Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

15: I didn’t really want to become famous.Right now, Chen Ting didn’t look like a company boss at all; he looked more like a newcomer who had just debuted, unable to hide his excitement after learning that his work had suddenly gone viral.

Su Jixing said, ”Boss, you’re awesome. You have to treat us to dinner tonight.”

Chen Ting nodded happily. ”Of course. You guys can choose wherever you want tonight.”

Hearing the boss’s words, the employees immediately started jumping for joy; they could finally eat the big lobsters they usually couldn’t afford.

”Thank you, Boss.”

Su Jixing had only heard the song ”courage” once and had somewhat forgotten the melody. So, while chatting with everyone, he clicked on the music. The sound that came out left everyone stunned.

Hmm? What’s this? A Chinese double-reed woodwind instrument?

Was the wrong track played?

The two were stunned. Su Jixing thought he had typed the wrong song title, so he quickly checked his phone. He exited the song and entered again, but it was still the same track.

What was going on?

As Chen Ting listened, he got a bad feeling. Although he wasn’t the one singing, this song was indeed the tune of his own track.

Su Jixing immediately checked the song information and saw the song ”courage,” original singer Chen Ting, with a suffix in parentheses: Lu Qingyu Version!

”Holy crap!” Su Jixing thought to himself.

Lu Qingyu? Which Lu Qingyu was this? Was there any other Lu Qing?

On the other side, Chen Ting was puzzled, so he opened his phone to look at the full message Xiao Ye had sent and clicked on the screen-recorded video.

Lu Qingyu’s voice came from the video.

Su Jixing was startled and leaned in to look at the phone with the boss, only to find that it really was Lu Qingyu.

In the video, Lu Qingyu was playing the Chinese double-reed woodwind instrument, and it was f*cking the tune of ”courage”! It was exactly the same as the one on the music app just now.

Su Jixing: !!! Holy crap!

Chen Ting: !!! Wait, I’m a bit confused!

With their heads huddled together over the phone, they saw in the video that Lu Qingyu was even specifically promoting the song for Chen Ting, emphasizing that it was his boss Chen Ting’s new song.

Furthermore, the song had even received the approval of a professional Funeral Big Brother. Then they looked at the bullet comments.

”It’s settled; the funeral industry has a new song.”

”Hahaha, I’m going to die laughing. Lu Qingyu’s boss, Chen Ting, you probably never imagined you’d become famous like this.”

”I wonder if Lu Qingyu needs to pay Chen Ting royalty fees?”

”Finally, someone has written a song for the funeral profession. This Chen Ting is very good.”

Chen Ting’s face was expressionless, but inside his head, another miniature version of himself was freaking out. ”No! I f*cking didn’t write it for the funeral profession!”

”This is clearly an inspirational song, okay? You could say I wrote it for students taking exams, people losing weight, or workers, and that would be fine. But why on earth is it for funerals?!”

There were six million people in the livestream at the time, and the bullet comments were scrolling so fast that the person behind the screen could barely be seen.

The other employees witnessed all of this and sat there silently, not daring to speak.

Su Jixing and Chen Ting looked at each other. For the first time, Su Jixing’s eyes darted around guiltily, and his voice lacked confidence.

”Bo-Boss, congratulations. You’re famous.”

Although the way he became famous was different, he was still famous.

Chen Ting also opened the music app charts. Now, there were two versions of ”courage” on the list.

The original version, which was the one Chen Ting sang himself, was in sixth place, while Lu Qingyu’s Chinese double-reed woodwind instrument version was in first place.

Before Lu Qingyu promoted it, the song ”courage” was at twenty-first on the charts.

The team planning the promotion for Chen Ting’s new song was happy. Without spending extra money, the boss’s new song had been promoted by a newcomer in the company and shot directly to first and sixth place. It was simply amazing.

Once the Planning Team went wild, they didn’t really care about the boss’s well-being. They made videos and added all sorts of exaggerated titles. For a while, ”courage” was all over various social media apps.

Chen Ting’s phone suddenly rang. He picked it up; it was his singer friend, Wang Hao.

As soon as the call connected, Wang Hao immediately said, ”Hey, Chen Ting, I saw your song on the music charts. Your company employees seem to have uploaded the wrong version for you. Hurry up and change it.”

Chen Ting didn’t quite know how to tell Wang Hao that the song hadn’t been uploaded incorrectly. After a few brief words of explanation, he hung up. Chen Ting didn’t know whether he should feel socially dead or thank Lu Qingyu.

Famous, he was indeed famous. He was happy he could be famous, but he was also truly stressed out.

Chen Ting took a large gulp of water, trying to calm the conflicting feelings of fire and ice inside him.

”It’s... it’s good. Little Lu is a good child.”

Su Jixing gave a strained laugh. ”Ri-Right, Boss? I told you Little Lu was on the ball.”

Chen Ting: ”Yes, he’s a good child. But when the show is over, tell him he doesn’t need to help me promote my songs next time. I don’t really want to be that famous.”

Chen Ting left with his small food tray. Only after he had walked far away did the other employees breathe a sigh of relief.

”So, is the boss still treating us to dinner tonight?”
