the Sage said with a smile, summing up.

“With the help of the Holy Grail, I believe we can soon give the world a shock.”

“The principles of the Blind Eye Association cannot be violated, but the Holy Grail Sect’s Terill has left us a precious treasure, using gold and knowledge to bind the Extraordinary, turning them into swords and shields without any side effects.”

“This is a more efficient, pure path, the true way to use Extraordinary Power… do you agree?”

The last sentence, though abruptly looking at Fu Qian, asked.

“Interesting idea.”

Although he knew the question wasn’t meant for him, Fu Qian interjected seriously, while positioning the Gold Shield in front of him, moving towards the wall.

“Why not ask the celestial Gods in the sky?”

The lever in front happened to also be made of gold, still shiny despite the long years.

As Fu Qian reached for it, a dark red ray hit the shield in his hand, blocked by ripples.

During that brief moment, he had successfully reestablished connection with the shield.

“Pretty good!”

Shi Gaozhi’s attack was ineffective, and while the Sage showed slight surprise, there wasn’t any negative emotion, but rather an interest in observing.

“Let alone that you don’t know how to adjust it, even if you manage to get the corresponding setting by chance, what significance would it have for you?”

As he spoke, he clapped his hands again, summoning the last, Charlotte, over.

“If you don’t understand, then you just don’t.”

Fu Qian returned with an equally nasty smile and exerted more force.

Almost simultaneously, a scream echoed in the stone hall.

Clearly, that was the sound of Charlotte, who was rushing over, and Ice and the others turned almost in unison, unable to understand what had happened.

Unfortunately, as they turned, all three heads also fell to the ground together.

At the same time, Fu Qian, without saying another word, released the lever and rushed for the Holy Grail.

[Task failed, SAN Points minus 1]

However, he had barely taken a step when the notification sound arrived.

The last image in Fu Qian’s eyes was his Gold Shield splitting into two, and even the Extraordinary Effect on it had not triggered.
